This paper addresses the translator’s role from an ideological standpoint and seeks to show that the actions of translators are not completely arbitrary and may be influenced by a wide array of factors and especially ideologies. The basic assumption is that translators can detach texts neither from the ideologies of the source nor the target culture. This study results from qualitative research, namely a critical conceptual analysis of the selected theories of translation studies (Baker, 2006; Lefevere, 1992; Venuti, 1995). The conceptual reflection implies that translations serve as an infinite source of culture and history, serving the target but not the source culture. The critical discourse analysis of English translations of two selected novels that contain the ideologies of socialist and post-socialist era, and the Nazi ideology, suggests that the tendencies in translation strategies vary depending on diffusion of the languages, and awareness of the target culture and history.

Over the past few decades, various recommendation system paradigms have been developed for both research and industrial purposes to satisfy the needs and preferences of users when they deal with enormous data. The collaborative filtering (CF) is one of the most popular recommendation techniques, although it is still immature and suffers from some difficulties such asparsity, gray sheep and scalability impeding recommendation quality. Therefore, we propose a new CF approach to deal with the gray sheep problem in order to improve the predictions accuracy. To realize this goal, our solution aims to infer new users from real ones existing in datasets. This transformation allows for creating users with opposite preferences to the real ones. On the one hand, our approach permits to amplify the number of neighbors, especially in the case of users who have unusual behavior (gray sheep). On the other hand, it facilitates building a dense similar neighborhood. The basic assumption behind this is that if user X is not similar to user Y, then the imaginary user ¬X is similar to the user Y. The performance of our approach was evaluated using two datasets, MovieLens and FilmTrust. Experimental results have shown that our approach surpasses many traditional recommendation approaches.

When exploring the audience perception of digital special effects cinema and the staggering success it has enjoyed, the explorer will often be left with a sense of confusion. They may ask: What is it that the audience is looking for or at when confronted with these pixilated illusions? This thesis attempts to answer that question. It starts with the basic assumption that what the audience is hoping to achieve when 'touched' by the phenomenal spectacle of the digital image is the very best feeling achievable, or the truly sublime. To do this, the thesis unravels the philosophical and theoretical quandaries that surround audience perception theory. It then examines digital special effects and digital cinema to understand, not only its attraction, but also its power over the viewer lost in its awesome potential. By exploring the governing theories behind the sublime and audience perception, the thesis is able to contend that the digital special effects image becomes carnally real or 'alive'. Through the examination of a number of seminal digital special effects movies the thesis tries not only to de-mystify the digital image, but to also create an aesthetic, situational 'map' to the feeling of the sublime.

One of the most interesting legal ideas in the current legal literature of Indonesia is progressive law. This is because progressive law has challenged the existence of modern law which has so far been considered established in punishment. The law reveals the veil and overthrows the failures of modern law based on positiveistic, legalistic and linear philosophy to address issues developed in accordance with the law as a matter of human and humanity. Progressive law contains the liberating spirit of liberation from the legalistic and linear conventional legal conviction. Running a law is not merely textual legislation but in running the law must be by determination, empathy, dedication, commitment to the suffering of the nation to dare to find another way to prosper human. Progressive law starts from a basic assumption, law is an institution that aims to bring people to a life of justice, prosperity and make people happy. The flexibility of the development of Islamic legal thought is highly relevant to introducing the ethos of progresivism in the dynamics and crystallization of Islamic law. The implication of this progressive mode of thinking is the liberation of mankind from mythological, passive and aggressive-conservative things. On the basis of this progressive ethos, it is recognized the capacity of the free will, free act.

The aim of this literature review was to find out any topics which had discussed and researched scientifically according to behavior, perception, maternal, pregnancy, and labor, especially in 2015 - 2021. The method of literature review was descriptive quantitative. Literatures were tracked by using Mendeley, then selected and processed by using VOS Viewer. They were also manually processed according to completeness of each literature. Of the 4 main discussion clusters had been found, i.e. target clusters, mothers, risk groups, and health services, there were determined several main topics and keywords i.e: examination (care), mothers, factors, experiences, childbirth, and antenatal care. Meanwhile, topics those rarely discussed or researched were perceptions and adolescents. The most collected literatures were published in 2019 (29%), followed by 2020 (22%), and 2015 (15%). Most of the research or studies of the collected literatures were conducted descriptively and took research locations in Indonesia and African countries. Of the selected literatures rose basic assumption that the high maternal mortality rate, especially in Indonesia, is closely related to the lack of utilization of health facilitaties, as a result of the improper behavior of pregnant women in maintaining pregnancy and labor. This behavior is based on mindsets and perceptions related to pregnancy and labor, which have been formed since the pregnant women were teenagers. (9 pt).

This paper aims to shed light on the miserableness, ill-being, and sufferings of the Arab women in the Arab man-dominated communities as represented in Al-Shaykh’s The Story of Zahra. It aims to expose the Arab men’s view of the Arab women who are perceived not as equal partners but as objects of physical pleasure created to fulfill their sexual desires. The main argument in this paper is meant to unveil the gruesome face of the Arab’s view about their women. It argues that for the Arab women to lead a normal life full of love, peace, respect, and tolerance like their counterparts all over the world, they have to get rid of their inner chains and some social man-made taboos have to be questioned and challenged. This is the basic assumption of this paper. For women be seen as independent and visible entities, their needs must be met and their voices must be heard and both women and men should collaborate to achieve a reformed nationalism free of male dominance. Instead of being viewed as passive victims of male-dominated societies, Arab women must be treated as unique persons with all of their complexities. Besides, the author criticizes the Arab society for the meaning and practice of social discrimination and inequality against women not only in the whole community but also within the same family (male and female).

The New Kremlinology is the first in-depth examination of the development of regime personalisation in Russia. In the post-Cold War period, many previously democratising countries experienced authoritarian reversals whereby incumbent leaders took over and gravitated towards personalist rule. Scholars have predominantly focused on the authoritarian turn, as opposed to the type of authoritarian rule emerging from it. In a departure from accounts centred on the failure of democratisation in Russia, this book's argument begins from a basic assumption that the political regime of Vladimir Putin is a personalist regime in the making. Focusing on the politics within the Russian ruling coalition since 1999, The New Kremlinology describes the process of regime personalisation, that is, the acquisition of personal power by a leader. Drawing from comparative evidence and theories of personalist rule, the investigation is based on four components of regime personalisation: patronage networks, deinstitutionalisation, media personalisation, and establishing permanency in office. The fact that Russia has gradually acquired many---but not all---of the characteristics associated with a personalist regime, underscores the complexity of political change and that we need to unpack the concept of personalism to understand it better. The lessons of the book extend beyond Russia and illuminate how other personalist and personalising regimes emerge and develop. Furthermore, the title of the book, The New Kremlinology, is chosen to emphasise not only the subject matter, the what, but also the how --- the battery of innovative methods employed to study the black box of non-democratic politics.
