Application of Guided Inquiry Learning Model to Improve Student Competency in Biology Learning at SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar. The classroom action research was motivated by the low competence of students in aspects of attitudes, knowledge and skills. The purpose of this study was to determine improving student competence of grouping plant in class X IPA 2 SMAN 2 XIII Koto Kampar through the application of guided inquiry learning model. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This study begins with a pre cycle before the cycle I. Subjects were 26 students of SMAN 2 X IPA 2 class XIII Koto Kampar. Data obtained using the competency attitude instrument observation sheet of religious and social attitudes, including: faithful, honest, discipline, cooperation, tolerance and mutual cooperation. A knowledge data was collected with quiz and test questions at the end of the cycle.  The skills data was collected with observation sheets of practices and product. The results showed an increase in the competence of the students after the applied application of guided inquiry learning model. An increase in the average value of attitude competence of the first cycle of 3.15 and the second cycle of 3.49. The competence of knowledge showed an increase from the first cycle of students who pass as many as 22 people (84.62%) in the second cycle students who pass as many as 24 people (92.31%), while competence of skills to practice skills in the first cycle of 3.16, and the second cycle of 3.30. And then, product skills in the first cycle of 3.04 increased in the second cycle of 3.30.Keywords: Grouping Plants, Guided Inquiry, Student Competence

This study aims to see the effect of the pictorial riddle-based guided inquiry learning model in improving students' creative thinking. This study uses a pre-experimental design research method in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. This study used purposive sampling where the sample was selected on the consideration of the researcher, the sample used was 28 fourth grade students at SDN Gudang. The instrument of this research is the observation of the syntax of the guided inquiry learning model based on pictorial riddles, the observation of creative thinking, and the essay test. The results of this study stated that the average value of the pretest was 21.75 and the average value of the posttest was 31.11. The significance value at the pretest is 0.107 and the significance value at the posttest is 0.200, which means that each significance value is more than 0.05. Hypothesis testing with t-test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.005, which means that there is a significant difference. So it can be stated that the pictorial riddle-based guided inquiry learning model has a significant positive effect on students' creative thinking.

The guided inquiry learning model is an approach that involves students actively thinking and finding what they want to know. This research have as a purpose to knowladge cognitive learning outcomes of students taught by guided inquiry learning models assisted by electronic workbench software. The population in this research were students of class XII MIA SMAN 1 Lasolo registered in the odd semester of the 2019/2020 academic year consisting of 3 classes with 104 students. Samples were taken by purposive sampling technique so that class XII MIA1 was obtained as an experiment class and class XII MIA2 as a control class. Data collection techniques for students' cognitive learning outcomes using multiple choice tests. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential statistics. Based on the results of data analysis and discussion obtained: (1) there is no significant difference between the average value of the experiment class pretest and the control class before learning; (2) there is a significant difference between the average value of cognitive class learning outcomes of the experiment class and the control class; (3) the average value of N-Gain learning outcomes of the cognitive domain of experiment class students is in the high category with the acquisition of a value of 0.73 while the average value of the N-Gain of the control class is in the moderate category of 0.49. This shows that the guided inquiry learning model assisted by electronics workbench software is very suitable to be applied in physics learning activities in schools.

ABSTRACT The research aimed to know the influence ofguided inquiry learning model on student’s learning outcomes in topic dynamic electricity in class X semester II SMA N 2 Kisaran A.Y 2014/2015. Beside that, the research also aimed to determine the differences between students learning outcomes by using guided inquiry learning model and conventional learning, and to know the student’s activities as affective and psychomotor. The research used a quasi-experimental method. The population were all students of class X consist of 8 classes. The samples defined by cluster random sampling and conducted in class X-1 as the experiment class and X-2 as the control class. The instruments were used learning outcomes test and the observation sheet. The result showed that the average value of posttest in experiment class is 64.25 higher than in control class is 53. The hypothesis result of posttest in experiment class and control class get >, so Ha can be accepted. The observation result showed student’s activity in experiment class included in active category. Finally, it can be concluded that there is an effect of guided inquiry learning model on student’s learning outcomes in topic dynamic electricity.   Keywords : guided inquiry learning model, student’s learning outcomes, affective, psychomotor
