ABSTRACT Objective: To develop a middle range nursing theory of impaired knowledge in individuals with heart failure. Methods: Descriptive study of the cross type developed through the theoretical-causal validity method, which used six steps for theory building: Definition of the construction approach; Definition of theoretical-conceptual models; Definition of main concepts; Development of a pictorial scheme; Construction of propositions; and Establishment of causal relations and evidence for practice. Results: Twenty-four articles were found, which identified two attributes, eight antecedents, and seven consequences, which gave rise to the pictogram, which schematized the concepts by relating them to cardiac physiology. Finally, 11 propositions and four causal relationships were created. Conclusion: The constructed theory enables a targeted driving of nurses’ clinical judgment regarding impaired knowledge in individuals with heart failure, culminating in individualized interventions to improve quality of life.

The zinc sheet roof is one of the most popular elements in Latin American architecture, and in many other regions with warm humid climates. Creating lighting and thermal alternatives focused on this typology would imply major benefits in the environmental and social fields. This study carried out in Manabí, Ecuador, evaluates three prototypes of light roofs, combining zinc with PVC, in order to determine the correct configuration of translucent material to create environments that are within thermal and lighting parameters. The results indicate that the empirical solutions model has the lowest variation in indoor temperature, with 32.63%, unlike the 32.97% of the cross-type model, and the 34.40% of the side strip model. Additionally, it was seen that the greatest influence of solar radiation on the roof is recorded from 1:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. approximately

The concept of cloud computing was created to better preserve user privacy and data storage security. However, the resources allocated for processing this data must be optimally allocated. The problem of optimal resource management in the loud computing environment is described in many scientific publications. To solve the problems of optimality of the distribution of resources of systems, you can use the construction and analysis of QS. We conduct an analysis of two-buffer queuing system with cross-type service and additional penalties, based on the literature reviewed in the article. This allows us to assess how suitable the model presented in the article is for application to cloud computing. For a given system different options for selecting applications from queues are possible, queue numbers, therefore, the intensities of transitions between the states of the system will change. For this, the system has a choice policy that allows the system to decide how to behave depending on its state. There are four components of such selection management models, which is a stationary policy for selecting a queue number to service a ticket on a vacated virtual machine each time immediately before service ends. A simulation model was built for numerical analysis. The results obtained indicate that requests are practically not delayed in the queue of the presented QS, and therefore the policy for a given model can be considered optimal. Although Poisson flow is the simplest for simulation, it is quite acceptable for performance evaluation. In the future, it is planned to conduct several more experiments for different values of the intensity of requests and various types of incoming flows.

Abstract In the present work, vibration control of a simply supported plate with line type and cross type piezoelectric (PZT) patches are investigated with and without actuation voltage. The plate is modeled under the assumption of Kirchhoff’s Plate theory. The mass of PZT patches remain constant in all cases. In case of actuation, applied voltage considered are 1, 2 and 3 mV. The external excitation to the plate is in the form of harmonically varying point load of 1 mN. It is noticed that cross type PZT patch is more effective in deflection suppression of plate than that of line type PZT patch at 3 mV of actuation at patch thickness of 0.75 μm. Suppression of central deflection of plate for line type and cross type PZT patches are obtained in different frequency bands of (175–185 Hz) and (870–880 Hz) respectively.

Two new species of the genus Crossodonthina (Collembola: Neanuridae: Neanurinae: Lobellini) are recorded from Mangshan National Nature Reserve, Chenzhou City, Hunan Province and Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, Guangdong Province, Central-South China. Crossodonthina clavata sp. nov. is characterized by 3+3 uncolored eyes on head; labral chaetotaxy as 0/2, 2; cephalic chaeta O present; cephalic tubercles Dl, L and So fused each other; mandible with 4 basal teeth and five fringed rami; maxilla with two lamellae and each lamella with two apical teeth. Crossodonthina acuminata sp. nov. can be recognized by 3 black eyes per side on head; mandible with 3 basal teeth and 8 rami; all cephalic tubercles independent, chaeta O on tubercle Fr present; cephalic tubercle Di, De on posterior area of head with 2 chaetae each, intermediate between cross and non-cross type chaetotaxy; tubercle De of Th. I with 3(2) chaetae; furcular remnant without chaeta. It is the first record of Neanuridae species from Mangshan National Nature Reserve.

In this work, we investigate sea surface temperature (SST) cooling under binary typhoon conditions. We particularly focus on parallel- and cross-type typhoon paths during four typhoon events: Tembin and Bolaven in 2012, and Typhoon Chan-hom and Linfa in 2015. Wave-induced effects were simulated using a third-generation numeric model, WAVEWATCH III (WW3), and were subsequently included in SST simulations using the Stony Brook Parallel Ocean Model (sbPOM). Four wave-induced effects were analyzed: breaking waves, nonbreaking waves, radiation stress, and Stokes drift. Comparison of WW3-simulated significant wave height (SWH) data with measurements from the Jason-2 altimeter showed that the root mean square error (RMSE) was less than 0.6 m with a correlation (COR) of 0.9. When the four typhoon-wave-induced effects were included in sbPOM simulations, the simulated SSTs had an RMSE of 1 °C with a COR of 0.99 as compared to the Argos data. This was better than the RMSE and COR recovered between the measured and simulated SSTs, which were 1.4 °C and 0.96, respectively, when the four terms were not included. In particular, our results show that the effects of Stokes drift, as well as of nonbreaking waves, were an important factor in SST reduction during binary typhoons. The horizontal profile of the sbPOM-simulated SST for parallel-type typhoon paths (Typhoons Tembin and Bolaven) suggested that the observed finger pattern of SST cooling (up to 2 °C) was probably caused by drag from typhoon Tembin. SST was reduced by up to 4 °C for cross-type typhoon paths (Typhoons Chan-hom and Linfa). In general, mixing significantly increased when the four wave-induced effects were included. The vertical profile of SST indicated that disturbance depth increased (up to 100 m) for cross-type typhoon paths because the mixing intensity was greater for cross-type typhoons than for parallel-type typhoons.

We present the enrichment of a French treebank of various genres with a new annotation layer for multiword expressions (MWEs) and named entities (NEs).1 Our contribution with respect to previous work on NE and MWE annotation is the particular care taken to use formal criteria, organized into decision flowcharts, shedding some light on the interactions between NEs and MWEs. Moreover, in order to cope with the well-known difficulty to draw a clear-cut frontier between compositional expressions and MWEs, we chose to use sufficient criteria only. As a result, annotated MWEs satisfy a varying number of sufficient criteria, accounting for the scalar nature of the MWE status. In addition to the span of the elements, annotation includes the subcategory of NEs (e.g., person, location) and one matching sufficient criterion for non-verbal MWEs (e.g., lexical substitution). The 3,099 sentences of the treebank were double-annotated and adjudicated, and we paid attention to cross-type consistency and compatibility with thesyntactic layer. Overall inter-annotator agreement on non-verbal MWEs and NEs reached 71.1%. The released corpus contains 3,112 annotated NEs and 3,440 MWEs, and is distributed under an open license.
