The German Carl Diem is considered one of the most outstanding sports personalities and Olympic promoters of modern times and was not only relevant to sports development in and for Germany but also abroad. His work unfolded especially in the first half of the 20th century but led to highly contradictory assessments of his person and his work due to the circumstances of the time and political developments in Germany and Europe. It becomes apparent that in contrast to Germany, where Diem is now almost forgotten despite an almost incalculable oeuvre and is only known to sports historians, in Bulgaria, where he created the essential basis for the establishment and structure of the “State Higher School for Physical Education”, later “National Sports Academy ‘Vasil Levski’”, and thus the academic training of sports teachers with his “Organizational Plan for Physical Education in Bulgaria”, there was initially no mention of him after 1944 and only from the 1990s of the last century at least some few mentions. This article uses an overview of the academic literature to shed light on Diem’s changed reception in Germany as well as the deficient research situation on him in Bulgaria.

Conflict is an inevitable social phenomenon and the analysis of it can effectively resolve disputes, improve the position of decision makers (DMs), forecast compromise solutions as well. At present, the Graph Model for Conflict Resolution (GMCR), a completely non-quantitative decision support system (DSS) based on DM’s ordinal preference information, is constructed to combat conflict analysis complicated by multiple participant or multiple criteria or both. The purpose of the study is to introduce an overview of GMCR in conflict analyzing through bibliometrics. In order to achieve this goal, a systematic review of articles in leading journals of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) during 1987–2019 is posed, referring to the distribution of countries, institutions, authors, subjects and journals, research topics and hotspots exploration as well as frontiers prediction, by utilizing VOSviewer and CiteSpace. The contributions of this study are not only providing a handy method to grasp generalized scientific research situation, but also demonstrating status quo and emerging trends of GMCR for researchers and everyone who interested in.

This chapter covers how to measure target behaviors and use common software to record and edit client data. Readers are then shown how to import data into R and use the SSD for R functions to analyze their data. The first part of this chapter focuses on the type of data that is most appropriate to record and some common issues related to collecting these. Four different types of measurement are covered, each of which has its own strengths and weaknesses. These include direct behavioral observations, standardized scales, individual rating scales, and logs. When selecting one or more methods of measuring a target behavior, readers will want to consider the specific needs of their clients, the identified problem, and the practice or research situation. The second part of this chapter demonstrates how to use Excel or other spreadsheet programs to quickly and effectively record this data.

Abstract Energy storage is one of the main problems bothering the power system. The present research situation of energy storage is outlined. The working principles, development process and technical features of pumped storage, compressed air energy storage, flywheel energy storage, electromagnetic energy storage and chemical energy storage are described in detail. The application prospect of energy storage is proposed.

Nowadays, with the globalization of world economy, knowing how to use advertising English in opening up overseas markets is of very practical significance. The purpose of advertising is to promote business sales and services, which creates added value in customer’s mind and lead to consumption, usually paid for by related sponsors through various media. Taking Coca-Cola for example, during its growth over a century, it has been supporting the advertising campaign in one stage after another, and in one country after another. Therein, 可口可乐, the Chinese translation soon became a household name in China, and it also played an important role in helping Coca-Cola tap into Chinese market. Admittedly, the competitive quality of product itself is important, but advertising is of much more importance to promote itself to be recognized worldwide. In translation, its techniques should be taken into account, which will help us to better use advertising English. It is true that good translation in advertising brings business great fortune, whereas bad one may result in severe losses and poor reputation, so we can see advertising translation is bound up with enterprise’s prosperity and decline. Therefore, the use of advertising English and its translation techniques should be valued. In this paper, the writer is doing study on the use of advertising English and its translation techniques, whereby current research situation of that in China and abroad, factual methodologies and related materials have all contributed to its completion. The writer believes that both one’s ability of ingenious thinking and the growth of economic globalization are benefiting from a better use of advertising English and its translation techniques.

Multiscale brings great benefits for people to observe objects or problems from different perspectives. Multiscale clustering has been widely studied in various disciplines. However, most of the research studies are only for the numerical dataset, which is a lack of research on the clustering of nominal dataset, especially the data are nonindependent and identically distributed (Non-IID). Aiming at the current research situation, this paper proposes a multiscale clustering framework based on Non-IID nominal data. Firstly, the benchmark-scale dataset is clustered based on coupled metric similarity measure. Secondly, it is proposed to transform the clustering results from benchmark scale to target scale that the two algorithms are named upscaling based on single chain and downscaling based on Lanczos kernel, respectively. Finally, experiments are performed using five public datasets and one real dataset of the Hebei province of China. The results showed that the method can provide us not only competitive performance but also reduce computational cost.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current situation with e-commerce in China’s textile industry and new business models during the COVID-19 epidemic. The author studied the vital problems of the Chinese textile industry from the point of view of electronic commerce. In order to solve research problems, the method of qualitative content analysis was used to classify and summarize the research situation. Data sources include the latest academic papers, industry analytical reports of securities research institutions, reports of consulting companies (Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, etc.), as well as government and organization documents (ITMF, United Nations, etc.). Based on the research process, it can be concluded that during the COVID-19 period up to the middle of 2021, China’s textile industry experienced four stages, having switched from traditional e-commerce to interested e-commerce. Innovation and digital transformation seem to be necessary conditions for China’s textile industry to overcome the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the author puts forward a long-term development trends of the textile industry after the COVID-19 epidemic.

Shape memory alloys (SMAs) are ones which can return to their original shape under impact of temperature or external magnetic field. The SMAs are capable of many applications in the fields of biomedical, aerospace, microelectronics, automation, for examples, orthodontics, stents, bone anchors, automatic valves, heat sensors, nanotweezers, robots... Recently, researchers have discovered the shape memory effect (SME) on high entropy alloys (HEAs). The combination of superior properties of SMAs and HEAs (high strength, heat resistance, low diffusion coefficient...) would bring useful practical applications in practice. In this paper, we will present an overview of the research situation of SMAs and our initial results obtained on Ni-Ti based alloys of Ni-Ti, Ni-Ti-Zr-Cu-Cr, Ni-Ti-Zr-Cu-Co, Ni-Ti-Zr-Cu-Nb, and Ni-Ti-Zr-Cu-Hf prepared by melt-spinning method.

Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV), by primary infection or reactivation, represents a great risk for immune-suppressed or compromised patients. In immunocompetent humans, the immune system suppresses the spread of HCMV during an infection, resulting in a mostly asymptomatic or mild course of the disease, whereas in immune suppressed patients, the compromised host immune response cannot control the viral infection. Multiple viral immunomodulatory mechanisms additionally contribute to immune evasion. Use of chimeric antigen receptors (CARs), a treatment strategy adapted from cancer immunotherapy, is investigated for possible application to combat HCMV and other infections in immunocompromised patients. The administration of CAR+ T-cells directed against HCMV antigens can bypass viral immune evasion and may complement existing treatment methods. This review gives a short overview of HCMV, the obstacles of current treatment options as well as a brief introduction to CARs and the current research situation on CAR+ T-cells against HCMV.
