Abstract Cryptography is related and referred to as the secured transmission of messages amongst the sender and the intended receiver by ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and authentication. Diffie – Hellman (DH) key exchange protocol is a well-known algorithm that would generate a shared secret key among the sender and the intended receiver, and the basis of cryptosystems for using public and private key for encryption and decryption process. But it is severely affected by the Man in the Middle (MITM) attack that would intercept and manipulate thus eavesdropping the shared secret key. This paper proposes a model of integrating the public-key RSA cryptography system with the DH key exchange to prevent the MITM attack. The performance of the proposed work has been compared to the DH Key Exchange algorithm as well as RSA Cryptosystem to conclude for effectiveness of the proposed model.

Abstract PKI gives undeniable degree of safety by transferring the key pair framework among the clients. By constructing, a PKI we combine digital identities with the digital signatures, which give an end-to-end trust model. Basically, PKI is an attempt, which can simulate the real-world human analyzation of identity and reliability in a computerized fashion. In any case, the existing applications are centered on a tight trust model which makes them inadequate as an overall device for trust examination. After years of research, development and deployment, PKI still facing strong technical and organizational challenges such as attacks against Certificate Authorities (CA). CAs are the primitive component of PKIs which plays powerful role in the PKI model. CA must be diligent, creditable and legitimate. In any case, a technocrat who picks up control on a CA can use CA's certificate to issue bogus certificate and impersonate any site, such as - DigiNotar, GobalSign, Comodo and DigiCert Malaysia. In this paper we proposed an approach to reduce the damage of compromised CA/CA’s key by imposing Multiple Signatures (MS) after verifying/authenticating user’s information. One single compromised CA is not able to issue a certificate to any domain as multiple signatures are required. Private key and other perceptive information are stored in the form of object/blob. Without knowing the structure of class no one can access the object and object output stream. Proposed MS achieve better performance over existing MS schemes and control fraudulent certificate issuance with more database security. The proposed scheme also avoids MITM attack against CA who is issuing certificate to whom which is using the following parameters such as identity of Sender, Receiver, Timestamp and Aadhar number.

Preventing man-in-the-middle (MiTM) attack using Artificial Neural Network refers to an in depth analysis of how calls are made vis-a-viz the structure of the inter-related operations that binds the respective subsystems within the GSM Architecture during calls. Calls in the GSM network is a request from aMobile Station (MS). This request has faced severe attacks due to the network’s access to Internet presence that has made its way into cellular telephony, creating a vulnerable and susceptible network attack such as Man-in-the-middle. This paper proffer solution to Man-in-the-middle attack during GSM calls by using Artificial Neural Network which can be embedded into the Protocol Stack to detect network intrusion and prevent Man-in-the-middle attack to obtain hitch-free local and international calls.

Payload authentication is vulnerable to Man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack. Blockchain technology offers methods such as peer to peer, block hash, and proof-of-work to secure the payload of authentication process. The implementation uses block hash and proof-of-work methods on blockchain technology and testing is using White-box-testing and security tests distributed to system security practitioners who are competent in MITM attacks. The analyisis results before implementing Blockchain technology show that the authentication payload is still in plain text, so the data confidentiality has not minimize passive voice. After implementing Blockchain technology to the system, white-box testing using the Wireshark gives the result that the authentication payload sent has been well encrypted and safe enough. The percentage of security test results gets 95% which shows that securing the system from MITM attacks is relatively high. Although it has succeeded in securing the system from MITM attacks, it still has a vulnerability from other cyber attacks, so implementation of the Blockchain needs security improvisation.

This study addresses a new question regarding the security of the Kirchhoff-Law-Johnson-Noise (KLJN) scheme compromised by DC sources at Alice and Bob: What is the impact of these parasitic sources on active attacks, such as the man-in-the-middle (MITM) attack, or the current injection attack if Alice and Bod did not eliminate these sources? The surprising answer is that the parasitic DC sources actually increase the security of the system because, in the case of the MITM attack, they make easier to uncover the eavesdropping than the ideal situation. In some of the cases, Eve can fix this deficiency but then the problem gets reduced to the original MITM attack to which the KLJN scheme is immune, it is already proven earlier.
