The article presents the simplified implementation of alternative load path method based on the energy balance approach. This method should be used to check the global resistance of a damaged structural system after the occurrence of an accidental event. Basic assumptions of simplified analytical models for modelling resistance of horizontal ties in a damaged structural system, taking into account the membrane (chain) effects, were presented. An approach to modelling the dynamic resistance of a damaged structural system based on the energy balance method is described. Calculated dependencies for checking the robustness of a prefabricated multi-storey building with hollow-core slabs after the loss of the central column are proposed and considered using an example. On the considered example, a comparison of the required tie sections area with the dynamic resistance designed using the energy balance method (EBM) and according to the current standards, and a statistical assessment of the reliability of the load-bearing capacity models are carried out. In the end, a brief algorithm for the simplified calculation of the dynamic resistance of a damaged structural system is proposed.

This paper proposes a dissipative resilient observer and controller (DROC) design for a network controlled system (NCS) that handles faults, implementation errors, or cyberattacks that can be modeled as bounded controller or observer gain perturbations. It presents linear matrix inequality (LMI) conditions for the robust stability of the system in the presence of bounded perturbations in the observer and controller. Furthermore, a new LMI-based time-delay control (TDC) algorithm that mitigates the effects of perturbations due to time-delays in the NCS is introduced. The robust methodology is applied to active control of a scaled model of a structural system equipped with an active mass driver system. The results demonstrate that the proposed methodology is robust and ensures stable system response due to various types of earthquake base excitations.

Housing in modern societies is a priority need. In the countries of industrial development, there are very sharp contrasts with respect to the housing deficit, affecting the great majority of the families with lower economic resources that solve their problem through subhuman constructions, elaborated, mostly, with residues of construction and disassembly of old buildings, highlighting the importance of the economy, from the financial point of the house built on the architectural quality and comfort. The need to create new building systems based on wood for homes arises when considering the few existing alternatives in developing countries that guarantee an economic, massive and fundamentally sustainable construction. In this sense, this research aims to make a contribution to the implementation of new structural elements for the sustainable construction of wooden houses, which can be manufactured by low technology processes, allowing easy use and appropriation by the general population. The system is called TENSO-WOOD, which is conceived as a system of solid wood plates of Caribbean pine, developed by means of low technology processes that allow an easy appropriation by the population in general. This paper presents a frame structural system using tensioned wood panels as structural elements. It is a lightweight prefabrication system for the construction of two-storey wooden houses. The system consists of bolted wood elements, creating different structural panels such as beam and column. An experimental program was carried out, which allowed knowing the mechanical behavior of each panel of the frame structure. In addition, it permits to know their maximum stress and deformations. The numerical models were compared with the experimental tests to validate and calibrate some parameters in the simulations. Therefore, the numerical models can be able to compute the load capacity and deformation of the wooden elements, obtaining behavior curves.

The purpose of the article is to define the concept, system and content of fair justice standards and outline their relationship to standards of evidence in criminal proceedings. The purpose of the study is to reveal the content of the right to a fair trial, distinguish fair justice standards and establish its relationship with standards of evidence in criminal proceedings. The research methodology consists of comparative law, structural system methods and formal legal methods. The study found that testing standards are covered by justice standards, expanding, specifying, and clarifying their content. The content of the fair justice standards "examination of the case by an independent and impartial tribunal established by law", "adversarial procedure", "equality of the parties", "frankness of the examination of evidence", "presumption of innocence" and reveals the "motivation of judicial decisions". It is concluded that each of these concepts is a heuristic contribution to test standards. As a result of the study, the author's definition of the concept of "fair justice standards" is formulated and the concept is based on its relationship with the standards of evidence in criminal proceedings.

The article is devoted to the analysis of biometric personal data, which is proposed to be considered as a source of information about a person and used during pre-trial investigation of criminal offences. The relevance of the research topic lies in the need to develop an optimal mechanism for using biometric personal data in the activities of pre-trial investigation bodies. The purpose of the research is to analyse the current international and national legislation on determining the place of biometric personal data in the criminal record system, implement their classification and provide recommendations for use by state bodies and individuals. To achieve this goal, the work used dialectical, historical-legal, formal-logical, dogmatic, structural-system and comparative-legal methods. It is proved that various types of biometric personal data accumulated in the criminal record system can be successfully used in the process of investigating criminal offences, and in some cases by individuals within the limits of their statutory powers. It was noted that along with the positive results of such activities, there are certain risks, namely, the presence of a threat of leakage and access to biometric data by unauthorized persons, as evidenced by the negative judicial practice of individual countries regarding unsatisfactory collection, processing, storage and use of biometric personal data. Taking into account the above, it is stated that the collection, processing and use of biometric personal data for the purpose of their use in the investigation of criminal offences must meet certain requirements, namely: the owner of the database of biometric personal data should only be the state represented by a special state body. Accordingly, the state should ensure the storage and protection of biometric personal data

Abstract - The issue of global warming strongly encourages architects to use sustainable materials to preserve nature. Bamboo material is an ecological and sustainable material. Bamboo is also predicted as a future material. The strengths and advantages of bamboo are very likely to be used as a building construction material. Unfortunately, it is not uncommon for bamboo material to be used inappropriately so that it does not optimize the ecological and sustainable properties of bamboo. The object of study chosen was the Bumi Pemuda Rahayu bamboo hall. This object is close to the concept of sustainability as seen from the function of the building, which is a co-creating space that prioritizes sustainability-related activities. This research uses qualitative-quantitative methods that will compare the theory regarding the concept of sustainability of materials related to the building material life cycle with the data obtained. The concept will be divided into three aspects, namely design aspects, construction aspects, and maintenance and renovation aspects. These three aspects can be examined by knowing the object data related to these aspects. The results of the study will answer whether the use of bamboo material in the object of study is in accordance with the concept of sustainability of the bamboo material. The analysis of the design stage pays attention to material selection, material preservation, how to optimize the age of bamboo and the selection of a structural system. The construction stage is analyzed by considering the type of connection used. The maintenance and renovation phases are analyzed by paying attention to how to renovate the bamboo structure and post-construction maintenance of the building. This building is appropriate in choosing the type of material, applying preservation of bamboo materials, and successfully preventing bamboo from environmental influences in order to reach its optimal age. In terms of structural system selection, this building is also appropriate by applying the arc rod structural system. Bolted joints are appropriate for complex structural systems, it's just that there must be special treatment at the base of the arc structure that receives the greatest load due to cracks. Renovation and maintenance aspects must be considered again because this building will have difficulty if you have to do renovations, especially on the arc structure. Maintenance that is rarely performed can also reduce the life of the building.   Key Words: bamboo, sustainable materials, Bumi Pemuda Rahayu

This work deals with the fatigue reliability assessment of a welded joint in a longitudinal stiffener of trapezoidal shape in a very fast ferry. Based on the analysis of wave and cargo induced loads the ship hull structure is evaluated. The local structure is represented by a longitudinal stiffener with a trapezoidal transverse section. The critical hot-spots and the stress distributions are defined by FEM. The fatigue damage assessment of considered hot spots is analysed accounting for the combination of wave induced and car-breaking transient loadings. The formulation for the assessment of the welded steel joint is based on the S-N approach and FORM/SORM techniques are applied to evaluate the reliability against fatigue failure accounting for corrosion deterioration. The structural system composed by several hot spots is evaluated as a series system based on second order reliability bounds.

Gridshells are shells where the structural system is some kind of grid of linear members rather than a surface. With today’s focus on environmentally friendly solutions, gridshells have gained increased relevance as inherently material-efficient structures. This paper investigates the recent research on gridshells, who performs it and what their contributions are, and will thus provide an overview of the research field of gridshells. This study is performed as a systematic mapping. The articles were categorised by research type, motivation, contribution, gridshell type, material, and scientific field. The study shows that most articles are within structural engineering, whereas contributions from architecture were hard to find. The typical study was theoretical studies performing analyses on a specific load or structural behaviour. Some possible knowledge gaps were also identified, including review articles on loads and behaviour, research on bending active metal gridshells and development of gridshell nodes.

The application of the fractional-order PID (FOPID) controller is recently becoming a topic of research interest for vibration control of structures. Some researchers have successfully implemented the FOPID controller in a single-input single-output (SISO) control structural system subjected to earthquake excitations. However, there is a lack of research that focuses on its application in multi-input multi-output (MIMO) control systems to implement it in seismic-excited structures. In this case, the cross-coupling of the process channels in the MIMO control structural system may result in a complex design process of controllers so that each loop is independently designed. From an operational point of view, the time delay and saturation limit of the actuators are other challenges that significantly affect the performance and robustness of the controller so that ignoring them in the design process may lead to unrealistic results. According to the challenges, the present study proposed an optimal fractional-order PID control design approach for structural control systems subjected to earthquake excitation. Gases Brownian motion optimization (GBMO) algorithm is utilized for optimal tuning of the controller parameters. Considering six real earthquakes and seven performance indices, the performance of the proposed controller, implemented on a ten-story building equipped with an active tendon system (ATS), is compared with those provided by the classical PID controller. Simulation results indicate that the proposed FOPID controller is more efficient than the PID in both terms of seismic performance and robustness against time-delay effects. The proposed FOPID controller can maintain suitable seismic performance in small time delays, while a significant performance loss is observed for the PID controller.
