Geotechnical conditions as one of the conditions considered in the design and planning of tailings dams are strongly influenced by material conditions. The material condition is a parameter that will always be taken into account with stability. The material condition can be defined as a behavior that is based on the physical and mechanical properties of the material. By understanding the behavior of materials in a tailings dam construction, the risk of geotechnical failure can be controlled and minimized. This research was intended to study and investigate the behavior of material based on the geomechanical properties of the material used in a model. Generally, to determine the geomechanical properties of a material, several tests, both in-situ and laboratory tests, are required. Laboratory testing uses international standards such as ISRM (International Society of Rock Mechanics) and ASTM (American Standard Testing Materials). The research methodology used is descriptive quantitative research method. The studied parameter in this research is the geomechanical properties that influence the material on its conceptual design in terms of safety criteria (safety factor and probability of landslides) on the tailings dam embankment.

Cryptography is a technique or method for securing data from other unauthorized parties. The substitution algorithm is the simplest algorithm and is classified as a classic in the field of cryptography, for example the Caesar cipher algorithm. ASCII code (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) is a code that contains characters that can be processed by a computer. By type, not all ASCII characters can be printed by the computer. Some characters are not printed or illegible as usual. These unreadable characters are called control characters. The control character can be used to improve the performance of the Caesar Cipher algorithm, because it focuses on processing text data. The application of control characters uses a simple method but has a complex solution. The results of this study are in the form of a new method with the Caesar cipher algorithm as a classical cryptographic method or technique and ASCII characters as the basis for the development of the ciphertext performance resulting from the encryption process. In testing this method, the success rate reaches 100% in securing the contents of the document with a sample of 500 letters. While the possibility of solving the ciphertext results is classified as difficult because the control characters of the ciphertext results that are illegible will make the decryption result multiple interpretations.

In Isaiah 62:5, there are three major translations of who will marry ‘you’ or ‘Zion’ based on the immediate context (Is 62:1). Firstly, the most common reading is ‘your sons’ (Amplified Bible [AB], American Standard Version [ASV], Berean Study Bible [BSB], Catholic Public Domain Version [CPDV], Douay-Rheims Bible [DRB], English Standard Version [ESV], King James Version [KJV], New International Version [NIV], New American Standard Bible [NASB], Smith’s Literal Translation [SLT], World English Bible [WEB]). Secondly, the scholars reading preference is ‘your builder’, which refers to ‘God’ based on Psalms 147:2. This reading is adopted by Coverdale Bible of 1535, New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) and Good New Bible (GNT). Lastly, although the translation ‘builders’ is the least favourable reading, LSV and YLT use this reading. This research, therefore, attempts to argue for ‘your sons’ translation as the original reading through textual criticism as the methodology.Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: This article is a combination of textual criticism studies with translations.

Abstract Now-a-days, with the augmenting accident statistics, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) are turning out to be more popular, which in-turn eradicates accidents in addition to damage to the vehicles together with populace. In a VANET, message can well be transmitted within a pre-stated region to attain safety of a system and also its efficacy. Next, it is challenge to ensure authenticity of messages in such a dynamic environment. Though some researchers have already worked on this, security has not been much focussed. Thus, secured data communication with enhanced security on the VANET environment utilizing the American Standard Code for Information Interchange centred Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ASCII-ECC) is proposed. The proposed scheme allows all vehicles to register with the Trusted Authority (TA) and uses Median-centred K-Means (MKM) to find out the cluster head among all cluster and at the last phase verification is done by TA. The performance of the proposed algorithm ASCII-ECC is analysed and proved that the system renders better performance when it is weighed against the top-notch methods.

The impact of COVID-19 on farmers’ livelihoods and food security is a key concern in rural communities. This study investigates the impacts of the livelihood assets on the food security of rural households during the COVID-19 pandemic and determines those factors related to food security. The population of this study includes rural households in Dashtestan county, Bushehr province, in southern Iran. Based on the Krejcie and Morgan sampling table, 293 households were selected using the convenience sampling method. To measure food security, the American standard index and ordinal regression are used to analyze the factors. The results of the food security situation show highly precarious and food insecure situations among the studied rural households. The regression analysis shows that the most important assets affecting the food security of rural households under COVID-19 are financial, psychological, physical, and human assets, respectively. The results can help rural development planners and policymakers to improve both livelihoods and food security in rural communities, not just during the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in its aftermath.

This chapter describes the emergence of the Inter-American transnational law of human rights, its doctrinal characteristics, and some its main challenges. It focuses on the practice of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, and proposes the notion of an Inter-American legal space as a different (and more useful) prism than a hierarchical view of constitutionalism to think about the challenges of legitimacy and democracy in Inter-American human rights adjudication. Instead of thinking solely about national democracies, this chapter argues, it is useful to think of democracy in the context of an Inter-American legal space. While the balance between the appropriate Inter-American standard of review and the democratic pedigree of the primary decision is fundamental for the democratic legitimacy of the regional court, the notion of Inter-American legal space allows us to see that, in a context of human rights indeterminacy, such democratic balancing needs to be performed in reference to a regional (and not solely national) process of democratization, in which an Inter-American community of human rights practice will continue to play a central role.

This paper aims to assess the pozzolanic characteristics of the volcanic ash obtained from Jebal Tagabo (Tagabo Mountains) in western Sudan (North Darfur State) as potential Supplementary Cementitious Materials for use in blended cement and concrete. Four natural Pozzolanic materials samples have been obtained; the first is volcanic ash from the Garma region (TG1VA), the second from the Mabo region (TG2VA), the third from the Mawo region (TG3VA) and the last from the Daim Sanosi region (TG4VA). This study has investigated the chemical and physical characteristics of the samples and their pozzolanic activities with Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) at different substitution levels of cement by weights, which are 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. And the results of chemical analysis show that all samples can be classified as Class N according to the American standard ASTM C618. The strength activity indices of the four samples at 20% level were found to be 75, 84, 89, and 83% respectively. These results indicate that the Jebal Tagabo Pozzolans are potential supplementary cementitious materials for use in blended cement.
