Objective: To evaluate the awareness & practices regarding weaning in lactating mothers of infants. Design: A crosssectional descriptive study. Setting: At pediatrics OPD in Ghurki Trust Teaching hospital, Lahore. Period: From Octoberto December 2007.Methodology: A non probability convenience sampling was done to collect data from 50 mothers who were attending out patient departmentalong with their infants on a pre-formed questionnaire. After gathering, data was analyzed & presented in the form of tables & graphs.Results: In the present study, 66% mothers were in the age group of 20-29 years, all were house wives, 34 % were matriculate and 72%lived in joint family system, Mean age of weaning was 4-6 months in more than 64 % of the sample. Among the women interviewed, 44%used home-made weaning diets, 30% used mixture of homemade and commercially prepared diets, while 16% used only commerciallyprepared diets. Breast feeding was continued during and after weaning, by 64% of respondents along with weaning diets. Conclusion:Mothers need to be educated about the importance of weaning, the recommended age of weaning and about the types of weaning food.This can be achieved by using lady health workers and lady health visitors and the mass media. Importance of continued breast feedingwith weaning diet should be emphasized upon.
<p style="text-align: justify;">The emergence of digital technologies and a more global and digital society has brought about the need to develop and educate in Digital Citizenship, as well as to study how youth are taught to participate and learn citizenship in a digital age. This paper aims to explore the role of digital and socio-civic skills development, as facilitators for youth participation and analyses the relationship between sociodemographic variables (sex, age, educational level, and political ideology) with the participatory profile of participants. This is a study with a quantitative methodology, where, based on non-probabilistic convenience sampling, 534 young people between 16 and 35 years old from Spain, completed an online questionnaire regarding the development of digital and socio-civic skills. The results indicate how a participant’s participatory profile is related to other variables. In addition, significant differences are observed between the different participation profiles and digital and socio-civic skills, underlining that the development of digital and socio-civic skills are essential for educating in digital citizenship.</p>
Background: Educational video is a productive means to advocate lifestyle modifications such as changes in the dietary routine. This study assesses the understandability, actionability and suitability of newly developed educational videos aimed at encouraging dietary adjustments among hypertension patients. Method: In all, 183 participants were recruited via convenience sampling and rated the understandability, actionability and suitability of the videos using the Patient Education Materials Assessment Tool for Audio-Visual material (PEMAT-A/V) and the Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) scale. Results: Eleven videos were developed from five main topics related to the dietary management of hypertension. Participants agreed that all videos were highly understandable, actionable and suitable for use as educational tools, with scores of more than 85%, 89% and 80%, respectively. Conclusion/Implications: Overall, the newly developed videos gained high scores for understandability, actionability and suitability. This finding reflects positive acceptance of the videos among various healthcare professionals and patients with hypertension.
IELTS is popular in Vietnam thanks to its reliability and applicability. Writing task 2 has been acknowledged to be the most challenging for IELTS learners. However, in Vietnam, not much research has attempted to investigate in an in-depth manner as to what are the problems, causes, and consequently the suggestions of such a notion. The research hence aims to investigate the phenomenon in a more thorough, empirical manner. To this end, the study employed the participation of 205 IELTS learners from two language centers in Ho Chi Minh city to provide their opinions regarding the problems, causes, and recommendations deemed the most pressing, acute, and beneficial, respectively. With convenience sampling and survey being the chosen research design, the research was quantitative in nature, producing numerical data as a result. Further analysis conducted via comparing the means of the items listed in the questionnaire yielded based on the IELTS band descriptors managed to discover a series of problems, causes, and suggestions considered the most relevant to the Vietnamese learners concerning IELTS writing task 2. The research thus served as the basis for teachers and learners of IELTS writing task 2 to identify the recurrent issues and provide relatable approaches.

Dalam skenario ini, kekhawatiran yang jelas muncul bagi perusahaan dan pemerintah yang memastikan bagaimana perilaku pembelian konsumen akan terpengaruh oleh krisis Covid-19. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana motivasi dan perilaku pembelian konsumen di tengah krisis yang diakibatkan pandemi covid-19. , jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif-hipotesis testing research. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah convenience sampling. Hasil penelitian terhadap konsumen di masa krisis menunjukkan bahwa variabel hedonic berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap variabel Overall Covid – 19 Crisis Awerness , variabel Purchasing Categories basic needs product, dan variabel Purchasing Categories non basic needs product . PurposeThe purpose of the study was to examine the electricity challenges confronting slums in order to understand the health implications thereof.Design/methodology/approachThe study utilized purposive sampling techniques supported by the convenience sampling method within the context of qualitative research to select 30 interviewees of varying demographics for in-depth interviews.FindingsThe findings revealed that slums faced various forms of challenges that are attributable to lack of government support, stringent procedures and financial hardship, among others. The study also found that a lack of health education in the slums has resulted in health problems, such as skin diseases, stomach aches, cholera, typhoid and childbirth complications.Research limitations/implicationsThe outcome of this study cannot be generalized to represent the whole population of slums within context due to the qualitative approach.Practical implicationsThe study advanced the frontiers of slum literature to understand contextual issues that are important to policymakers and practitioners.Originality/valueThis study revealed a country-specific understanding of the challenges confronting slum dwellers in accessing electricity through the perspective of the two-factor theory of motivation.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi kerja karyawan dengan kompensasi. Penelitian dilakukan di “PT PAI”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan PT ”PAI”, sampel sebanyak 20 orang karyawan diambil dengan teknik convenience sampling. Perangkat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah perangkat kuesioner. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dan induktif. Perangkat analisis data yang digunakan adalah tabel distribusi frekuensi dan korelasi Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif kuat sebesar 0,983 dan signifikan antara motivasi kerja karyawan dengan kompensasinya pada PT ”PAI”.
This study aims to determine the relationship between employee motivation and compensation. The research was conducted at "PT PAI." This research is descriptive. The population in this study were all employees of PT "PAI." A sample of 20 employees was taken using the convenience sampling technique. The data collection device used is a questionnaire device, and the method used is descriptive and inductive methods. Data analysis tools used are frequency distribution table and Spearman correlation. The results showed a strong positive relationship of 0.983 and significant between employee motivation and compensation at PT "PAI."
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran self-care guru Bimbingan dan Konseling di SMA Negeri se-DKI Jakarta. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 195 guru BK dengan menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara online dengan menggunakan instrumen Professional Self-Care Scale. Hasil penelitian menunjukan pada umumnya self-care guru BK di SMA Negeri se-DKI Jakarta berada pada kategori tinggi dengan rerata sebesar 123.14. Sebanyak 184 guru BK (94.36%) memiliki self-care tinggi, terdapat 11 guru BK (5.64%) memiliki self-care sedang, dan tidak ada satupun guru BK yang memiliki self-care rendah. Pengembangan profesional mendapat rerata paling tinggi sebesar 6.20, sedangkan keseimbangan harian mendapat rerata terendah dengan skor 5.10. Strategi kognitif mendapati rerata sebesar 6.10, dukungan profesional mendapat rerata sebesar 5.90, dan keseimbangan hidup mendapat rerata sebesar 5.80. Hasil ini menunjukan bahwa guru BK mampu mencari peluang untuk pertumbuhan profesional dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan profesional yang menyenangkan, dapat memantau stres serta reaksi di tempat kerja, mampu menumbuhkan hubungan saling mendukung dengan rekan kerja, mampu membina hubungan dan kegiatan di luar pekerjaan, namun mereka masih membutuhkan pengembangan tentang mengelola tuntutan pekerjaan serta mengelola kegiatan sehari-hari.
To evaluate the indications of blood transfusion in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Government NaseerUllah Khan Babar Memorial Hospital.
This retrospective observational study was performed on indoor gynecology and obstetrics patients for the period of one year, a total of 100 patients were included in this study that received blood transfusion. Samples were collected by non-random convenience sampling after getting approval from the hospital ethical committee. Data was analyzed by using SPSS version 20.
In this study a total of 100 patients who received blood transfusion were analyzed, out of 100 patients 78% of patients received transfusion due to obstetrical causes and 22% patients got transfused for gynecological causes. Most common blood group transfused was B+ and O+ and mean hemoglobin level at which patients received blood transfusion was 9.7g/dl. Blood components preparation can provide components to treat two to three patients from a single donor. The use of packed cell transfusion should be promoted instead of whole blood transfusion that is not even needed in most of the cases.
Blood transfusion practice has been used aggressively in gynecology and obstetrics in some cases even without proper indications. There is a need to modify this practice by correcting anemia through drugs to avoid the inappropriate use of blood. Use of blood components should be encouraged.
Subscription-based Video-on-Demand streaming services (SVODs) are popular hits nowadays on the online platform. The success of these SVODs is indeed dependent on consumer acceptance; however, the preference of the latter might vary. This study focused on targeting the millennials, as they are the biggest consumers of SVODs, by looking at Facebook advertisements, social pressure, consumer attitude, and purchase intention as the driving variables. This study included 196 respondents gathered through convenience sampling and was statistically processed through a linear regression to help determine the significance between variables contributing to a consumer’s purchase intention of SVODs. Results show that social pressure and attitude significantly affect millennials' purchase intentions for SVODs in Central Luzon. Thus, the researchers recommend that SVOD companies develop Facebook advertisement content that is vigilant of their consumers' preferences, such as eliciting an attitude and social pressure. This study also suggests different strategies to capture millennials in Central Luzon further.
