The development of information communication technology (ICT) has changed the way of life in twenty-first-century society. It also affects the lives of students who are currently known as generation Z, including their learning culture. This study aimed to find out and describe how generation Z students utilize ICT in their learning culture. One hundred and twenty-two students in the first and third year at Yogyakarta State University participated in an online survey using Google Forms. The data were collected using a five point-Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed with quantitative descriptive methods. The results showed that most generation Z students were familiar with using ICT to support their learning activities, such as using social media, online communication platforms, web browsers, and instructional videos. The average total score obtained from the questionnaire was 3.15, which was in the fair category. But, even though the students had access to adequate ICT tools, they stated that they still need face-to-face learning activities. More than 85% of students revealed that they were well-equipped with the proper electronic devices that support learning activities and had adequate abilities to utilize them. The current covid-19 pandemic has an impact on Capita Selecta Chemistry lectures. The difficulty of face-to-face learning in class makes lecturers have to be able to find solutions to these problems. One of the solutions used is the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by the WhatsApp Group (WAG) application and face-to-face through the zoom meeting application. This research is a research pre-experimental research with one-group pretest posttest design, experiments conducted in one class without a comparison class. The research was conducted at a State University in Bengkulu. With the research subjects as many as 24 students who took capita selecta Chemistry course. The instruments used in this study are learning outcomes tests and response questionnaires towards applications that used in learning. Data analysis techniques include average value, normality test, and hypothesis testing using the t-test using SPPS computer program for windows version 23. The results showed that there was an increase in student learning outcomes with the implementation of  PjBL model assisted by WhatsApp and Zoom applications with  pretest scores of 66.042, postest scores of 84.625 and the N-gain value data obtained was 0.547 in the moderate category. Student’s response toward the use of  WAG and Zoom Meeting applications was very positive. As many as 91.67% of students considered that WAG application was a very practical application and it was easily accessible to students, especially access to learning materials. Abstract As the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, Indonesia’s education experienced numerous changes. The previously face-to-face learning activities have been replaced by the online learning that relies on Internet access. Meanwhile, during a learning process, teachers use media to facilitate students learning. Therefore, the implementation of online learning rises the need for learning media in online learning. Mobile learning is invented as a learning media that can be implemented in this situation. It is developed using a number of programing applications, such as Sublime Text, to generate user friendly media. This study developed a Sublime Text based mobile learning application that can be accessed through android smartphones. This media has been confirmed to help teachers deliver learning materials, learning videos, and exercises accessible at anytime and anywhere. This Sublime Text based mobile learning application is called Study Fill. The learning media has been tried out to the students in tenth grade of State Vocational High School 2 Kediri, while the result suggest that the learning media is feasible and valid.

This chapter is intended for tutors, professors, and students, and seeks to contribute to the development of online communication activities as a means of providing curriculum flexibility in engineering courses. It describes the use of online learning resources, called Learning Objects (LO), and their development at the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana (PUCPR) by a multidisciplinary staff. The design of the LOs takes into account the difficulties students encounter during face-to-face activities as reported in previous studies carried out by the authors during their teaching careers. LOs allow Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to be used as an aid to face-to-face learning, with reorganized learning and teaching strategies. LOs are available in the university’s own virtual environment, Eureka, and can be accessed by approximately 14,000 students and more than 1,200 teaching staff at the institution. Student feedback was also collected and is described here.

AbstractDuring the pandemic, the government issued the policy to learning from home, followed by the other policy to open face-to-face learning in the New Normal era. This study aims to determine the implementation of learning from home policy and the readiness of madrasas to conduct face-to-face learning in the New Normal era. This research was conducted using an online survey method in 2021. The results showed that 85% of madrasas carried out the learning process online, of which 86.8% were carried out through the assignment method from the teacher. In the learning process at home, only 28.7% of students were accompanied, reminded, supervised, and assisted by their parents. It means that the role of parents in learning from home is minimal. However, 86.5% provide internet access. Regarding the readiness of madrasas in face-to-face learning, 62.24% were not ready to carry out face-to-face learning. This unreadiness relates to the difficulties in fulfillment of aspects that are required for face-to-face learning.
