Research shows that embedded relations can facilitate the resource acquisition process in entrepreneurship. Yet, as relations are dynamic and subject to change, it remains unclear how entrepreneurs can acquire necessary resources when pre-existing ties may not yet or no longer be relevant, sufficient or accessible. Under these circumstances, acquiring necessary resources is a challenge and one that novice entrepreneurs in project-based enterprises face repeatedly as they seek to sustain their businesses. Evidence from 123 projects developed by six newly formed independent television production companies in the UK shows that new entrepreneurs can manoeuvre around constraints by engaging in one of four counter-fate relational practices: posturing (i.e. exaggerating interest from key ties), status sequencing (i.e. developing key relations in sequence based on status), geographic sequencing (i.e. attaining key ties in sequence based on location), and opportunistic manoeuvring (i.e. manipulating the opportunism of potential resource-holders). We contribute to entrepreneurship research by showing how resources can be acquired despite a lack of key embedded ties, and highlight enabling conditions; and to project studies by illustrating how projects progress past nascence to launch and acquire new clients or repeat commissions.

The residual buoyancy of vessels after damage has a fundamental role in their survivability and it is implemented through adequate ship internal subdivision. Traditionally the number and the position of transverse watertight bulkheads are selected for most ships early in the design phase by means of the “floodable length curve” coupled with the concept of “margin line”. However, for naval vessels, it is more and more common during the acquisition process to explore a wide domain of feasible ships, identified with the assistance of automated processes and assessed also in terms of capabilities, among which is survivability. The generation and the comparison of a considerable number of different ship configurations is very time consuming. Therefore recourse to a parametric expression of the floodable length curve is considered to be a very efficient approach and would thus enable characterisation of the ship, in terms of survivability performance. In this paper such an approach is presented, using an offshore patrol vessel (OPV) as the case study.

The importance of the knowledge of the basic bibliography concerned to graduation course is emphazised. lt establishes a "ratio" that results of the relation between the enrolled students number and the book copies number existent in library. This "ratio" determines neessities under guantitative view-point and shows priorities in the acquisition process.

This article is a literature review with the objective of characterizing bilingual physical education, to then present and discuss the biggest challenge of the discipline, which is to keep the balance between the objectives and demands of physical education along with the process of acquiring a new language, and then create concepts for how to achieve this balance. This balance proposed for the discipline is something complex and at the same time subtle, we analyzed a specific article that seeks to concentrate all the difficulties of bilingual physical education in two dilemmas, and based on this analysis, the concept of the "three pillars of bilingual physical education" is proposed. The concept of the three pillars represents, in an integral and objective way, all the demands that the teacher needs to take into consideration to teach an ideal bilingual physical education class. The first pillar represents physical education, and all its demands. The second pillar is the process of acquiring a new language. Finally, the third pillar represents the optimization of time that the teacher needs to make to adapt the new demands within the classes, where with these pillars the most common mistakes that happen in the search for an efficient bilingual physical education were presented. It was concluded that to achieve an efficient bilingual physical education there is a need to balance the objectives of physical education mixed with the acquisition process of a new language, through the concept of the three pillars.

Omnidirectional (or 360°) cameras are acquisition devices that, in the next few years, could have a big impact on video surveillance applications, research, and industry, as they can record a spherical view of a whole environment from every perspective. This paper presents two new contributions to the research community: the CVIP360 dataset, an annotated dataset of 360° videos for distancing applications, and a new method to estimate the distances of objects in a scene from a single 360° image. The CVIP360 dataset includes 16 videos acquired outdoors and indoors, annotated by adding information about the pedestrians in the scene (bounding boxes) and the distances to the camera of some points in the 3D world by using markers at fixed and known intervals. The proposed distance estimation algorithm is based on geometry facts regarding the acquisition process of the omnidirectional device, and is uncalibrated in practice: the only required parameter is the camera height. The proposed algorithm was tested on the CVIP360 dataset, and empirical results demonstrate that the estimation error is negligible for distancing applications.

The aim: The aim of this article, taking into account aviation personnel professional training evolution and information technologies development, is a presentation of approach to problems solving, relating to future air traffic controllers training personalization by means of training individual profiles forming, taking into account their cognitive characteristics. The method: The approach, which is based on selected criteria – oriented test, by means of which the proper training styles defined, is described in this article. The results: depending on the defined training style, the variants of instructor’s guidance of knowledge, skills and habits acquisition process will be defined. The discussion: In future it provides the possibility to project the training packages according to ‘pupils’ individualized cognitive abilities, relating to reception of professionally oriented training materials.
