Palabras clave: Transporte público, derecho a la ciudad, movilidad cotidiana, barrio precario, equidad de género AbstractThis thesis focuses on the daily mobility on public transportation of women residing in a precarious neighborhood of Cuenca. The incidence  of territorial distribution on displacements was studied. To achieve this, an analysis, through semi - structured interviews and social cartography on how they perceive their bus routes when crossing the city, was carried out. It was found that poor public transport  service produced extensive travel, which caused respondents to spend a lot of time to get around. Likewise, the perception of constant insecurity, harassment and sexual violence was a factor that defned their travels. Yet, they preferred bus service for its economy. Keywords: Public transport, right to the city, daily mobility, slum, gender equality.

Public transport has become one of the major transport options, especially when it comes to reducing motorized individual transport and achieving sustainability while reducing emissions, noise and so on. The use of public transport data has evolved and rapidly improved over the past decades. Indeed, the availability of data from different sources, coupled with advances in analytical and predictive approaches, has contributed to increased attention being paid to the exploitation of available data to improve public transport service. In this paper, we review the current state of the art of public transport data sources. More precisely, we summarize and analyze the potential and challenges of the main data sources. In addition, we show the complementary aspects of these data sources and how to merge them to broaden their contributions and face their challenges. This is complemented by an information management framework to enhance the use of data sources. Specifically, we seek to bridge the gap between traditional data sources and recent ones, present a unified overview of them and show how they can all leverage recent advances in data-driven methods and how they can help achieve a balance between transit service and passenger behavior.

This study presents and processes briefly the defining elements that characterize the system and the public transport service of TÎRGU-MUREŞ Municipality in 2015. The first contact with the "Târgu-Mureş" entity can only be achieved through a major interest in the land and the inhabitants. The Municipality of Târgu-Mureş, the county seat of Mureş, with an area of 6,696 ha and a population of approximately 150,000 inhabitants, is one of the big municipalities of Romania, a major road and air junction, a powerful center of polarization of socio-economic activity at regional level. Only 12 districts (with an area of 3201.37 hectares) can be identified for Târgu-Mureş municipality alone. The transport operator acting as the main service agent for the Tîrgu-Mureş urban area, namely S.C. Local Transportation S.A. operates as a joint stock company under the authority of the Municipal Council. Vehicle Park of S.C. Siletina Impex S.R.L. and Local Transportation S.A. Tîrgu-Mureş used for the local public transport activity is also presented in the paper. The economic and financial situation for the years 2012, 2013 and 2014 are summarized.

This paper explores the influence of socioeconomics on travel behavior among public transport commuters to increase modal share. A face-to-face survey was carried out, and 904 usable questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. The findings showed that level of education strongly influences travel behavior while there is not much difference in gender, age, income, and occupation. However, the categories in the groups provide good information relating to travel behavior. Suggestions and recommendations are provided to help the public transport service provider setting more strategic plans to encourage more individual riders to switch to public transport and sustain existing users.   Keywords: Socio-economics, travel behavior, public transport   eISSN: 2398-4287© 2021. Several studies have focused on understanding travelers’ attitudes and characteristics toward using carpooling services. However, few of these studies have focused the driver’s behavior and carpooling services that are organized to feed public transport. This research investigates the willingness of drivers to accept a carpooling ride, as part of their trip, to/from public transport stations (i.e., rail, tram and metro). Data from the EU project Ride2Rail are used, for which a survey (n = 327) was conducted in EU27 and the UK. Fisher’s exact and chi-square tests are used to explore the relationships between drivers/non-drivers and explanatory variables. A binary logit model is developed to estimate the likelihood of carpooling as a driver to/from a public transport station. The results show that delay, convenience, residence location, security and the number of passengers influence the drivers’ decision toward using their private vehicle in carpooling services. Findings provide concrete recommendations for carpooling drivers regarding the planning of a successful carpooling service. The recommendations to “recruit” the drivers become significant, as the concept of carpooling cannot be realized without them.
