Massive amounts of mussel shell waste are generated and wasted from the aquaculture processing sectors, resulting in environmental pollution. This material contains chitosan as a valuable compound characterized as a non-toxic structural component with several food processing applications or medicinal applications. In this research, mussel shells were processed using different solvents concentrations in several stages: demineralization, deproteination, decolourization, and deacetylation. Our result showed that the C2 samples gained a high degree of deacetylation (31.8±0.21%) with low moisture and ash content and medium weight of yield. Further research is recommended to purify chitosan using various instrumentation and assess its bioactivity.

Purpose. To create a personalized tactic of surgical treatment of patients with BSD and MJ considering the stage of the pathological process and thereby improve the results of treatment. Materials and methods. The experience of diagnosis and treatment of 537 patients with complications of cholelithiasis, manifested by mechanical jaundice, was analyzed. The first stage was 537 minimally invasive decompressions of the biliary tract, the second-500 different types of endosurgical interventions. Results. Depending on the tactical principles, all the subjects were divided into two groups. In one (control) group (n = 249), patients were admitted from 2010 to 2014. Their treatment was empirical: decompression of the bile tree was performed at different times, and surgery was performed without taking into account the stages of the pathological process and the severity of the patients. In the other analyzed group (n = 251), patients were admitted to the hospital from 2015 to 2019. Their treatment tactics were personalized: taking into account the stages of mechanical jaundice. individual terms of decompression of the bile ducts and the choice of surgical intervention were determined. When comparing the results obtained, the advantage of the personalized approach was established: a decrease in the percentage of postoperative complications and mortality was revealed. Conclusion. In patients with cholelithiasis and jaundice, the severity of the condition is due to hyperbilirubinemia. Stage 2 of mechanical jaundice-determined by the severity of cytolysis in hepatic insufficiency, manifested by hypertransaminasemia. The severity of cholangitis is determined by purulent-inflammatory, as well as septic signs of the disease, characterized by leukocytosis, circulating immune complexes and medium-weight molecules. In the cholestatic stage of jaundice development, treatment is planned, in the cytolytic stage — urgent, and in cholangitis-emergency. The use of personalized tactics for the treatment of patients with breast cancer has reduced the number of complications and mortality.

Air conditioning is responsible for a considerable proportion of households’ electricity bills. During summer afternoons when households usually run their air conditioners, the retail time-of-use electricity tariffs are highest, and there is a peak demand in the electricity network. Pre-cooling is a method to shift air conditioning demand from peak hours to hours with lower demand and cheaper electricity tariffs. In this research, the pre-cooling potential of nine different types of residential housing in Sydney constructed with different star ratings and construction weights is evaluated. Star rating is the method to represent the annual heating and cooling requirements of buildings in Australia. Results highlight that pre-cooling produces cost saving for most of the days in 6-star and 8-star buildings. For 2-star buildings, pre-cooling sometimes leads to higher electricity costs. Moreover, pre-cooling improves thermal comfort, especially in 2-star light and medium weight buildings.

Alkaloids as green inhibitors were extracted from three different plants Rhynchostylis retusa, Artimesia vulgaris, and Solanum tuberosum. Weight loss measurement in mild steel has been carried out in the presence and absence of green inhibitors individually in an acidic medium. Weight loss measurements at different temperatures are used to calculate thermodynamic parameters. The weight loss measurements at different concentrations are used to find adsorption isotherm and found that it obeys Langmuir adsorption isotherm with R2 values 1, 1, 0.996 for three inhibitors. Activation energy, enthalpy, and entropy of the three inhibitors have been calculated. It is found that the value of all these parameters increased in the addition of inhibitors. The free energy of the system is calculated and found (-17.46 kJ mol-1) indicating that the adsorption process is spontaneous and there is physical adsorption at the MS-Inhibitor interface.

Abstract Aim The Madrid APPROACH is the combination of an absorbable mesh and a permanent retromuscular mesh for the treatment of the complex abdominal wall problems. It has been controversial because of the need of two different meshes. We present a clinic case to show the utility of this technique and how it allows rebuilding the inguinal ligament. Material and Methods 78 years old woman who underwent a right ilioinguinal and obturatriz lymphadenectomy due to a melanoma. Incisional hernia fixed in 2018 with a retromuscular polyester mesh. New incisional iliac hernia (L3) over the right iliac vessels, with an absence of inguinal ligament, right rectus atrophy, and the previous mesh being part of the sac. Surgery: incision over the previous scar. Wide dissection of the preperitoneal space, Retzius space and lateral to the cuadratus lumborum, retrodiafragmatic dissection, lateral transverse abdominus release, and cross-over to the retrorectal left space. Preperitoneal BioA mesh and an upper 40x40cm medium weight polipropilene mesh set to both Cooper ligaments. Results After two and a half months, a PET-TC showed the BioA mesh perfectly adapted to the abdominal wall and rebuilt a new inguinal ligament. Also intense FDG capitation of the mesh due to the high cellular metabolism. Two years later the patient has a continent abdominal wall, the follow up TC shows the disappearance of the absorbable mesh and the perfect abdominal wall rebuilt. Conclusions The BioA mesh acts like a tissue scaffold for new conjunctive tissue as we see the intense FDG captation. The Madrid APPROACH allows giving response to very complex abdominal wall problems.

Purpose Bond strength is an indicator of the quality of the fusing process. The study's primary purpose is to predict the bond strength using easily measurable variables. This study focuses on shirting fabrics fused with woven interlinings and changes in bond strength before and after washing. Design/methodology/approach This study attempts to model and predict bond strength of fused shirt composites using an initial screening design followed by full factorial design of experiments. After screening out, those found significantly affecting the bond strength are fabric fiber content, interlining areal weight and fusing temperature. This study proposes the regression models explaining the effect of the three variables on bond strength before and after washing the fused composites. Findings This study found that heavy interlinings (250 g/sq.m) require higher fusing temperatures than the lighter interlining (225 g/sq.m). After washing, the bond strength of samples fused at high temperatures reduced in some instances. Maintaining a high temperature without considering interlining weight can lower the bond strength after washing the fused composites. Originality/value A combination of screening and full factorial DOE is used to analyze and predict bond strength of composites comprising medium-weight shirting fabrics and heavier weight interlinings used in shirts.

Our aim is to describe the morphology, physical and nutritional status of Vietnamese medical students in the late years of second decade of the 21th Centery. A research about physical form included 861 freshmen (335 male, 526 female) from Hanoi Medical University (2019 - 2020): Male students’ physical form measurement and figures are much better than female students’ and these indices is largely better than the previous studies of other authors. Physical form seems to increase by the time, after 45 years: male was 9.5 cm higher and 15.9 kg heavier, female was 7.0 cm higher and 5.8 kg heavier. In comparison with students in 2007, male students were8.5 kgs heavier and female students were 3.9 kgs heavier. In comparison with a research ten years ago, the height of male and female increased 4.2 cm and 3.3 cm, respectively. According to an Asian - Pacific population classification, students from Hanoi Medical University had medium weight.

Abstract. The article presents a three-year traceability (2018, 2019, 2020) of biometric results of the fruits of eight peach and nectarine varieties. The study covers the fifth, sixth and seventh vegetation period from the period of full fruiting. Varieties included in this investigation were “Filina” (peach, clingstone), “Gergana” (nectarine, clingstone), “July Lady” (peach, semi-clingstone), “Ufo 4” (flat peach, semi-clingstone), “Laskava” (peach, freestone), “Morsiani 90” (nectarine, freestone), “Flat Queen” (flat peach, freestone), and “Evmolpiya” (peach, freestone). The experimental collection plantation was created in the spring of 2014 on the territory of the Fruit Growing Research Institute, Plovdiv, (lat. 42.10384828045957 and long. 24.72164848814686). The data analysis shows that the varieties “Laskava” and “Evmolpiya” produce fruits with the highest weight – 319.60 g and 303.60 g, respectively. Medium weight is registered in the “Morsiani 90” variety (226.07 g) and the “July Lady” variety (193.87 g). “UFO 4” is characterized with the smallest fruits – an average of 143.83 g and the highest flesh yield. Considering the fact that the “Filina” variety is very early ripening, its fruits can be treated as large for the season – 170.21 g. The stones of the “July Lady”, “Morsiani 90” and “Evmolpiya” varieties have the largest average mass
