Abstract: The Presenace study investigation oil isolation form cyperus rotundus and the chemical composition of essential oil of root's of Cyprus rotundus.In india it's commonly known as nagarmotha.and it belongs to the family cyperacea.the major chemical components of this herb are essential oils.flavonoids, terpenoids, sesauiterpenes, cyproten, cyperene, aselinene, rotundene, valencene, cyperol, gurjunene, transcalamenenene, cad'Alene, cyperoutundone, mustskone, isocyperol, acyperone etc. Reserch studies have shown that it possesses various Pharmacological activity Such as diuretic,carmenative emmenagogue, anthelmintic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-dysentery, anti-rheumatic activities.an extensive review of the ancient traditional literature and madern research revealead that the drug has numerous therapeutic action. Several of which have been established scientifically, which may help the reserchers to set their minds for approaching the utility efficiency and potency of nagarmotha. Abstract Recent data support the existence of a distinctive ‘vascular’ phenotype with the involvement of both pulmonary parenchyma and its circulation in COVID-19 pneumonia. Its prompt identification is important for the accurate management of COVID-19 patients. The aim is to analyse the pro and contra of the different modalities to identify the ‘vascular’ phenotype. Chest computed tomography scan and angiogram may quantify both parenchyma and vascular damage, but the presence of thrombosis of pulmonary micro-circulation may be missed. Increased d-dimer concentration confirms a thrombotic state, but it cannot localize the thrombus. An elevation of troponin concentration nonspecifically reflects cardiac injury. Echocardiogram and electrocardiogram provide specific signs of right ventricular pressure overload. This is particularly relevant for the ‘vascular’ phenotype which does not necessarily represent the result of thromboembolic venous complications but, more frequently, it is the result of pulmonary microcirculation thrombosis in situ and needs immediate therapeutic action.

Phytobiotics supply a set of biologically active substances into organism, including micro- and macroelements. In comparison with synthetic preparations, the phytobiotics and bioadditives based on herbal stuff are characterized by certain advantages: lower risk of allergic reactions, soft effect, wide therapeutic action, efficiency and safety for use upon management of springer cows.

This literature review presents data on neuroprotection in glaucoma. In neuroprotective therapy, it is desirable to use a comprehensive treatment that includes drugs of various pharmacological groups acting on different pathogenetic links of glaucoma optical neuropathy. One of the most promising areas of neuroprotection is the simultaneous combined effect of various physical factors (with mutual potency of their therapeutic action) and drug therapy, which increases the neuroprotective effect. However, treatment should be performed against the background of absolutely normalized intraocular pressure. Key words: glaucoma, glaucoma optical neuropathy, neuroprotection, drug therapy, normalized intraocular pressure.

: Ketogenic diet and ketone bodies gained significant attention in recent years due to their ability to influence the specific energy metabolism and restoration of mitochondrial homeostasis that can help in hindering the progression of many metabolic diseases including diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases. Ketogenic diet consists of high fat and low carbohydrate contents which makes the body glucose deprived and rely on alternative sources (ketone bodies) for energy. It has been initially designed and supplemented for the treatment of epilepsy and later its influence on many energy-deriving biochemical pathways made it a highly sorted food supplement for many metabolic diseases and even by healthy individuals for body building and calorie restriction. Among the reported therapeutic action over a range of diseases, neurodegenerative disorders especially Alzheimer’s disease gained the attention of many researchers and clinicians because of its potency and its easier supplementation as a food additive. Complex pathology and multiple influencing factors of Alzheimer’s disease make exploration of its therapeutic strategies a demanding task. It was a common phenomenon that energy deprivation in neurological disorders including Alzheimer’s disease, to progress rapidly. The ability of ketone bodies to stabilize the mitochondrial energy metabolism makes it a suitable intervening agent. In this review, we will discuss various research progress made with regards to ketone bodies/ketogenic diet for management of Alzheimer’s disease and elaborate in detail about the mechanisms that are influenced during their therapeutic action.

Objective: To synthesize, characterize and evaluate starch glycolate as a superdisintegrant in the formulation of Glipizide fast dissolving tablets by employing 23 factorial designs. Methods: Starch glycolate was prepared and its physical and micromeritic properties were performed to evaluate it. The fast dissolving tablet of Glipizide was prepared by employing starch crotonate as a superdisintegrant in different proportions in each case by direct compression method using 23 factorial design for the evaluation of tablet parameters like disintegration and dissolution efficiency in 5 min. Results: The starch glycolate prepared was found to be fine, free-flowing and amorphous. Starch glycolate exhibited good swelling in water with a swelling index (10%). The study of starch glycolate was shown by fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR). The drug content (100±5%), hardness (3.5–4 kg/sq. cm), and friability (<0.15%) was been effective with regard to all the formulated fast dissolving tablets employing starch glycolate. The disintegration time of all the formulated tablets was found to be in the range of 13±0.015 to 180±0.014 sec. The optimized formulation F8 had the least disintegration time i.e., 13±0.015 sec. The wetting time of the tablets was found to be in the range of 8±0.015 to 95±0.013 sec. The In vitro wetting time was less (i.e., 8±0.015s) in optimized formulation F8. The water absorption ratio of the formulated tablets was found to be in the range of 75±0.012 to 150±0.014%. The percent drug dissolved in the optimized formulation F8 was found to be 99.95% in 5 min. Conclusion: Starch glycolate was an efficient superdisintegrant for fast-dissolving tablets. The disintegration and dissolution efficiency of the fast dissolving tablets of glipizide was good and depended on the concentration of superdisintegrant employed i.e., starch glycolate, sodium starch glycolate, crospovidone. The formulated fast dissolving tablets of glipizide exhibited good dissolution efficiency in 5 min which can be used for the fast therapeutic action of glipizide.

Nitroaromatic compounds (ArNO2) maintain their importance in relation to industrial processes, environmental pollution, and pharmaceutical application. The manifestation of toxicity/therapeutic action of nitroaromatics may involve their single- or two-electron reduction performed by various flavoenzymes and/or their physiological redox partners, metalloproteins. The pivotal and still incompletely resolved questions in this area are the identification and characterization of the specific enzymes that are involved in the bioreduction of ArNO2 and the establishment of their contribution to cytotoxic/therapeutic action of nitroaromatics. This review addresses the following topics: (i) the intrinsic redox properties of ArNO2, in particular, the energetics of their single- and two-electron reduction in aqueous medium; (ii) the mechanisms and structure-activity relationships of reduction in ArNO2 by flavoenzymes of different groups, dehydrogenases-electrontransferases (NADPH:cytochrome P-450 reductase, ferredoxin:NADP(H) oxidoreductase and their analogs), mammalian NAD(P)H:quinone oxidoreductase, bacterial nitroreductases, and disulfide reductases of different origin (glutathione, trypanothione, and thioredoxin reductases, lipoamide dehydrogenase), and (iii) the relationships between the enzymatic reactivity of compounds and their activity in mammalian cells, bacteria, and parasites.

Background: Chromatography is one of the important laboratory technique in which the components of a mixture are separated on an adsorbent in order to analyze, identify, purify and quantify a mixture. Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC)is used to support the identity of a compound in a mixture when the Rf of a compound is compared with the Rf of a known compound. High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography is a sophisticated and automated form of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC). The procedure simultaneously processes the sample and standard that results in better analytical precision and accuracy at a faster pace. Pharmacological/ Toxicological action of Nux Vomica is because of its active principles present in the seeds namely strychnine, brucine etc. This research paper aims to corelate the active principles present in Nux Vomica with the toxicological action of the same. Materials and Methods: 1. Standard Nux Vomica mother tincture was tested for its alkaloid markers and its correlation with the toxicological action was studied. 2. Analysis of the mother tincture was done using High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography. 3. Stationary phase consisted of TLC Aluminium sheets with silica gel 60 F253 pre-coated layer (20cm x 10cm), thickness-0.2mm, no. of tracks-18, band length-6mm. 4. Mobile Phase consisted of Chloroform: Methanol (9.5:0.5). 5. The plate was developed in developing chamber and observed under U.V. Light. Results: Colours seen on the HPTLC Plates of samples are greenwhich corresponds to strychnine, dark blue which corresponds to brucine, orange to alkaloids fluorescent green to sterols and pink to fatty acids which are evident on the chromatogram. Conclusion: Therapeutic action of Nux Vomica as noted in Homoeopathic Materia Medica is because of the active principles like strychnine, brucine, alkaloids, sterols, fatty acids present in it which is evident from the chromatogram.
