Performance of the national fencing team of Ukraine at the XXXII Olympic Games and the prospects of its performance at the next Olympic Games

Analysis of Ukrainian athletes’ results at the XXXII Olympiad Games allows pointing out the factors of the weak performance of Ukrainian athletes in women's individual saber and epee competitions, as well as men's team epee competitions, despite the possibility of winning medals in these sports events according to many analysts including those of Infostrada Sports and other sports statistics experts. These, in our opinion, include an unsatisfactory level of efficiency of the process of reaching the peak of readiness for the Olympic Games; lack of psychological stability of athletes at the competitions; weak tactical preparation of some athletes. Based on the performances of athletes of the Ukrainian fencing team in Tokyo, a conclusion was made about the unsatisfactory level of athletes’ preparation for the XXXII Olympic Games. Only 20% of the national team members were able to realize their potential at the XXXII Olympic Games. The dynamics of the athletes’ results at the World Championships 2017 – 2019 indicates the need to use in the new Olympic cycle the planning, which is focused on our athletes reaching the peak of readiness for the Olympics: at first, the training should be aimed at the maximum stimulation of the growth of sportsmanship, whereas at the final stage it should be focused on its realization in the major competitions. It is shown that despite the unsuccessful performance of the Ukrainian fencing team in the Olympic Tokyo, this type of martial arts has significant potential for improving sports achievements at the XXXIII Olympic Games 2024 in Paris. It is noted that in the new Olympic cycle it is of crucial importance to identify candidates for the XXXIII Olympic Games as soon as possible and to create all the conditions for their full-fledged preparation. Thus, to ensure further winning medal places at the Olympic Games, it is necessary to improve the system of sports training in the Olympic cycle, which envisages participation in numerous competitions during the year to achieve a high level of readiness in the major competitions of triennial – the Olympic Games.

An Empirical Study on the Teaching Reform of Sports Statistics Based on PBL Teaching Method

As far as the current development of undergraduate education in my country is concerned, the physical education major has become one of the important components of its professional composition, which affects the comprehensiveness of teaching to a certain extent. Therefore, when the relevant colleges and universities reform the teaching system of the physical education major, they should conduct in-depth exploration of their specific teaching courses in a timely manner, so as to realize the teaching progress in the new era in a comprehensive and detailed manner. Sports statistics, as one of the key components of the physical education major, reforms and empirical research on its teaching in a timely manner is of constructive significance for promoting its comprehensive development strength.

The application status and development trend of sports statistical methods

The continuous and in-depth development of the reform of the education system and the changes in science and technology have gradually made the methods of sports research by the majority of educators become more diverse. Therefore, while achieving high achievements in sports statistics research, physical education teachers in colleges and universities need to be able to use them efficiently in order to achieve the purpose of establishing high-quality sports classrooms. This article starts with the actual situation of the application of sports statistics and discusses its main development trends, hoping to provide some reference for other educators.

Neural Networks and Betting Strategies for Tennis

Recently, the interest of the academic literature on sports statistics has increased enormously. In such a framework, two of the most significant challenges are developing a model able to beat the existing approaches and, within a betting market framework, guarantee superior returns than the set of competing specifications considered. This contribution attempts to achieve both these results, in the context of male tennis. In tennis, several approaches to predict the winner are available, among which the regression-based, point-based and paired comparison of the competitors’ abilities play a significant role. Contrary to the existing approaches, this contribution employs artificial neural networks (ANNs) to forecast the probability of winning in tennis matches, starting from all the variables used in a large selection of the previous methods. From an out-of-sample perspective, the implemented ANN model outperforms four out of five competing models, independently of the considered period. For what concerns the betting perspective, we propose four different strategies. The resulting returns on investment obtained from the ANN appear to be more broad and robust than those obtained from the best competing model, irrespective of the betting strategy adopted.

Research on Judicial Practice of School Physical Education Injury Cases in Jiangxi Province——Statistical Analysis Based on the Big Data of China Judgement Online

”Justice is the last line to maintain social fairness and justice”. Student right for life, body and health can only be guaranteed through judicial channels. Once the school sports injury cases happen, the results are serious, which seriously affects the students’ academic completion, and brings heavy economics and psychological burden to the related families. Therefore, from the perspective of big data analysis, this paper collects and sorts out the data reports of China judgement online, and finds problems from the data statistics of school sports injury cases. By using SPSS and other sports statistics related software to analyze the variables involved in the case, the paper truthfully reflects the current situation and problems of the case. Finally, the paper puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to prevent and solve the school sports injuries in Jiangxi Province, in order to provide theoretical reference for the construction of school sports law in China.
