Fifth-generation and beyond networks target multiple distributed network application such as Internet of Things (IoT), connected robotics, and massive Machine Type Communication (mMTC). In the absence of a central management unit, the device need to search and establish a route towards the destination before initializing data transmission. In this paper, we proposes a destination search and routing method for distributed 5G and beyond networks. In the proposed method, the source node makes multiple attempts to search for a route towards the destination by expanding disk-like patterns originating from the source node. The source node increases the search area in each attempt, accommodating more nodes in the search process. As a result, the probability of finding the destination increases, which reduces energy consumption and time delay of routing. We propose three variants of routing for high, medium, and low-density network scenarios and analyze their performance for various network configurations. The results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed solution is better than previously proposed techniques in terms of time latency and reduced energy consumption, making it applicable for 5G and beyond networks.

The presented paper introduces principal component analysis application for dimensionality reduction of variables describing speech signal and applicability of obtained results for the disturbed and fluent speech recognition process. A set of fluent speech signals and three speech disturbances—blocks before words starting with plosives, syllable repetitions, and sound-initial prolongations—was transformed using principal component analysis. The result was a model containing four principal components describing analysed utterances. Distances between standardised original variables and elements of the observation matrix in a new system of coordinates were calculated and then applied in the recognition process. As a classifying algorithm, the multilayer perceptron network was used. Achieved results were compared with outcomes from previous experiments where speech samples were parameterised with the Kohonen network application. The classifying network achieved overall accuracy at 76% (from 50% to 91%, depending on the dysfluency type).

Background: Millions of deaths due to various diseases have been reduced globally as well as in India since inception of vaccination programme. In order to avoid the instances of cold chain failure and ensure constant monitoring of temperature of cold chain equipment’s Electronic vaccine intelligence network (eVIN) technology was adopted by Government of India.Methods: A mixed methodology design with both qualitative as well as quantitative components were studied. This study was conducted in 16 immunization centres spread across the metropolitan Pune city in western Maharashtra.Results: Vaccine beneficiaries increased for polio 814 (3.25%), DPT1643 (21.79%), MR 9615 (23.02%) and IPV 2297 (23.58) vaccine after execution of eVIN app. Vaccine availability of BCG (6.04%), Polio (20.02%), MR (64.24%), IPV (11.38%) and hep B had increased as compared to the other vaccines. The vaccine wastage decreased for penta (8.64%), IPV (123.98%), TT (32.63%) and hep B (47%) vaccines post eVIN application compared to the pre eVIN. The qualitative study included in depth interviews, key informants’ interview and focus group discussions. Various themes and subthemes emerged like the user-friendliness of app, difficulties faced by health care workers, their suggestions for improvements in the app.Conclusions: The eVIN system is playing a pivotal role in effective and efficient management of vaccine supply, maintaining stock availability and monitoring. To reduce vaccine wastage usage of small dose vials in immunization sessions would be helpful.

<p>Today, the Internet plays an vital part in our society. We rely greatly on the Internet to work, to communicate and to entertain. The Internet is a very large and complex computer network, consisting of tens of thousands of networks called autonomous systems (ASes). The key routing protocol for interdomain routing between ASes, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), was invented three decades ago. Although BGP has undergone many improvements, many fundamental problems and limitations of BGP still exist today. For instance, BGP does not have the resiliency to attacks and good support for traffic engineering. To date, many evolutionary and revolutionary solutions have been proposed to address these problems. However, very few were adopted. While there are many reasons for this limited adoption, one may blame for the lack of deployability, scalability and more importantly adequate functionality.   SDN is a new networking paradigm that decouples the control plane and data plane. SDN breaks the ossification of the Internet and enables network innovations. SDN has been thoroughly investigated for the enterprise environment. This research investigates the application of SDN for interdomain routing in transit ASes. Specifically, the main goal is to study how SDN capabilities can be utilised to develop a scalable, programmable and flexible routing architecture for transit ISPs.</p>
