AbstractAlthough research suggests that the use of child-initiated vs. teacher-directed instructional practices in early childhood education has implications for learning and development, the precise nature of these effects remains unclear. Using data from the Midwest Child-Parent Center (CPC) Expansion Project, the present study examined the possibility that a blend of child- and teacher-directed practices best promotes school readiness among preschoolers experiencing high levels of sociodemographic risk and explored whether the optimal blend varies based on child characteristics. Sixty-two CPC preschool teachers reported their instructional practices throughout the year, using a newly developed questionnaire—the Classroom Activity Report (CAR). The average reported proportion of child-initiated instruction was examined in relation to students’ end-of-year performance on a routine school readiness assessment (N = 1289). Although there was no main effect of child-initiated instruction on school readiness, there was a significant interaction between instruction and student age. Four-year-olds’ school readiness generally improved as the proportion of child-initiated time increased, while 3-year-olds showed a U-shaped pattern. The present findings add to the evidence that child-initiated instruction might support preschoolers’ school readiness, although they also suggest this relation may not always be linear. They also point to the importance of examining instructional strategies in relation to student characteristics, in order to tailor strategies to the student population. The CAR has potential as a brief, practical measurement tool that can support program monitoring and professional development.

At the end of 2019, it was found that there was a very fast mutating virus called the Covid-19 virus, this virus causes diseases ranging from coughs to colds to death, efforts to prevent the spread of this virus by limiting the social scale of the community which causes a decrease in the number of blood donors which has an impact on the amount of blood stock in Blood Donation Unit. The objective of this study was to determine the description of blood donors based on blood type, gender, age, and type of donor at Blood Donation Unit Bantul Regency in 2020. This study was an activity report by observing secondary data obtained from Blood Donation Unit Bantul Regency. The number of donors was 8.212 donors, of which the number of donations from inside the building was 5.936 donors (72,28%), and the number of donations from mobile units was 2.276 donors (27,72%). The results showed that the majority of blood donors were blood group 0, which was 3.506 (42,69%), and the least blood type was AB, which was 468 (5.70%). The majority of the gender of the donor was male, namely 7.020 (85,48%), for female, 1.192 (14,52%). The majority of donors are aged 17-24 years, namely 1.738 (21,16%), and at least 65 years old 45 (0,55%). The majority of voluntary donors were 5.151 (62,73%), and the subtitute/ family donors were 1.034 (12,59%). There were 8.212 blood donors where the majority of blood group 0 was 3.506 (42,69%), male sex was 7.020 (85,48%), in the 17-24 year age group 1.738 (21,16%), and repeated voluntary donors were 5.151 (62,73%).

In the administrative archive of the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation, we find the administrative documentation of the Museu do Homem do Nordeste (Muhne) since its foundation in 1979. By exploring this documentation, it was possible to observe the set of education initiatives in museums developed by the Muhne team in the 1990s. We found copies of the plans and reports of the educational program called "Didactic Boxes" dating from 1996 and 1997. Consulting the project, the activity report, the printed material containing instructions for using the didactic boxes and the disclosure pamphlet and the photos of the activities we understand the characteristics of the activity. The analysis of this specific action allowed us to perceive the set of epistemological principles that guided the museum team in their educational actions in the 1990s. Keywords: Didactic Boxes. AbstractReplantation of amputated hands is now considered a routine procedure in countries representing high standards of medical care. However, organization of care for patients with hand amputations is not uniform and varies from country to country, even in the European Union. This article presents organization of the Replantation Service for hand amputations in Poland, and ten-year activity report of the Service. Data to this report were obtained by mailing questionnaires to seven participating departments.A total of 974 patients, 871 men (89 %) and 103 women (11 %) at a mean age of 40 years with total or subtotal amputations or other severe upper limb-threatening injuries were admitted to the seven units participating in the Service. The most common injury was multidigital amputation – 353 (36 %), followed by the thumb – 282 (29 %), the metacarpal and wrist – 231 (24 %) and the forearm and arm – 108 (11 %) amputations. The most common operation was replantation of totally amputated hands/fingers – 368 cases (38 %), followed by revascularization of subtotal amputated hands/fingers – 344 (35 %). Primary reconstruction of a complex injury to the hand was performed in 135 patients (14 %). The rate of survival of the replanted/revascularized hands/fingers was a mean of 80 %. The report is supported by literature review about replantation services in other countries.

Student daily activity records are kept as documentation tools to monitor the development of students' academic and non-academic abilities in capturing the learning process. The student's daily activity record is carried out by Purba Adhi Suta Elementary School. Purba Adhi Suta Elementary School is located in Purbalingga Regency which is located at Jalan Letnan Jenderal S.Parman Number 19 B Purbalingga. The obstacles faced by Purba Adhi Suta Elementary School in the form of the process of recording student activities are still done manually so that there is often a delay in managing the data of students' daily activity records and delays in the collection of student activity record recap books. The software development method used is a prototype. In this method the steps taken are the identification of user needs, making prototypes, adjusting prototypes, creating new systems, testing the system and using the system. From the results of the benefit test it can be concluded that functionally the system has produced the output as expected. Thus it can be concluded that the Android-Based Student Daily Activity Report Information System at Adhi Suta Elementary School purbalingga regency can help improve time efficiency in the creation of recap of student activity reports.

Abstract Background The relapsing nature of Plasmodium vivax infection is a major barrier to its control and elimination. Factors such as adequate dosing, adherence, drug quality, and pharmacogenetics can impact the effectiveness of radical cure of P. vivax and need to be adequately evaluated. CYP2D6 pathway mediates the activation of primaquine (primaquine) into an active metabolite(s) in hepatocytes, and impaired activity has been linked to a higher risk of relapse. Cases presentation Three patients diagnosed with P. vivax malaria presented repeated relapses after being initially treated with chloroquine (25 mg/kg) and primaquine (3.5 mg/kg in 14 days) at a non-endemic travel clinic. Recurring episodes were subsequently treated with a higher dose of primaquine (7 mg/kg in 14 days), which prevented further relapses in two patients. However, one patient still presented two episodes after a higher primaquine dose and was prescribed 300 mg of chloroquine weekly to prevent further episodes. Impaired CYP2D6 function was observed in all of them. Conclusion Lack of response to primaquine was associated with impaired CYP2D6 activity in three patients presenting multiple relapses followed in a non-endemic setting. Higher primaquine dosage was safe and effectively prevented relapses in two patients and should be further investigated as an option in Latin America. It is crucial to investigate the factors associated with unsuccessful radical cures and alternative therapeutic options.
