This research proposes to understand the relationship between the self-exposure of physical exercise practitioners on social media communication and consumption. To this end, we sought to identify the motivations for selfexposure of physical exercise practitioners on social media; identify the types of products consumed that are related to self-exposure on social media and verify the influence between self-exposure of physical exercise practitioners on social media and consumption. Qualitative research was applied, aided by semistructured interviews and by the projective autodriving technique. Twelve men who practice physical exercises in gyms were interviewed. Three categories emerged from the results: exhibitionism, encouraging healthy living and personal fulfillment as antecedents for the self-exposure of physical activity practitioners on social media, and the consumption of food, electronic, sports clothing, applications, and software products was identified, as a way to help the best image that will be exposed. Through the development of a framework, it was found that the self-exposure of the image influences both self-consumption and the consumption of followers. In addition, the concept of conspicuous consumption was broadened by relating the exposure of the conquest of the fitness body as an acquired good that provides social status.

The chapter aims to give a precise account of the notion of personal fulfillment. Two questions have been central to philosophy since its origins: How should I live? How should we live together? These questions should be rephrased—instead of striving for perfection, we should ask how to make human lives and human societies go better. The individual question is addressed by revising a standard liberal conception, according to which people should formulate the plans for their lives (their identities) autonomously. Probing the concept of autonomy, it is suggested that education consists in a delicate dialogue between society and the individual, in which the voices of both must be heard. This approach is elaborated by showing how it applies to the concrete proposals made in Chapter 2.

One traditionally important part of education, broadly conceived, is to foster moral development. Drawing on the long history of moral life, and using examples of moral progress, the chapter elaborates an approach to moral decision-making. It argues that the method used must be collective. No individual, whether sage, priest, prophet, philosopher, or professional ethicist, has the final authoritative word. Rather, moral reform should emerge from the style of deliberation identified in Chapter 4. This perspective is used to suggest ways of helping the moral growth of children, adolescents, and adults. Chapters 3–5 thus combine in a synthetic picture of how two of the main goals of education—personal fulfillment and morally responsible citizenship—might be achieved together.

The article substantiates the concept of socio-pedagogical activities of a biology teacher and the basics of health in the mutual unity of its components. Peculiarities of social and pedagogical activity in accordance with its purpose in the system of modern natural knowledge are determined. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between theoretical calculations and practical implementation of methods and areas of social pedagogy, which is reflected in the essential features of socio-pedagogical activities as the main means of implementing social education. The system of theoretical bases of modernization of training of the future teacher of biology and bases of health is considered by authors as formation of personal properties of students of pedagogical ZVO. In the process of socio-pedagogical activities of the teacher is socio-cultural education of the younger generation, which provides targeted impact on each individual and team in order to master the heritage of universal and national culture, implementation of social values ​​and development of positive qualities. Training in the implementation of socio-pedagogical activities in educational institutions helps future professionals to understand their belonging to a community that has its own traditions and cultural characteristics, provides socialization and personal fulfillment. The study is based on the socio-cultural paradigm of education, as the main in determining the socio-pedagogical professional trajectory of biology teachers and the basics of health

Objective: Determine the healthy lifestyle and work stress in Nurses who care for patients with COVID -19, at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, Lima, 2020. Study: Quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional approach and non-experimental design. Population: it was made up of the 65 nurses who work in the Covid-19 area. Instruments: 2 questionnaires were used: Healthy lifestyle, consisting of 3 dimensions: physical activity, eating habits, sleep dimension. Work stress, which consists of 3 dimensions: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal fulfillment. Both instruments with Likert scale were validated by expert judgment with a reliability of 0.8 and 0.7 respectively. The results found that there is a correlation between both variables. In addition, it predominates in nurses who mostly have inadequate healthy lifestyles. Also, the moderate level of stress is a problem affected in their emotional health in times of pandemic. It is concluded that it is important before these health problems require the implementation of improvement plans to promote self-care and avoid occupational health problems.

Although there has been a rich amount of research about lifelong learning providing benefits such as economic advancement and personal fulfillment, less is known about factors that increase or decrease a person’s likelihood of pursuing it. Nonetheless, knowing these predictors and barriers can have practical consequences on encouraging people to have continued education. Using a national US dataset ( n = 1651), our analyses showed people’s pursuit of different lifelong learning modalities and revealed significant predictors and barriers of lifelong learning. Counterintuitively, employment and time constraints did not prevent individuals from pursuing educational opportunities; they actually helped predict it. Additionally, limited information—rather than cost—was a stronger driver in preventing people from pursuing lifelong learning. Taken together, the research has implications for encouraging people to pursue lifelong learning.

The article identifies and analyzes the paradigm of educational information environment formation in the technical higher educational institutions. The authors presented the paradigm based on the humanitarization of higher education, which aims to provide valuable guidance and motivation to establish criteria for creating conditions for self-development and personal fulfillment of future engineers. The article argues that revealing of the integrity of education and regulating scientific, research and practical innovation of training activities and educational paradigm should be considered in conjunction. The pedagogical paradigms of professional training of future engineers in the educational and information environment of a technical university enable determining the content of academic disciplines. In general, the analysis of the dynamics of formation and development of the paradigm helps to preserve the principles of learning and a genetic nucleus of the national pedagogical science and practice.

Objective:  Burnout is a real threat for healthcare professionals and is growing exponentially in our modern societies. Our study aims to determine the prevalence of burnout among dentists in Rabat, Sale, and Kenitra region and look for the associated factors.Method: This is a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional epidemiological study carried out in 2019 with a group of 120 dentists using a self-administered questionnaire; burnout was assessed by the French version of the Maslash Burnout Inventory (MBI).Results: A total of 100 dentists participated in the study (response rate of 83.33%) with a female predominance at 56% and an average age of 38 years. Severe burnout affected 25% of participants, and only 3% presented low burnout for all three dimensions (According to Maslach's Burnout Inventory). The percentages of the MBI sub-dimensions were as follows: 47% had high emotional exhaustion, 51% had high depersonalization, and 42% had low personal fulfillment. High depersonalization was associated with unmarried status (p = 0.019) and working alone (p = 0.002).Conclusion: 25% of the dentists in our study were affected by severe burnout, which presents a worrying result proving that burnout is a reality in our country. The contributing factors were working alone in the office and being unmarried, and the essential protective element seemed to work in association.

Purpose Given the unclear lines between traditional and newly emerged luxury, this research aims to explore which luxury consumption values are important to young consumers (aged 18–44) in the USA and how such new luxury consumption is driven by their personal values. This research thus has two aims. The first is to define new luxury by examining the consumption values that distinguish it from traditional luxury. The second is to examine the personal values that drive these new luxury consumption values, which affect consumers’ intentions to engage with a new luxury brand. Design/methodology/approach Two studies were conducted. In Study 1, a conceptual framework was developed to define new luxury from the consumption value perspective, based on a comprehensive review of the traditional luxury and emerging or new luxury literature. In Study 2, the framework was further extended to include the driving sources (personal values) and the consequences (intentions to engage with a new luxury brand), which were subsequently examined with empirical model testing. The data were collected via an online survey with consumers recruited through Amazon Mechanical Turk (n = 318) and examined with exploratory factor analyses and path analyses. Findings The results suggest five major new luxury consumption values that help empirically define new luxury, revealing a trend shift in luxury consumption: inconspicuous consumption, self-directed pleasure, intrinsic experiential value, personal fulfillment and sustainability. Among these five values, three (intrinsic experiential value, personal fulfillment and sustainability) were the most significant factors in directly affecting customer intention to engage with a new luxury brand. The results also found five notable personal values driving new luxury consumption: achievement, benevolence, self-direction, self-esteem and ecocentrism. Originality/value While new luxury concepts have been explored conceptually and qualitatively in previous studies, there is a lack of empirical research that clearly defines what new luxury is and that offers testable constructs. This study’s empirical framework for new luxury expands the line of investigation into new luxury consumers, brands and products.

In this paper, we draw on Foucault’s concept “governmentality” to show how a cohort of middle-aged senior managers who engaged in competitive endurance sports fabricated (avowed) “heroic” leader identities drawing on this repertoire of discursive resources. Neoliberalism constitutes a form of governmentality which encourages people to regard themselves as autonomous and to aspire to personal fulfillment by investing entrepreneurially in themselves as “human capital.” Healthism, which requires individuals be responsible for their own health and wellbeing, is one program by which this is accomplished. We analyze managers’ talk about themselves as people who self-examined, and sought continually to transform (improve) themselves, to avow identities as superior (heroic) leaders. Our study contributes to the literature on governmentality by showing how in neoliberalism “healthism” constructs managers as enterprising selves.
