The traditional online teaching adopts the single architecture to develop and implement the system, which facilitates the data sharing and testing of the system. However, due to the increasing complexity of the system's business functions, the system based on monolithic architecture has become increasingly complex, its scalability has deteriorated, and its concurrency performance has decreased. Based on these problems, this paper puts forward combining microservice architecture and online teaching platform, using microservice architecture independent deployment, concurrent performance characteristics such as high technology selection and flexible, the complex business function is divided into several small service module, solve the challenges faced by the traditional system, at the same time improve the efficiency of the use of online teaching platform and students' learning autonomy, The system function design, architecture design, safety design and so on are expounded to build an efficient and perfect online teaching platform.

This chapter examines two approaches to the concept of management and the planning process: firstly the approach proposed by Bailey and Peak and secondly by Sorensen. Bailey and Peak present a review of all business functions to determine the competency of each function and then suggest a number of research and analysis techniques for reviewing the finances and the various external interactions with the organisation from competitors. Sorensen proposes using the resource-based view to analyse the competitive situation, followed by creating the business model and then developing the planning documents for business development. Sorensen asserts that ‘what the customer values' is a focal point of the approach to business development. The internal strength and weakness analysis investigates the value chain, processes, resources, and capabilities, and the external opportunities and threat analysis review customers, market, and competitors.

In today's world, digitalisation, as a process that results from the adoption of digital technologies and application systems built on those technologies, holds an important place in business functions and processes. Digitalisation is considered to be the engine of transformation and has significantly affected the tourism industry. China, one of the leading countries of digitalisation, launched the ‘New Silk Road Project' to revive the Silk Road, which is of great historical importance from an economic, cultural, and political point of view. Since the New Silk Road Project planned for the improvement of land and railway routes connecting China to Europe through Central Asia is of critical importance for countries along the road, it will also contribute to the revival of Silk Road tourism. This type of tourism is instrumental in protecting and preserving cultural heritage values located across the Silk Road and thus can be given a new perspective with opportunities brought by digitalisation. This study sought to discuss the reconstruction of Silk Road Tourism through digitalization.

PurposeThis paper has two objectives: first, to investigate the state-of-the-art of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) adoption in Italian manufacturing firms and, second, to understand variations in technologies implemented and business functions involved, benefits perceived, and obstacles encountered in I4.0 implementation over a three-year period.Design/methodology/approachThe approach adopted in this research is descriptive, nesting longitudinal features. The paper presents a descriptive survey of 102 Italian manufacturing companies. The authors also evaluated non-response biases. The longitudinal approach was achieved by comparing the responses of the 40 sub-samples in common with a second similar survey launched three years prior, which aimed to identify patterns of evolution in the adoption of the I4.0 paradigm.FindingsSurvey findings demonstrate that Italian manufacturing companies still have limited awareness of I4.0 technologies, and the adoption of I4.0 technologies differs per technology. Company size and information system coverage level are the two factors that impact the company's technology adoption level. The comparative study shows that knowledge and adoption increase in a three-year interval with an unbalanced involvement of business functions regarding the I4.0 transformation. Indeed, companies are still seeking I4.0 solutions to reduce costs and lead times primarily, and the benefits perceived by companies are shown to be related to the number of I4.0 technologies in use. Finally, when companies put the I4.0 technologies into practice, competence is constantly considered the most significant barrier.Research limitations/implicationsThis paper aims at conducting a thorough investigation into the development of I4.0 adoption in manufacturing companies. The main limitation of this study concerns the limited number of subjects involved in the longitudinal study (40) and the focus on a limited geographical area (Italy). In addition, more I4.0 technologies could also be incorporated into the survey protocol to gain further insight into I4.0 development.Originality/valueThe authors provide one of the first attempts to assess the variations of I4.0 implementation concerning technology adoption, business function involvement, and the alteration of benefits and obstacles. Several studies presented in the literature highlight the lack of longitudinal studies investigating the development of the I4.0 paradigm in a specific manufacturing context: this paper is the attempt at filling this gap.

By consulting the research of numerous specialists in management sciences, it has been observed, over the years, an ever-increasing value for human resources in companies. Not only has the role and importance of human resources changed, but they have become strategic assets. This gives even more importance to human resources and HRM. Long regarded as a support activity for other business functions, Human Resources Management (HRM) now represents a strategic tool that allows any business to stand out from its competitors. Changing mentalities, technological advancements, as well as mistakes of the past, have allowed HRM to become an extremely important area in organizations. Moreover, in recent years, the pioneers of the discipline of HRM seem more and more to agree that HRM is now an essential element in achieving the main organizational objectives. For several years now, HRM has been of interest in scientific debates in management sciences. It remains a relatively young discipline among the different branches of management. In order to better understand the theories and current practices concerning HRM, it is interesting to define the main concepts and to look at the main phases of its history. In order to provide an objective, clear and synthetic vision, we relied on a structured and in-depth literature review by consulting the main books, scientific publications, reports, theses, and magazines specializing in the field.

Due to rapid IT advances and escalated globalization, business digitalization has been accelerating. However, the average success rate of such endevors remains low. As an attempt to reveal why the digital transformation of a business is still so risky, this research analyzes how commonly encountered risks in IS projects are responded to and how the responses affect project outcomes. Resulting from the authors' previous work, they hypothesize that information systems are much more complex as they play an increasingly pivotal role in executing most business functions, and subsequently, the risk pattern of IS projects may have evolved, and that as businesses keep adding more information systems to the enterprise infrastructure, rather than via a piecemeal approach, a framework for enterprise-wide digital integration must be established to guide and evaluate business digitalization. The finding from this research should largely validate their hypotheses and allow them to call for a refocus of the efforts on digitalizing an enterprise.

Along with the rising demand for companies to facilitate business functions more efficiently, information technology has increasingly become a vehicle to bring about the convenience and efficiency that companies require to promote effective business operations. With such reliance upon information technology solutions comes the potential for companies to become more vulnerable to possible security incidents with their increased reliance upon third-party vendors for software solutions. This paper seeks to explore the software company SolarWinds and analyze its 2020 security breach. This paper will discuss how the SolarWinds breach occurred, how IT Security Professionals perceived it, and the vulnerabilities within the SolarWinds system before the breach. It will also analyze and evaluate the lessons learned from the SolarWinds breach and explore security measures implemented after the attack
