What is temperament? And what is its relation, if any, to intelligence and school progress? These questions open up a very wide problem - a problem which has been attacked by surprisingly few psychologists. Some make no reference to it at all, others speak vaguely about it, while a few have made some serious attempt to clarify the position. For this reason, before embarking upon a practical investigation of the problem, it was deemed advisable to make a fairly extensive survey of the literature available. The present work is thus in two parts: Part 1. containing the attempt to set out the present psychological position of temperament, and Part 2 dealing with the investigation proper.

Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Innovation are essential tools in the transition towards a more fair, healthy, and sustainable society. This chapter gives an overview of the two decades of research on the topic and discusses the current state of its application. It shows that the current literature lacks a more profound theoretical and practical investigation. Nevertheless, these gaps may be covered soon, as the number of publications in this area is growing. Additionally, the chapter explores the importance of a radical approach, open innovation strategies, and collaboration to foster sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation and tackle the Grand Challenges of modern society.

Abstract With the increasingly serious aging of our society, labor shortage will seriously hinder the development of social economy. Robots gradually integrate into human production and life, and gradually serve more and more people. In order to solve the problem of large path deviation of the transmission system in the food conveying path, an intelligent food conveying system based on machine vision is proposed. The hardware circuit of the whole system is composed of image acquisition module, power module, electric drive module, etc. in the software part, the vertical volume matching method is used to set the optimal path. Through practical investigation, the scheme is feasible, can rely on the actual intelligence of catering distribution, has good application and promotion value.

This paper describes an experimental model for estimating parabolic trough solar collector performance, as the Arduino micro-controller technology was applied to improve the optical and thermal efficiency of the system. The receiving tubes of different internal diameters (2mm, 6mm) were implemented to evaluate system performance. The practical investigation of the solar concentrator was conducted to generate steam at moderate temperatures, as the experiments were executed in Baghdad with geographical coordinates (33° 18' N, 44° 21' E) during specific days. The results showed the effectiveness of small diameters, as the significant enhancement of thermal performance was at a flow rate of 8 L/h and receiver tube diameters of 2 mm, as the improvement was 30% compared to 6 mm tubes.

Abstract The variability aspects of Entamoeba gingivalis concerning periodontal diseases are poorly studied. The reason is that many researchers rejected the notion that it can cause periodontal disease. The current study aimed to compare the morphological and genetic variability within trophozoites isolated from diseased and healthy periodontal sites. The practical investigation included a detailed microscopic analysis and gene scanning of the 18S-SSU rRNA by real-time PCR. All trophozoites isolated from diseased sites were significantly larger than those from healthy sites. Besides, they were clustered together with many other leuko-phagocytes. Gene scanning revealed diversity within the isolates of mutant trophozoites isolated from diseased sites. Four melting curves matched the H57 strain, while the remaining eight expressed the wild strain. Most of the isolates from healthy sites were wild-type, while only two isolates represented the H57 strain. However, the study confirmed morphological and genetic variability between different isolates, more in-depth molecular studies are required to investigate the role of this oral protozoan in the pathogenicity of periodontal affection. The study highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary diagnostic strategies by employing exported clinical investigators to reach truthful scientific outcomes concerning the association of certain microorganisms to particular diseases or disorders.

Three main questions pertaining to household heating were and answered through rigorous empirical testing; • Is it more efficient to keep a house at constant temperature throughout the day, or should the temperature be allowed to dip when unoccupied? • Is it possible to build a scale-model house with proper thermal ballasting to simulate and verify the first question? • Can the empirical results be used to verify whether or not steady state models of heat transfer (for simplicity’s sake) can provide reasonably accurate results? It was observed that keeping a house at constant temperature is inefficient and causes over cycling of electro-mechanical equipment. Continuing on, it is possible to build a scale-model house to mimic reality, however, care is needed in the design process if you wish to have similar volumetric time constants. And finally, steady-state models can be implemented to predict energy input, but with a certain degree of error.
