The microbial community of the human intestine is important for maintaining human health. It has been reported that the gut microbiome changes with age, and it can be enrichedwith certain beneficial bacteria while also losing certain commensal bacteria.Little is known about the gut virome of long-livers. Our research aimed to extract, sequence and analyze the viral fraction of long-livers’ gut microbiota in comparison with those of young adults and the elderly. We were thereby able to characterize the gut virome profiles and viral diversity of three age groups. Keywords: aging, gut microbiome, viral metagenomics, bacteriophages

Old cats develop chronic diseases similar to diseases in older people. One-fourth of American households own cats, and almost half are more than 7 years old. Cats share the same environment and are exposed to many of the same chemical stresses. In addition, genomic diversity and population stratification are similar to that occurring in people. With these comparative features, the aging cat represents a geroscience model to investigate the pathogenesis and therapeutic interventions for aging. However, cats are generally not recognized as a translational model for aging research mainly because of the lack of knowledge and appreciation within the scientific community. In addition, cat owners are not aware of any research programs designed to enhance healthy aging in their pets because none exist. Much work is needed to inform and educate the scientific community as well as cat owners about the power of aging cats as a transformative model to investigate aging and age-related diseases that will benefit both human and feline health. Abstract: Operating system offers a service known as memory management which manages and guides primary memory. It moves processes between disk and main memory during the execution back and forth. The process in which we provisionally moves process from primary memory to the hard disk so the memory is available for other processes. This process is known as swapping. Page replacement techniques are the methods by which the operating system concludes which memory pages to be swapped out and write to disk, whenever a page of main memory is required to be allocated. There are different policies regarding how to select a page to be swapped out when a page fault occurs to create space for new page. These Policies are called page replacement algorithms. In this paper the strategy for identifying the refresh rate for ‘Aging’ page replacement algorithm is presented and evaluated. Keywords: Aging algorithm, page replacement algorithm, refresh rate, virtual memory management.

Chronic heart failure(CHF) is a serious public health problem in the world, which occurs mostly in the elderly, with extremely high morbidity and mortality. The physiological changes in the cardiovascular system caused by aging are an independent risk factor for CHF. For this reason, effective drug treatment is often used to improve the clinical symptoms and quality of life of older CHF patients, and ultimately achieve the goal of reducing hospitalization rate and cardiovascular mortality. This article describes recent progress of drug therapy for older patients in chronic heart failure. Keywords: Aging, older patients, chronic heart failure, drug therapy

Palavras-chave: Envelhecimento; Qualidade de Vida; Promoção de Saúde; Ludoterapia The ludic focus on educational interventions in oral health for institutionalized elderly Abstract: One of the most challenging global health issues is providing longevity associated with quality of life for the elderly population. Institutionalization has been an important alternative to provide it, however, in those spaces, the elderly has greater dental care demands when compared to the non-institutionalized population. Therefore, there is the development of psychological problems such as low self-esteem, depression, and social isolation. In this context, carrying out education and health promotion activities is essential and can have important results when carried out using a ludic approach. This article aimed to present a report of the experience of applying ludic concepts educational interventions within institutionalized elderly. Some routine games were used with the elderly population, such as bingo, fishing, memory games, each one of them adapted to the theme of oral health. Through these activities, it was possible to offer information, improve the elderly's perception of oral health, and encourage independent oral hygiene. Interest in the study of travel behaviour of the elderly has been growing in the last two decades and many of the works done were concentrated in the global north. Evidence from literature reveals that most of these studies focus more on the impacts of individual and household socioeconomic attributes, urban form, travel attributes, and policy factors on the travel behaviour of the elderly, but less onthe influence of neighbourhood planning. This paper examined the travel behaviour of old people in Festac town (planned) and Ketu (unplanned) community of Lagos metropolis, southwest Nigeria to determine the influence of neighbourhood planning on travel pattern. The two neighbourhoods were carefully and purposively selected for collection of socio-economic and travel data through a structured questionnaire that was administered on 155 randomly selected elderly respondents. The study revealed significant differences and some similarities in respondents’ socio-economic and travel characteristics. Respondents from the planned community have a higher daily meantrip rate and mean trip time than those in unplanned community. Residents of the planned community also undertake higher work and social trips and rely on automobile more than those in unplanned community. Apart from the fact that the majority of respondents travel more during the off-peak period, frequent road congestion was reported as the top mobility challenge among respondents in the two neighbourhoods. The study concluded that neighbourhood planning affects travel behaviour and recommended a walkable neighbourhood concept and promotion of elderly-friendly public transport system for the study area. Keywords: Aging, community, elderly, neighbourhood planning, travel behaviour.
