Low-wage workers continue to face high levels of exploitation in the workplace. The regulatory frameworks that exist to protect workers and provide avenues for redress for violations of workers’ rights rely on individual or collective claims-making by workers. Worker centers have developed creative mobilization strategies to support worker claims and build worker power in the low-wage labor market. This paper leverages qualitative case study data to better understand the process of worker claims-making and the psychosocial toll it can take on workers. Based on these case studies, this paper argues that worker centers and other alt-labor groups need to take into account the costs and challenges for workers endemic to the claims-making process under current regulatory regimes.

This paper demonstrates the application of business intelligence in decision-making in digital advertising through a case study. Data used for analysis was collected during a test phase of an advertising platform. The study analyzes multiple types of traffic, related to countries, browsers, household incomes, and days of a week. Beside tabular reports, the paper presents how to visualize those results using Python libraries to make them more visually appealing. Furthermore, logistic regression was used to build models to detect relationships between the number of impressions and clicks. Finally, the authors propose multiple combinations of data that could be used to create different reports that lead to smarter decision-making and cost-effectiveness.

This article promotes the value of GIS methodologies to integrate and analyze a range of historic sources dating to the eighteenth century, utilizing Charleston, South Carolina as a case study. Data compiled from the 1790 Federal Census, the 1790 Charleston trade directory, and Ichnography of Charleston 1788 provide vital and complementary evidence that allows the population of the city to be located, which in turn provides a means of assessing late eighteenth-century residency patterns and the enslaved urban population. The value of data visualization is explored, underscoring the need for historians to engage with visual representations of data to communicate research results.

It was mentioned that accounting classrooms must keep pace with rapidly changing technology, which is influencing all aspects of our daily lives. This study examined accounting teachers’ views on the use of technology in their classrooms during Covid-19. To this end, the researchers employed a qualitative approach and a case study. Data were obtained from accounting teachers through interviews, with the sample of ten participants having been purposively selected. The results indicated that allowing learners to bring their own personal technological devices to the classroom represented a contravention of the school’s constitution. Another result was that when technology is optimally used in the classroom, it makes available different forms of assistance which change the way learners learn. Researchers conclude that use of technology in accounting implemented compulsory if teachers want to keep up with changes accounting profession. Furthermore, schools’ constitutions need to be amended to promote the use of available technologies in the classroom, albeit in a highly structured, managed, and efficient way. Researchers recommend that learners be allowed to use their own personal devices in the classroom, to enhance learning. School principal be encouraged to develop school plans outlining how s/he would support use of technology in school.
