This article uncovers relevant sources and methodologies to gather knowledge about micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Brazil. To achieve its purpose, the text presents sources and methodologies. This type of study is relatively neglected concerning MSMEs. Until this moment, not much data has been reported about these companies’ categories, and even less in advanced research. Among the most significant data and methodology of addressing MSMEs in the country, the text highlights the surveys conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE), and the international annual research Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) a study on the entrepreneurial activity, which Brazil is part for more than 20 years. The Brazilian institutions, as well as consulting for those companies, collect key data that posteriorly become research sources. Also, when explaining how institutions chose and treated the data, they own specific methodologies regarding those businesses in Brazil. The paper also points out the importance of constant law monitoring, adjustment, and technology incentives. This article's contribution is to present a research methodology on MSME in Brazil with relevant data.

Abstract. The expansion of data collection from remote sensing and other geographic data sources, as well as from other technology such as cloud, sensors, mobile, and social media, have made mapping and analysis more complex. Some geospatial applications continue to rely on conventional geospatial processing, where limitation on computation capabilities often lacking to attain significant data interpretation. In recent years, GPU processing has improved far more GIS applications than using CPU alone. As a result, numerous researchers have begun utilising GPUs for scientific, geometric, and database computations in addition to graphics hardware use. This paper summarizes parallel processing concept and architecture, the development of GPU geoprocessing for big geodata ranging from remote sensing and 3D modelling to smart cities studies. This paper also addresses the GPU future trends advancement opportunities with other technologies, machine learning, deep learning, and cloud-based computing.

Adequate SSRI monotherapy does not produce a sufficient clinical effect in some patients, and about 30% of patients do not respond to therapy at all. Favorable experience of combined prescription of SSRIs with various nootropic (neuroprotective) agents has been described in the literature.The aim of the study was to investigate the efficacy and tolerability of hopantenic acid as an adjuvant therapy for depression. We obtained significant data that inclusion of hopantenic acid at a dose of 2000 mg per day in a 12-week complex antidepressant therapy with paroxetine (20 mg per day) statistically significantly reduces the severity of depression symptoms. The drug's effect is achieved by improving patients' cognitive functions, reducing anxiety symptoms and side effects of SSRIs. Improved efficacy and tolerability of antidepressant therapy with hopantenic acid in the long term will allow to achieve more significant improvement in the quality of life of patients.

The article aims to introduce a new source on the Kalmyk Khanate’s history, namely, “Vypiska o derbetevykh vladel’tsakh i o ikh ulusakh sochinennaia” (An extract about Derbet owners and their ulus, composed). The document was discovered in the National Archive of the Republic of Kalmykia, repository 36, “Sostoiashchii pri kalmytskikh delakh pri Astrakhanskom gubernatore (To Kalmyk affairs under the Astrakhan governor). Results. The record made on 70 sheets of paper, originated from the Collegium of Foreign Affairs; it was sent along with the imperial decree for the governor to familiarize himself with the policy pursued in relation to the ulus. The source contains significant data that sheds additional light not only on the history of the Derbet ulus but also on the Kalmyk Khanate overall. It describes the history of the ulus since the early eighteenth century, with a focus on the events between the 1740s and mid-1750s. The document has to do with the events that took place on the Don, where the Derbet ulus used to roam; special attention is given to the Derbet owners’ attitudes to the strife that took place in the first half of the century. Conclusions. “Vypiska o derbetevykh vladel’tsakh i o ikh ulusakh sochinennaia” is one of the detailed records describing the history of the Derbet ulus in the eighteenth century based on the government’s documents of the first half of the century. That is why there is a detailed description of the events related to the ulus’s move to the Don, indicating the ulus owners’ attitudes to the strife that took place at the time in the Khanate. There is every reason to believe that the document was written by Vasily Bakunin, the Collegium member who was most knowledgeable about the affairs of the Kalmyk Khanate.

From a comprehensive and systematic search of the relevant literature on signal data signature (SDS)-based artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) systems designed to aid in the diagnosis of COVID-19 illness, we identified the highest quality articles with statistically significant data sets for a head-to-head comparison to our own model in development. Further comparisons were made to the recently released "Good Machine Learning Practice (GMLP) for Medical Device Development: Guiding Principles" and, in conclusions, we proposed supplemental principles aimed at bringing AI/ML technologies in closer alignment GMLP and Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

In recent years, internet usage and social media have been widely used in Malaysia, the construction industry is one of the industries that are not excluded from this technological trend. This research intended to identify the benefits and challenges of social media in the construction industry among the construction professionals particularly in the northern region area. To identify the usage, the benefit and challenges of social media were also determined in the construction industry whereby it also reflects how far construction professionals rely on social media in their daily works. This research uses quantitative approach in order to collect data via questionnaires distribution from construction professionals.  The results revealed that, most of the construction companies agreed that social media provides more advantages and benefits than challenges in the construction industry. This research provides significant data for construction professionals regarding the effectiveness of social media platform particularly in disseminating information for daily communication in construction projects.

Researchers of museum collections owe a great debt of gratitude to those responsible for curating the collections; however, staff may frequently remain innocently unaware of significant contents within the accessions. Such is a group of flint artefacts in Salisbury Museum, Wiltshire, which were found in 1860 on the outskirts of the city. The collection was rediscovered during unrelated archaeological research and comprises a series of blades, which include refitting components, demonstrating that the artefacts came from undisturbed prehistoric contexts. The blade blanks had been removed from opposed platform cores, using careful core preparation and soft hammer percussion. These characteristics can be most closely paralleled by Upper Palaeolithic Federmesser industries in Europe, which date from the end of the Last Glaciation. The existence of the Upper Palaeolithic was unrecognised at the time the artefacts were found, since when two other contemporary sites have been identified in the River Avon valley as well as others across the country. The newly recognised addition extends the distribution of Upper Palaeolithic activity further up the River Avon valley to Salisbury, where five rivers congregate, providing a convenient point for further dispersal. The finding also mirrors patterns of occupation on well-drained terrace bluffs overlooking the floodplain. Research results have yielded significant data, 160 years after the collection’s discovery, expanding current knowledge of the Upper Palaeolithic in the River Avon valley and demonstrating the continued value and potential of collections in our museums.

This study aims to validate a method of neuropilin-1 blocking in Drosophila melanogaster to aid the development of chronic pain treatment as well as increase scientific understanding of SARS-CoV-2 cell entry. If Drosophila melanogaster are exposed to monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) used for targeted chemotherapy against neuropilin-1, then this targeted protein blocking method may allow for the development of new pain treatment and possible SARS-CoV-2 treatment. mAbs were microinjected into mutant flies to block NRP-1 activity. Then, a thermal nociception and von frey assay were done to test drosophila nociception. Finally, an IHC assay was performed to quantify protein activity. Overall, the hypothesis was supported as both nociception assays showed significant data proving mutant flies had delayed or no reactions to stimuli. The Von Frey assay did show some varying results, but the data is still significant. However, the IHC did show that there was still some NRP-1 activity in the mutant flies. NRP-1 was able to be partially blocked by mAbs. The collected data may apply to the expansion of research in pain treatment as well as COVID-19 research. Chronic pain is a prevalent area of research that is still not completely solved today. The fight against the SARS-CoV-2 is an ongoing fight and further research is mandatory in finding treatments for this deadly virus.

Web readers usually skim through the text to keep up with the amount of available content. The effectiveness of skim reading is ensured by keeping the focus on the meaningful part of the text rather than the less meaningful part. To assure if the skim reading shows efficient results for a particular screen resolution, this research presents variations in the memory of significant data when a text is read on a mobile screen or a desktop screen. Moreover, the study aims to understand the knowledge gained from the text at a given time. In total, sixty participants contributed to the study and it is found that, relative to reading the text on a mobile screen, skimming showed improved memory for the ideas defined in the text on a computer screen. A software prototype is developed in this research study to analyze the impact of skim reading on a desktop computer screen versus a mobile device screen. The findings of the study have been interpreted as evidence in support of a skimming process called satisficing.

AbstractBroadband, high resolution, and rapid measurements of dual-comb spectroscopy (DCS) generate a large amount of data stream. We numerically demonstrate significant data compression of DCS spectra by using a compressive sensing technique. Our numerical simulation shows a compression rate of more than 100 with a 3% error in mole fraction estimation of mid-infrared (MIR) DCS of two molecular species in a broadband (~ 30 THz) and high resolution (~ 115 MHz) condition. We also numerically demonstrate a massively parallel MIR DCS spectrum of 10 different molecular species can be reconstructed with a compression rate of 10.5 with a transmittance error of 0.003 from the original spectrum.
