The objective is to examine the intersection of advocacy for social change, the individual’s emotional costs of advocacy, and the use of trauma informed care in supervisory practice to encourage and support advocates and their work.  Supervision models exist, but none address the needs of advocates who might become targets for scorn and persecution. The literature on trauma informed care provides a direction to improve the support and supervision of advocates, especially those who use their personal experiences as examples in their work. We reviewed data bases and relevant literature regarding supervision and the principles of trauma informed care.  Periodical literature was reviewed for examples of those affected personally and professionally by their advocacy efforts. Review of the literature revealed little new knowledge on supervision but provided a base to apply the principles of trauma informed care to support and encourage advocacy for social change. This paper suggests the use of trauma informed care in supervisory relationships and advocacy work. This is an original approach to encourage and uphold advocates in difficult times.

Marginalised individuals face significant and consistent adversities and injustices that their dominant culture counterparts rarely or never face, such as discrimination, low resource access, and violence. These challenges have been linked to poor wellbeing, both empirically and in individuals’ lived experiences. An original approach to improving this situation is introduced here via a novel transtheoretical construct: socially transformative resilience. Socially transformative resilience is conceived as a type of resilience in which individuals not only improve their psychosocial wellbeing in the face of challenge, but also resist, transcend, and/or seek to change the status quo, increasing their liberation as well. The key components and mechanisms of this new construct are described in detail, drawing on theoretical and empirical evidence. Key propositions of the model include the dual importance of moral and emotional initial responses to stressors, the centrality of a multidimensional reflection process, and the utility of acceptability-control appraisals in choosing which actions and resources to activate in service of wellbeing and liberation. An agenda for future research is presented, including examining and refining the model, developing a measure, creating interventions, and investigating relationships with psychopathology.

The research examined awareness, prospects and constraints of sustainable marketing mix development (SMD) from the perspective of Poland’s high-energy consumer goods (HECG), i.e., confectionery products, as an example of the Polish food industry. A questionnaire survey was designed for this purpose. The purpose of the survey questions was to evaluate selected areas of SMD; thus, a reference value ratio was proposed. An original approach to pairwise comparisons technique was applied to rank the value of each survey to provide an intensity measure for each examined area, i.e., a non-heuristic approach with verifiable accuracy and reliability. It was found that a high level of awareness among respondents exists in relation to SMD. Considering all aspects of constraints intensity for SMD, it could be concluded that SMD for Poland’s HECG is at a quite high level. However, considering all aspects of prospects intensity for SMD, this evaluation supported the conclusion that its level for Poland’s HECG is moderate only. It was also found that prices of sustainable products constitute the highest ranked determinant of SMD. Considering these research findings regarding awareness, limitations and perspectives for the development of a sustainable marketing mix in the enterprises operating in Poland’s HECG sector, it can be concluded that there are many more problems and difficulties in implementing sustainable marketing mix programs than there are prospects for the development of this concept.

In Symposius’ riddle 65 the virtuosic mixture of multiple referential fields seems to hide some echoes from the astronomical tradition on the constellation of the Arrow. The disclosure of this semantic level is not incompatible with the literal interpretation of the verses and testifies to Symposius’ original approach to kosmische Rätsel.

The present paper aims at analyzing the topological content of the complex trajectories that weeder-autonomous robots follow in operation. We will prove that the topological descriptors of these trajectories are affected by the robot environment as well as by the robot state, with respect to maintenance operations. Most of existing methodologies enabling efficient diagnosis are based on the data analysis, and in particular on some statistical quantities derived from the data. The present work explores the use of an original approach that instead of analyzing quantities derived from the data, analyzes the “shape” of the data, that is, the time series topology based on the homology persistence. We will prove that this procedure is able to extract valuable patterns able to discriminate the trajectories that the robot follows depending on the particular patch in which it operates, as well as to differentiate the robot behavior before and after undergoing a maintenance operation. Even if it is a preliminary work, and it does not pretend to compare its performances with respect to other existing technologies, this work opens new perspectives in considering quite natural and simple descriptors based on the intrinsic information that data contains, with the aim of performing efficient diagnosis and prognosis.

Review of the book Mind Games: towards understanding the nature of prejudice and conflict, or how to learn to live in peace by Terrence Webster-Doyle. Mind Games: To understand the roots of prejudice and how to learn live peacefully: a scientific and educational publication. T. Webster-Doyle. Samara Cultural Society Artifact-Cultural Diversity. Samara: Samara Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences; 2020. 55 p. Reviewer considers that T. Webster-Doyles book is a brilliant example of how conflicts can be resolved most effectively without theorized distraction. T. Webster-Doyles book is small in volume, but very significant in content. The author offers a real program for taming the conflicts and violence that fill the entire human history. Until now, there is a clear lack of research on the universal determinants of the emergence and dynamics of conflict. A paradoxical situation arises when methods of conflict resolution are studied and modified, despite the fact that its initial determinants are not accurately determined. The models of taming conflicts that are being replicated in the social sciences almost do not solve the very problem of overcoming violence in society. Note that T. Webster-Doyle defines her book as the most significant work of her life. The author proposes an original approach to the determination of the conflict and defines the ways of its resolution in direct relationship with the understanding of its determinants. Also, the advantage of the book is a good literary presentation of the material. T. Webster-Doyle views conflict as a phenomenon created by the human mind, which at the same time, in a paradox, is trying to solve a problem which it itself creates. This work is devoted to the study of the determinants of conflict, which are considered comprehensively in the relationship of biological and social determinants: as generated by genetically programmed brain programs and at the same time as a function of peoples perception of the world around them and each other. The author notes that the universal basis of biological programming is the general motivation the desire to survive. Consequently, this work presents a program for resolving the conflict based on a comprehensive consideration of the conflict as a sociobiological phenomenon, which is based on the conditioned thinking of a person (primordial biological protection of his brain). The advantage of the book is its versatility. The author does not just consider the problem of the conflict, its components, the parties to the conflict, conflict genes, the incident, etc. He is looking for an approach that allows you to take a fresh look at this problem and find ways to prevent and destroy the conflict.

Heart disease is a leading cause of death among cats and dogs. Vertebral heart scale (VHS) is one tool to quantify radiographic cardiac enlargement and to predict the occurrence of congestive heart failure. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of artificial intelligence (AI) performing VHS measurements when compared with two board-certified specialists. Ground truth consisted of the average of constituent VHS measurements performed by board-certified specialists. Thirty canine and 30 feline thoracic lateral radiographs were evaluated by each operator, using two different methods for determination of the cardiac short axis on dogs' radiographs: the original approach published by Buchanan and the modified approach proposed by the EPIC trial authors, and only Buchanan's method for cats' radiographs. Overall, the VHS calculated by the AI, radiologist, and cardiologist had a high degree of agreement in both canine and feline patients (intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) = 0.998). In canine patients, when comparing methods used to calculate VHS by specialists, there was also a high degree of agreement (ICC = 0.999). When evaluating specifically the results of the AI VHS vs. the two specialists' readings, the agreement was excellent for both canine (ICC = 0.998) and feline radiographs (ICC = 0.998). Performance of AI trained to locate VHS reference points agreed with manual calculation by specialists in both cats and dogs. Such a computer-aided technique might be an important asset for veterinarians in general practice to limit interobserver variability and obtain more comparable VHS reading over time.

The article is devoted to the pain joint syndrome in patients with ostearthritis in the clinic of internal diseases. The problem of treating osteoarthritis is caused by a painful joint syndrome, a decrease in the quality of life, limited social activity and disability, which is relevant in the clinic of internal diseases. The frequency, severity and duration of exacerbations of the articular syndrome have the greatest impact on the quality of life of patients with osteoarthritis. Comorbid or polymorbid patients are particularly difficult, for whom traditional treatment often becomes impossible due to complications. The purpose of the study was a comparative assessment of the relief of acute joint pain syndrome. The advantage of the drug AMBENIUM parenteral, the active ingredient of which is sodium phenylbutazone at a dose of 400 mg with a single administration, has been proven. To solve this problem, an original approach was proposed: against the background of traditional therapy for pain relief in osteoarthritis, AMBENIUM parenteral was administered in the observation group after the withdrawal of previously prescribed NSAIDs on the day of administration. Instrumental diagnostics was carried out by X-ray, magnetic resonance and computed tomography. According to the Leken scale, the effectiveness of AMBENIUM parenteral was noted for reducing pain and discomfort, optimizing walking distances, and when using the WOMAC index, the reliability of increasing daily activity was proven. The study of the quality of life on the EQ-5D scale with a pronounced optimization of subscales when including AMBENIUM parenteral in the treatment regimen for osteoarthritis was relevant during the study. The multidimensional KOOS questionnaire proved the priority of AMBENIUM parenteral in correcting the complexity of performing everyday everyday movements and sports activity on vacation. Undesirable side effects in patients with comorbid diseases were rare. AMBENIUM parenteral was not only highly effective for the treatment of acute joint pain syndrome, but also well tolerated. The study allows us to recommend AMBENIUM parenteral for the treatment of osteoarthritis in patients with comorbid conditions

The subject of this research is the soteriology of Amidism as a single formative force that contributed to the spread and acquisition of new features of the doctrine. The object of this research is the theory of salvation and rebirth in the Pure Land, which undergoes modification and adopts the elements of other schools and denominations. This article examines soteriology of the School of Amidism as a driving force that develops and promotes the doctrine of the Pure Land in the Far Eastern region during the Middle Ages. Comprehensive approach towards studying the system of soteriological aspects of Amidism allows comprehending the patterns of the process of establishment and strengthening of the doctrine in new sociocultural realms. An attempt is made to trace the peculiarities of the impact of other schools of Buddhism upon soteriology of Amidaist doctrine. The scientific novelty lies in the original approach towards examining the soteriological representations of the Buddhist direction. The soteriological aspects of Amidism are viewed as a single substrate, linking element, foundation for the doctrine of the Pure Land, which promotes its development and distribution on the Asian continent and neighboring states. Amidaist teaching has walked a long path, since conception of the idea of Pure Land to development of the complex doctrinal system. In the spatial context, Amidism transcends the boundaries, growing from the local belief to a major trend of Mahayana Buddhism. Soteriology of the doctrine has become the foundation, formative force, which contributed to strengthening and development of doctrine.
