The author generalizes the results of library user survey. The survey was held within the framework of the study “Webometric monitoring of libraries”. The study goal was to assess the virtual geography of library website users and to specify target audience. The user audience of 11 library websites was assessed by following criteria: geographical data (user location, probable user residence area); user demographic data (sex, age); loyalty indicators (bounce rate, visit depth, visit duration); website user desired actions (estimation of desired action conversion). Based on the findings, the author concludes that: library offline services impact website user geography; there is a close interdependence between library location and website traffic; users resident in the library region make the most loyal website users; women prevail in the library user audience. The target website user audience is identified; recommendations are offered for the further strategic development in the web-space. The study conclusions and recommendations would facilitate generated demanded content and efficient promotion of library information resources and services in the web-space.

The purpose of the article is to define and highlighting the role of digital transformation (digitalization) for libraries in the long run: efficiency and problems. Methodology. In the process of research scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization of digitalization of the library industry are applied and the influence of digitalization on the formation of innovations of models of relations library-user taking into account today's civilizational challenges is determined. The scientific novelty The research consists in the analysis of online perspectives in the work of the library industry with an emphasis on key aspects of the dynamics of digital transformation (digitalization): new mobile (electronic) applications, services, application of sharing models. Further key vectors are substantiated and specific most problematic issues of digital transformation of libraries are identified. Conclusions. As a result of the research, today's steps on digitization in libraries, features of the use of platforms, virtual environment services, and sharing products were considered. The tendencies concerning the further steps in the increase of rates of digitalization are investigated. Proved: the practice of digitalization of libraries is especially relevant during the COVID pandemic period, which contributes to public access to information, self-education, as well as access to advanced technological developments, the transformation of libraries taking into account requests, according to generation theory, formation of new digitalization focus of library practices and modifications of library activities.

The study investigated utilization of information and communication technology-based information resources in library user education programmes in South-South Nigeria. Four research questions and one hypothesis guided the study. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study comprised 1022 respondents which consist of 62 staff and 960 library users. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire of a four-point rating scale and observation checklist. Tools used for data analysis of research questions were frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation; t-test was used to test the null hypothesis at selected probability of 0.05 level significance. The findings revealed that the ICT facilities available are limited for effective utilization of ICT-based information resources in library user education programmes. The study reveals that ICT-based resources listed in the table were utilized to high extent in South-South colleges of education libraries for user education programmes. It also shows that poor funding was the major challenge of utilization of ICT-based resources for user education programmes in colleges of education libraries under study.

In libraries, the role of communication is very much needed in everyday life, where a library user and librarian can often interact and later can connect good communication in a library. Library users do not only ask for books, but library users will ask for information, therefore librarians are expected to be able to think creatively, inspire, and be able to motivate their librarians. The method used is the Journal of Analysis which has been published scientifically through e-books, e-journals, and scholarships which are then analyzed into short and descriptive journals. From the analysis I got that communication in the library is very important because it can connect communication between library users and librarians who can give positive responses to each other.

Purpose The study aims to analyse library user preferences in the willingness to read and pay for e-books, using a sample of both active readers (users of public library services) and non-users (the general population). Design/methodology/approach Two empirical surveys were conducted from August to November of 2019; the research sample consisted of 1,334 users from the Municipal Library of Prague and 1,101 non-users from the general Czech population. The research was focussed on e-book user preferences. The willingness to pay (WTP) for e-book services and the determinants that affect this willingness were also examined. Findings The results show the specific approach of Czech readers, whose main determinant of WTP is not the content, but the price and method of its payment (allocation). Some people prefer a cheaper annual lump sum, whereas others may prefer a charge of small regular fees. The decision to pay depends on their reading or payment habits. Originality/value This study also aims to clarify the demand for various types of digital media in Czech libraries and the preferred distribution models. Furthermore, the study determines the dependence of the preferences of library users in their WTP for e-books using different evaluation models. The originality of this study is in the evaluation of the determinants of WTP for e-books, which makes this study unique, and the findings should contribute to the expansion of existing knowledge in the field of information science.

This study was conducted to examine antecedents that influence acceptance of e-books in Tanzania. The study extended TAM model with accessibility, perceived cost, and technological support to develop a conceptual model that was used to examine acceptance of e-books in Tanzania. Quantitative study was conducted using self-administered questionnaire in which snowball technique was used to identify potential respondents. The questionnaires were distributed using online Google form, and 314 usable responses were collected. A multivariate data analysis technique known as structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to establish relationships between the hypothesized relationships. The findings show that perceived ease-of-use, accessibility, and technical support have significant effect on acceptance of e-books in Tanzania. Several implications that will lead to acceptance of e-books in Tanzania are provided.

Library anxiety is a type of fear that is associated with library user who becomes uncomfortable when using the library and its facilities. The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between affective tendency, sex and library anxiety amongundergraduate students and it’s implications for counselling using University of Benin ascase study. A correlational research design was used to select a sample size of 200 from apopulation of 1546 registered users using simple random technique. Data was collectedusing the Affective Tendency and Library Anxiety Scale (ATLAS) adapted from Bostick(1992). The reliability was determined at 0.83 Cronbach Alpha. The results indicatedthere is no significant relationship between affective tendency and library anxiety, whilesex differ significantly with library anxiety. Counsellors should engage students onorientation programmes and give out guidelines on how to study and read effectively inthe library.
