Sarcasm detection in written texts is the Achilles’ heel of research areas in sentiment analysis, especially with the absence of the rightful verbal tone, facial expression or body gesture that leads to random misinterpretations. It is crucial in sectors of social media, advertisements and user feedbacks on services that require proper interpretation for service evaluation and improvisation of their products. The objective here thereby is to identify sarcasm within a given text by experimenting with the original predicted mood of the text and work on its transformation with the several variations in combination of the standard sarcastic elements present in the corresponding writing. Here standard NLP techniques are used for identification and interpretation. This involves detecting primary connotation of the given text (e.g. positive/neutral/negative), followed by detecting elements of sarcasm. Then, under the presence of the sarcasm indicator algorithm, the rightful interpretation of the previously detected mood is attempted.

Background: Experimental research on the effects of treatments with homeopathic preparations on plants was last reviewed in 1990. Aims: The objective was to compile a systematic literature review on plant bioassays in homeopathic basic research using predefined criteria. Methods: Literature search was carried out on publications that reported experiments with homeopathic preparations on whole plants, seeds, plant parts or cells from 1920 to 2010, in healthy, abiotically or biotically stressed conditions. Outcomes had to be measured by established state-of-the-art procedures and statistically evaluated. Using a Manuscript Information Score (MIS) those publications were identified that provided sufficient information for proper interpretation (MIS > 5). Further evaluation focused on the use of adequate controls to investigate specific effects of homeopathic preparations and on the use of systematic negative control experiments to ensure proper system performance. Results: A total of 157 publications with plants were identified [1–3]. The 157 publications described a total of 167 experimental studies. 84 studies included statistics and 48 had a MIS > 5 allowing proper interpretation. 29 studies were identified with adequate controls to identify specific effects of homeopathic preparations, reporting significant effects of decimal and centesimal homeopathic potencies, including dilution levels beyond Avogadro’s number. Studies that tested series of consecutive potency levels reported a non-linear and discontinuous relation between effect and potency level. There were many individual studies with diverse methods and very few replication trials. 10 studies reported use of systematic negative control experiments, yielding evidence for the stability of the experimental set-up. Conclusions: Plant models appear to be a useful approach to investigate basic research questions on homeopathic preparations, but more independent replication trials and systematic research are needed. Systematic negative control experiments should be implemented on a routine basis to exclude false-positive and false-negative results.

The article considers the rule of law, the rule of criminal law. When studying the norm of criminal law, I rely on the fact that it is a mandatory rule of conduct for failure to commit a criminal offense under the criminal law of the Special Part of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, organically related orders, compliance with which is ensured by coercive potential criminal law influence. The norm of criminal law consists of: 1) conditions for the implementation of criminal law (hypothesis); 2) criminal law normative – obligatory legal requirement for non-commission of an act provided by the instruction of the Special Part of the Criminal Code (disposition); 3) sanction for non-compliance with these legal requirements. Mandatory requirements (rules) contained in the articles of the General and Special Parts of the Criminal Code and organically supplement (clarify) the content of the relevant structural part of the criminal law or contain procedural issues for its application and implementation. The article analyzes the hypothetical, dispositional and sanctioning dictates of the draft Criminal Code of Ukraine. It is concluded that the draft Criminal Code of Ukraine does not significantly change the approaches to understanding the rules of criminal law as a system of established (sanctioned) by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and legally secured universally binding criminal law norms and organically related commands. project composition, their rights and responsibilities, tasks of the Criminal Code, legal facts, etc.), compliance with which is ensured by the coercive potential of the means of criminal law influence. The considered norm in a broad sense provides for a three-tier structure and is fixed in the criminal law. At the same time, the structural elements of the norm of criminal law in the «broad» sense are placed in the articles of both the General and Special parts of the draft Criminal Code of Ukraine. Further research should focus on understanding the concept and structure of criminal law, as it will help both the legislator and the court. Proper interpretation of the concept and structure of criminal law encourages parliamentarians to more fully and accurately reproduce in the text of the Criminal Code of Ukraine all the necessary elements of criminal law in view of the purpose of its development and adoption, and the judge, investigating judge (court) – to find, compare and understand these elements, to establish their interrelations and the legal will of the legislator fixed in this norm, and also to provide its reliable realization according to a letter of the law. This knowledge allows members of society to navigate the system of criminal law obligations for their implementation.

Abstract Occurrence of the so-called residual force of an unknown value significantly disturbs interpretation of static load tests performed on piles equipped with additional measuring instruments. Screw displacement piles are the piling technology in which the residual force phenomenon is very common. Its formation mechanism is closely related to the installation method of this type of piles, which initiates generation of negative pile skin friction without any additional external factors. Knowledge of the value and distribution of a residual force (trapped in a pile shaft before starting the load test) is a necessary condition for the proper interpretation of instrumented pile test results. In this article, a clear and easy-to-use method of residual force identification, based on the analysis of shaft deformations recorded during pile unloading is presented. The method was successfully verified on two pile examples and proved to be effective and practical.

When it comes to variable interpretation, multicollinearity is among the biggest issues that must be surmounted, especially in this new era of Big Data Analytics. Since even moderate size multicollinearity can prevent proper interpretation, special diagnostics must be recommended and implemented for identification purposes. Nonetheless, in the areas of econometrics and statistics, among other fields, these diagnostics are controversial concerning their “successfulness”. It has been remarked that they frequently fail to do proper model assessment due to information complexity, resulting in model misspecification. This work proposes and investigates a robust and easily interpretable methodology, termed Elastic Information Criterion, capable of capturing multicollinearity rather accurately and effectively and thus providing a proper model assessment. The performance is investigated via simulated and real data.

Radiological findings in chest radiography and respiratory symptomatology represent a great challenge of interpretation during the COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease 2019) pandemic, as their patterns can generate uncertainty at the time of diagnosis. This case highlights the importance in achieving an adequate correlation between diagnostic imaging and the clinical picture. We present a male adult who was admitted for 8 days of respiratory symptoms. Management with steroids was initiated according to the RECOVERY (Randomized Evaluation of COVID-19 Therapy) protocol and later confirmation of SARS-CoV-2 infection was received. In the following weeks, he deteriorated slowly and progressively clinically, without reaching respiratory failure. Imaging showed a thick-walled cavitation in the right lower lobe. Tuberculosis was suspected and confirmed. The uniqueness of this case of COVID-19 coinfection in a patient with undiagnosed tuberculosis, represents a diagnostic and clinical management challenge, where the proper interpretation of chest radiology is a fundamental tool.

The four Old English poems containing the runic Cyn(e)wulf ‘signature’ have continuously provoked debate as to the characters’ intratextual function and proper interpretation. While the prevailing view is that they are predominantly logogrammatic instantiations of traditional runic names, a case has nevertheless also been made for alternative words indicated by initialisms. Referencing both of these lines of reasoning in conjunction with a semiotic literary methodological stance, this article evaluates a single Cynewulf poem (The Fates of the Apostles) and its particular inclusion of runes amongst the bookhand alphabet characters. The assessment demonstrates the poem’s multiliteral destabilization of associative boundaries between different scripts, as well as between perceived boundaries of orality and legibility. In doing so, it identifies in the text an unseen ‘eighth rune’ that is semiotically operative.

Abstract: This paper presents the assessment of a continuous assessment in a project for the Dynamics subject using an analytic rubric. Dynamics subject should improve the ability of students to evaluate and solve problems using well-understood basic concepts implemented in a simple logical manner. It focuses on the proper interpretation and application of the concepts of mechanics to the solution of engineering problems. To achieve the objective of being able to examine the issue of mechanics, students were asked to prepare a poster that must consist of the real-life application of dynamics, which they must incorporate in the sense of their poster the definition plus the use of basic fundamental principles. An analytic rubric was used as a scaffold in the evaluation of the continuous assessment of undergraduate students of civil engineering in the Dynamics subject. The continuous assessment referred to was the evaluation of a project called 'Poster Dynamics in Life.' Using analytic rubrics, lecturers in this engineering subject (Dynamics) may specifically list evaluation criteria to improve the synchronization of learning, instruction, and assessment. Besides, students may then use the rubric to organize their assigned project,  describe goals,  define and concentrate efforts where appropriate,  identify concerns relevant to the project, and  control the process in an attempt to construct a high-quality project. The results from this assessment show that most of the students achieved all the performance criteria at an acceptable level. Wound vitality demonstration is one of the most challenging fields in forensic pathology. In recent years, researchers focused on the application of histological and immunohistochemical staining in this sphere of study. It is based on the detection of inflammation, red cell infiltration, and tissue alterations at the histological examination, all of which are supposedly present in antemortem rather than post-mortem wounds. Nevertheless, some doubts about the reliability of those markers have arisen. Furthermore, the lack of a standardized protocol and the operator dependency of this approach make the proper interpretation of its results difficult. Moreover, a differential miRNAs expression has been demonstrated in antemortem and post-mortem wounds. Herein, a systematic review concerning the current knowledge about the use of miRNAs in lesion vitality evaluation is carried out, to encourage researchers to deepen this peculiar study area. A compendium about the potential miRNAs that may be further investigated as vitality markers is also provided. The aim is to collect all available data about this topic to direct further studies on this field and highlight the future applications of miRNAs in forensic pathology. We found 20 articles and a total of 51 miRNAs that are involved in inflammation and wound healing. Further studies are certainly needed to deepen the role of miRNAs in inflammatory processes in lesioned skin and to evaluate their reliability in distinguishing between antemortem and post-mortem lesions.
