This study aims to investigate high school students’ geometry learning by focusing on mathematical creativity and its relationship with visualisation and geometrical figure apprehension. The presentation of a geometrical task and its influence on students’ mathematical creativity is the main topic investigated. The authors combine theory and research in mathematical creativity, considering Roza Leikin’s research work on Multiple-Solution Tasks with theory and research in visualisation and geometrical figure apprehension, mainly considering Raymond Duval’s work. The relations between creativity, visualization and geometrical figure apprehension are examined through four Geometry Multiple-Solution Tasks given to high school students in Greece. The geometrical tasks are divided into two categories depending on whether their wording is accompanied by the relevant figure or not. The results of the study indicate a multidimensional character of relations among creativity, visualization and geometrical figure apprehension. Didactical implications and future research opportunities are discussed.

Strategies of smart city transformation is the main topic of this chapter. It covers aspects of strategizing and adoption of policies that may facilitate the transformation process and affect the smart city development on both levels: holistic and piecewise implementation. The chapter goes further into strategic planning of developing smart cities, which is identified by three stages: development policy, transformation initiatives, and project planning stage. The chapter introduces the four fundamental tracks of smart cities and analyses reasons for the existence of smart cities. In addition, it covers the different strategies for changes: technological change, social change, industrial change, and policy change with possibilities of using the smart model. Finally, it covers smart city design principles, sustainability, efficiency, resiliency, and others.

In this article, our main topic is about the existence of relaxed skolem mean labeling for a 5 – star graph G = K1,α ∪ K1,α ∪ K1,α ∪ K1, β ∪ K1, β 1 2 3 1 2 with partition 3, 2 with a certain condition. By using the trial and error method we find the existence of the relaxed skolam mean labeling of 5 - star graph with partition 3, 2 with a specific condition.

The article introduces the history of the formation of the Japanese collection in the National Library of Russia. Materials in Japanese are available in various departments of the library; the article focuses on the largest collection of materials in Japanese, namely the Japanese collection of the Department of Asian and African Countries Literature (DAAСL). An attempt is made to briefly present two topics: firstly, the history of the Japanese collection and the department, and secondly, the history and sources of the acquisition and formation of the Japanese fund. Therefore, the article is divided into two sections. In both sections, the history of the DAAСL and the topic of international book exchange in the library are closely interconnected with the main topic of the article, the formation of the Japanese collection. The author also emphasizes the difficulties, negative factors and challenges faced by the fund and the library, not to underestimate the role of the Japanese collection of NLR, but to show what solutions were found throughout its history.

In this paper we have proposed a new theory about geometric shape conversion. Through a particular process where the number of steps of the process tends to infinity, keeping one or more shapes of two or more shapes the same throughout the whole process and by gradually changing its size, shifting another shape toward another specific new size or new shape is the main topic of discussion of the theory. Again, if the shape that changes its size does not shift toward another specific new size or new shape then it is considered as error and this theory also discussed the properties of that error.

The Church constantly responds to the call to evangelize as it is aware of its missionary duty. Theological reflection on the mission of the Church was the main topic of the encyclical of John Paul II Redemptoris missio. This article attempts to examine the extent to which this papal teaching is undertaken in the preaching of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate. The author points to the thematic areas of the encyclical that the Oblates refer to in their preaching, and presents issues that are missing in the published texts of the sermons.

AbstractIn the spring of 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 virus caused the Covid-19 pandemic, bringing with it drastic changes and challenges for health systems and medical staff. Among the affected were obstetricians and midwives, whose close physical contact with pregnant women, women who recently gave birth, and their children was indispensable. In the obstetric setting, births cannot be postponed, and maternity staff had to adapt to assure obstetric safety while balancing evidence-based standards with the new challenges posed by the pandemic. This scoping review gives a comprehensive overview of the effecs the Covid-19 pandemic had on maternity staff. We followed the evidence-based approach described by Arksey & O’Malley: we searched several databases for English and German articles published between January 2020 and January 2021 that discussed or touched upon the effects the pandemic had on maternity staff in OECD countries and China. We found that structural challenges caused by the crisis and its subjective effects on maternity staff fell into two main topic areas. Structural challenges (the first main topic) were divided into five subtopics: staff shortages and restructuring; personal protective equipment and tests; switching to virtual communication; handling women with a positive SARS-CoV-2 infection; and excluding accompanying persons. The pandemic also strongly affected the staff’s mental health (the second main topic.) Attempting to meet challenges posed by the pandemic while afraid of contamination, suffering overwork and exhaustion, and struggling to resolve ethical-moral dilemmas had severe negative subjective effects. Several studies indicated increased depression, anxiety, stress levels, and risk of post-traumatic stress symptoms, although the crisis also generated strong occupational solidarity. Care for pregnant, birthing, and breast-feeding women cannot be interrupted, even during a pandemic crisis that requires social distancing. Maternity staff sometimes had to abandon normal standards of obstetric care and were confronted with enormous challenges and structural adjustments that did not leave them unscathed: their mental health suffered considerably. Researchers should study maternity staff’s experiences during the pandemic to prepare recommendations that will protect staff during future epidemics.
