Camera Obscura or the Way Things Appear: Some Remarks About Marx’s Economic Writings

I analyse the foundations of Marx’s analysis to examine the applicability of Marx’s theory of the capitalist economy to the study of current economic events. In this paper, I do not present critique the interpretations of Marx’s works made by contemporary economists; however, much of modern Marxian economics is invalid in terms of Marx’s own method and inappropriate for understanding modern capitalism. The paper is concerned with topics that have been the subject of contemporary debate and are central to Marx’s own economic writings. Here I present only textual evidence of the main tendencies in the development of capitalism discovered by Marx. There are limits to value (= time) as the sole criterion of economic expediency; the constant reproduction of a scarcity of jobs amid an abundance of goods; enlargement of material commercial relations on the other spheres of social life; development of monetary relations – the emergence of derivatives of money, i. e., ersatz money, digital money. The main conclusion that I came to is that some societies are gradually losing value and moral guidelines, threatening the very development and even the existence of other communities or peoples.

The attitude of students of European universities to euthanasia from the point of view of religious ethics

Если человечество вступит на путь легализации медицинских убийств и оправдания из чувства милосердия, велика вероятность перехода к чувству целесообразности, и масштабы такой деятельности тяжело предсказать. В этой связи необходимо вспомнить принцип «наклонной плоскости» который, описал Архиепископ Сан-Францисский Иоанн. Если наложить суть данного принципа «наклонной плоскости» на проблему эвтаназии то мы получим следующее: если сегодня узаконить искусственное лишение жизни безнадежных больных, за час до их предполагаемой смерти, то завтра такое человеколюбие пришло бы к выводу о необходимости искусственно прерывать жизнь больных за 3 дня до их возможной смерти, далее — за один месяц, за полгода, год. Идея классовой политики, расовой чистоты, экономической целесообразности, и подобные идеи, будут требовать себе новые человеческие жертвы. Основные религии мира имеют не однозначные взгляды на эвтаназию, сравнительный анализ начнем с позиции православной церкви. Биологическую смерть Православная церковь рассматривает не как отмирание жизненно важных органов, а как таинство, великое благословение, которое наполнено скрытым духовным смыслом. Эвтаназия в Европе больше не является запретной темой, и доказательством этого является тот факт, что она была легализована в Нидерландах, Бельгии, Люксембурге, Албании. Некоторые формы эвтаназии также используются в Швейцарии, где можно приписать гипнотический препарат, но пациент должен принимать это близко к сердцу. If humanity takes the path of legalizing medical murders and justifying them out of a sense of mercy, there is a high probability of a transition to a sense of expediency, and the scale of such activities is difficult to predict. In this regard, it is necessary to recall the principle of the "inclined plane", which was described by Archbishop John of San Francisco. If we impose the essence of this principle of the "inclined plane" on the problem of euthanasia, we will get the following: if today we legalize the artificial deprivation of life of hopeless patients, an hour before their expected death, then tomorrow such philanthropy would come to the conclusion that it is necessary to artificially interrupt the life of patients 3 days before their possible death, then one month, six months, a year. The idea of class politics, racial purity, economic expediency, and similar ideas will demand new human sacrifices. The main religions of the world have ambiguous views on euthanasia, a comparative analysis will begin with the position of the Orthodox Church. The Orthodox Church considers biological death not as the death of vital organs, but as a sacrament, a great blessing that is filled with hidden spiritual meaning. Euthanasia in Europe is no longer a taboo topic, and the proof of this is the fact that it has been legalized in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Albania. Some forms of euthanasia are also used in Switzerland, where a hypnotic drug can be attributed, but the patient must take it to heart.

Study of Cleaning and Storage of Fine-fiber Cotton From Trash Impurities

The article under discussion investigates the questions of rational and economic expediency in cleaning and storage of highly clogged and wet raw cotton of manual and machine picking. The purpose of the article is to consider proposals for design changes in new machines proposed by the authors, aimed at increasing their productivity and improving the quality of cotton fiber during cotton ginning. The authors of the article determined the reasons of raw cotton self-heating in bunches and covered storages, besides the process of raw cotton overheating with the help of centrifugal fan during transportation by suction pipeline has been studied as well.

Enterprising Art, Aestheticizing Business

Chapter 6 explores the political economy of art in urban spaces marked by waves of dispossession and social segmentation. Formerly inhabited by minorities, the physical “voids” of Istanbul and Berlin have become nexuses for the enterprising art and aestheticizing business in contexts of urban and national governance that identify art primarily as an economic expediency and tool for urban renewal. Gentrification is just one—but perhaps the most visible—component of this dynamic in which artists are both complicit and resistant. The chapter anchors this discussion in the biennials that both cities host. It shows how these events as proclaimed realms of artistic experimentation have been increasingly streamlined to accommodate normative frames of for-profit enterprise that in turn likens it workings to that of creative labor. I argue that the spectacularization of art in urban space through the format of large-scale arts event has been vital in disavowing the violence of the 1980 coup d’état in Turkey and the specter of Nazism that haunted the lead-up to and aftermath of Germany’s reunification. Finally, the chapter takes a look at the counterstrategies that artists develop to (re)claim urban spaces for artistic interventions as well as for engagements with their difficult pasts.

Importance and features of the deposit policy of my commercial banks

The deposit policy of a commercial bank must meet the following requirements; economic expediency; competitiveness; lack of internal contradictions. When looking at the essence of the deposit banking policy, it is necessary to touch upon such issues as the objects and subjects of the deposit policy, the real principles of its formation, the boundaries of the deposit policy. In practice, the deposit policy of any commercial bank includes the following elements: customers, government and commercial entities. The savings policy is aimed at lending temporary free funds to creditors, as well as the ability of commercial banks to make efficient use of available resources for active operations. As part of these measures, any bank must take into account the specifics of all types of deposits used. The main feature of the deposit policy here is that the initiative in transactions does not belong to the bank, but to the customer, and therefore it is impossible to manage the operations entirely by the bank.

NOVELIZATION TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF INSURANCE COMPANIES IN UKRAINE

Introduction. Transformational changes in the economic system in Ukraine lead to adaptation in the digital dimension and to new vectors of development in the insurance market. The key driver of change has been digitalization. The purpose of the article is to identify innovation trends in the development of insurance companies in Ukraine and justify the introduction of digitalization on the example of an insurance company. Methods. In the process of research the methods of dialectical analysis, synthesis, formalization, graphic, as well as logical generalization were used. Results. Digital insurance is characterized as a new direction in insurance. The advantages and disadvantages of digitalization in the work of insurers are highlighted. The plan of digitalization introduction on the example of the insurance company is offered and its economic expediency is substantiated. The implementation of the proposed plan will enable the insurance company to strengthen its competitive position. Perspectives. The subject of further research is to study the impact of modern trends in the development of insurance companies as qualitatively new vectors of their development.

Environmental and economic assessment of the possibilities to increase the land preservation level in terms of open-pit mining

Conditions of the planning of open-pit mining objects have been identified, making it possible to reduce the need in the allotted land area during mineral extraction. The research results have allowed proposing a methodological approach to determine economic expediency of the increase in the technogenic land reclamation level under conditions of open-pit mining, being the reserves to expand the technogenic land areas returned to the economic use.

Acute Issues of Strateging and Functioning of Information Space on Territory in Conditions of Restrictive Measures

The article studies such issues as strateging of sustainable development of regions, developing the system of information support of strategic development of the region, risks connected with sanctions imposed by Western countries. These subjects were analyzed with the help of literature sources and further lines of research were proposed. The system of information support of strategic development of regions includes strategic goals and figures of development, which require correction in conditions of growing pressure on behalf of Western countries, as well as political and economic restriction of external environment. The authors came to the conclusion about the necessity to correct the system of indicators of the region strategic development by social and economic expediency, managerial supervision and possibility of monitoring. During designing, realizing and monitoring of strategy of region development it is necessary to take into account the impact not only of conventional restrictions coming from the external environment but also specific restrictions in conditions of sanctions imposed by Western countries. Such restrictions during the last decade turned into a trend, which affects life of territories with uncertain status, unrecognized and questionable territories and tend to be used as tools of political pressure or economic wars.
