Introduction: Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which began in late 2019 in Wuhan, China, has become a global epidemic. Angiotensin 2 converting enzyme (ACE2) acts as a receptor for host function to cause acute coronavirus 2 acute respiratory syndrome (SARS-CoV-2). ACE2 is abundantly expressed in different cells of different human organs. In human physiology, ACE2 is a major player in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone (RAAS) system by degrading angiotensin II. Many factors have been associated with altered ACE2 expression and the severity and progression of COVID-19, including microRNAs that may be effective in it. Identifying pathological changes due to SARS-CoV-2 infection is important because it has major implications for understanding the pathophysiology of COVID-19 and developing evidence-based treatment strategies. Currently, many intervention strategies are being explored in ongoing clinical trials. Objective: The aim of this study is to use bioinformatics databases to find potential antiviral therapies against SARS-CoV-2 through host microRNAs (miRNAs) that can reduce viral gene expression to inhibit virus entry and replication. Methods: Using different algorithms in TargetScan, DIANA, ENCORI and miRWalk databases, the potential microRNAs were identified that target ACE2. Then, a score table was prepared from the candidate microRNAs, based on the affinity of the seed region of microRNAs and the 3`-UTR region of the ACE2 gene. Finally, microRNAs with higher scores were chosen as candidates for practical analysis. Results: The results of Bioinformatical analysis showed that Has-miR-200c-3p, Has-miR-29a, Has-miR-29c, and Has-miR-942 are most likely to inhibit ACE2. These microRNAs are the most potent factors that might be affected on ACE2 during virulence. Conclusion: It seems that ACE2 is under the control of the miR-200c-3p and plays a crucial role in the pathophysiology process. Therefore, this microRNA can be considered as a suitable new candidate for experimental evaluation.

Background & Objective: Stroke-associated pneumonia (SAP) is a common complication of ischemic stroke, increasing the length of hospital stay and costs, and affecting prognosis. This study aimed to determine the incidence of SAP, investigate the risk factors that lead to SAP to facilitate a more targeted response to the prevention of SAP. Methods: A retrospective study was performed to analyze the factors that predict SAP in an acute stroke population from a university affiliated hospital in Fujian, China. A SAP risk score table was constructed. Results: A total of 1,016 patients with acute cerebral infarction were enrolled. The incidence of SAP was 13.58%. Multivariate regression analysis found that age, NIHSS, GCS scores, dysphagia, heart failure, creatinine, and proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) use were independently associated with SAP. Based on the data, a SAP risk score table was constructed with age > 75 years -2 points, NIHSS ≥ 16 -2 points, GCS score ≤ 8 -1.5 points, dysphagia - 5 points, heart failure - 1.5 points, creatinine - 1 point, PPIs use - 1.5 points, a total of 14.5 points. The optimal value was 3 points. Conclusions: Age, NIHSS, GCS score, dysphagia, heart failure, creatinine, and PPIs use were predictive of SAP.

The WRF-ARW has been the flagship mesoscale model in the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC) since 2012. Several operational runs are performed daily (initialised at 00 and 12 UTC), using both the GFS and the IFS model for initial and boundary conditions, to account for uncertainties in the synoptic evolution. To provide more accurate forecasts to end-users, a convection-allowing simulation with a grid spacing of 1,5 km was added to the operational chain, starting in the summer of 2019.

However, the verification results show that the improvement over its mother domain (a 3 km simulation with parameterised convection) is irregular because it does not happen for all the variables. For instance, the 2 m temperature forecasts are more reliable for the highest resolution domain but the wind speed at 10 m has a comparable skill. Regarding the precipitation, there is a very slight improvement only for high daily precipitation rates (50 or 80 mm) during some seasons; nevertheless, the results are worse in forecasting the occurrence of precipitation (that is, when considering low daily precipitation quantities). The comparison of the verification results among different model configurations (with various resolutions and initial conditions) can be easily performed by using a skill score table. This table and its design will also be presented in this session.

Certainly, these results help to conceive strategies to enhance the skill of the 1,5 km simulations for some of the variables that arise as more inaccurate. For instance, it is evaluated to what extent using alternative static fields (changing the model topography or the land category) improves the forecasts of temperature, humidity or wind near the surface. Furthermore, the sensitivity of precipitation forecasts to several physics schemes is tested, seeking an enhancement of their skill.

Abstract Background: Lipodystrophy syndromes are a group of disorders characterized by a loss of adipose tissue once other situations of nutritional deprivation or exacerbated catabolism have been ruled out. With the exception of the HIV-associated lipodystrophy, they have a very low prevalence, which together with their large phenotypic heterogeneity makes their identification difficult, even for endocrinologists and pediatricians. This leads to significant delays in diagnosis or even to misdiagnosis. Our group has developed an algorithm that identifies the more than 40 rare lipodystrophy subtypes described to date. This algorithm has been implemented in a free mobile application, LipoDDx®. Our aim was to establish the effectiveness of LipoDDx®.40 clinical records of patients with a diagnosis of certainty of most lipodystrophy subtypes were analyzed, including subjects without lipodystrophy. The medical records, blinded for diagnosis, were evaluated by 13 physicians, 1 biochemist and 1 dentist. Each evaluator first gave his/her results based on his/her own criteria. Then, a second diagnosis was given using LipoDDx®. The results were analysed based on a score table according to the complexity of each case and the prevalence of the disease. Results: LipoDDx® provides a user-friendly environment, based on usually dichotomous questions or choice of clinical signs from drop-down menus. The final result provided by this app for a particular case can be a low/high probability of suffering a particular lipodystrophy subtype. Without using LipoDDx® the success rate was 17 ± 20%, while with LipoDDx® the success rate was 79 ± 20% (p <0.01).Conclusions: LipoDDx® is a free app that enables the identification of subtypes of rare lipodystrophies, which in this small cohort has around 80% effectiveness, which will be of help to doctors who are not experts in this field. However, it will be necessary to analyze more cases in order to obtain a more accurate efficiency value.
