Purpose: This study investigates the bidirectional relationship between body weight and depression for both males and females in the U.S. Methods: Data are drawn from the 2019 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), and a simultaneous ordered probability system is estimated with maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) to accommodate the two-way causality between depression and body weight categories. The variable of depression is measured by individuals’ past depressive records and current mental health status. Results: Depression and body weight are found to affect each other positively for both males and females on average. In a randomized population, the results of average treatment effects suggest significant body weight differences between depressed and non-depressed individuals. Age and other sociodemographic factors affect body weight differently between genders and between the people with depression and those without. Conclusion: The positive bidirectional relationship between body weight and depression is found. The effect of depression on body weight is significant among both males and females in a randomized population, and females who experience depression are most likely to be obese and less likely to have normal weight compared to females without depression. The risks of overweight and obesity are high among people who are less educated or unable, who have poor health statuses, and who had high blood pressure.

Ship oil spill accident will lead to enormous hazards in the Three Gorges Reservoir area. The risk mitigation of the ship oil spill is significant to the stakeholder of the maritime safety administration. To study the risk evolution of the ship oil spill in the Three Gorges Reservoir area, the framework of ship oil spill risk evolution was proposed according to the general definition of the risk; then, risk evolutions were analyzed from the perspectives of expected probability, system constraints of accident developing, and possible harmful consequences based on accidents analyses, simulation experiments, and structural equation model analysis. The results indicate that the system constraints of accident developing, such as the quantity of oil spills, free evolution time, and wind and flow conditions, have significant impacts on risk evolution of the ship oil spill after the occurrence of an accident in the Three Gorges Reservoir area.

For some time past the careful attention of researches requires the issues of analyzing qualities of test objects and compliance actually received tactical and technical characteristics with specified operational requirements, it is necessary to get the parameters of high-precision trajectory measurements that will enable comparison (deviation) of the real trajectory from the reference trajectory (pattern trajectory); evaluate the operating benefit of the test objects; identify the causes of nonconformities of tactical and technical characteristics to requirements, which can be detected. Today for measuring the trajectory parameters of the test objects using equipment, which operates on different physical principles. It refers also to the electro-optics equipment, in which implemented process of target tracking for the purpose of obtaining on a real time basis initial information, further processing which will allow to calculate highly precise trajectory parameters of test objects. Therefore, the purpose of the article was a justification for composition and tactical and technical characteristics of prospective mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements. On the basis of the modern analysis of the objects of ground tests, their main characteristics, as well as the tactical and technical characteristics of modern mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements of domestic and foreign production and taking into account the “General requirements for mobile optoelectronic station of externally - trajectory measurements” from 01 October 2017, the project of composition and the tactical and technical characteristics prospective mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements was justified. Research design - the theory of probability, system analysis and synthesis of organizational-technical systems, theory efficiency and optimization, simulation of complex technical systems. The main results, obtained in the work: - composition and the tactical and technical characteristics prospective mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements were justified; - general requirements to the mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements were developed; The practical importance lies in the possibility of creating mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements of domestic production to conduct testing of new and modernized specimens of weapons and military equipment. The study is novel in that it: general requirements to the mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements were developed; the project of terms of reference for the creation of a mobile optoelectronic complex of trajectory measurements of domestic production was worked out to provide testing of specimens of weapons and military equipment.

Cooperative communication has been recently proposed in wireless communication systems for exploring the inherent spatial diversity in relay channels. In this work, we investigate the system performance of the energy harvesting full-duplex (FD) decode-and-forward (DF) hybrid time switching-power splitting relaying TSR-PSR (TPSR) protocol relaying network. In the selection scheme, the best user selection protocol is proposed and investigated. Mainly we derive the closed-form expression for the outage probability, system throughput and the symbol error rate (SER) of the system. Numerical results are also presented by the Monte Carlo simulation to validate the theoretical analysis in connection with the all possible parameters in the comparison between TSPR, TSR and PSR cases. The research results show that TPSR case is better than the others in term of outage probability and SER.

In this paper, a quantum inspired MADM method is proposed. Inspired by quantum theory, the decision process is considered as a quantum probability system. Before the decision is made, the preference state is considered as the superposition from the sub-states with respect to various attributes. Each sub-state is regarded as the entanglement from the alternatives. Once the final decision is made, the preference state collapses into a definite state corresponding to an alternative. Based on the proposed method, the decision steps are provided. Ultimately, the feasibility is illustrated through an application in E-commerce recommendation.

The range of correlation coefficient of any bivariate discrete random vector with finite or countably infinite values is derived. We show analytically that the normal-transformed discrete bivariate probability system of Van Ophem (1999, Econometric Theory 15, 228–237) has a flexible correlation coefficient. We establish the strictly monotonic relation of its correlation coefficient with the bivariate normal correlation-coefficient parameter in the system.
