Introduction. Biofilms are the natural growth state for most microorganisms. C. albicans biofilms are composed of multiple cell types (round budding yeast-form cells, oval pseudohyphal cells, and elongated hyphal cells) encased in an extracellular matrix. C. albicans biofilms are notorious for resistance to antimicrobial treatments, a property that might be determined by complex mechanisms. Exogenous farnesol exerts a certain antifungal activity against C. albicans with medical implications. Different from other microbes, C. albicans biofilms can tolerate exogenous farnesol at high concentration with some cells still surviving and even maintaining proliferation, but the mechanism is unclear. Hypothesis. The study hypothesizes that C. albicans resists farnesol by activating the PKC signalling pathway. Aim. The study aims to discuss the molecular mechanism of C. albicans resistance to farnesol. Methodology. The ROS levels, the genes and proteins of the PKC pathway were compared between the farnesol-tolerant and non-tolerant groups using ROS levels assay, q-RT PCR and Western blot, respectively. Further, the mutant strains (pkc1Δ/Δ and mkc1Δ/Δ) were constructed, then the survival rates and ROS levels of biofilms exposed to farnesol were compared between mutant and wild strains. The morphological changes were observed using TEM. Results. The survival rates of C. albicans biofilms decreased rapidly under the lower concentration of farnesol (P<0.05), and kept stable (P>0.05) as the concentration rose up to 200 µM. The gene expression of the PKC pathway increased, while ROS levels remained stable and even decreased in the farnesol-tolerant biofilms, compared with those in the farnesol-nontolerant biofilms after farnesol treatment (P<0.05); pkc1 and mkc1 were significantly upregulated by C. albicans during the development of biofilm tolerance to farnesol. The cell wall and cytoplasm of pkc1Δ/Δ and mkc1Δ/Δ were damaged, and the ROS level increased (P<0.05); meanwhile, the survival rate of biofilms decreased compared with that of wild-type strain under the same farnesol concentrations (P<0.05). ROS inhibitors reversed these changes in pkc1Δ/Δ and mkc1Δ/Δ when the mutant strains exposed to farnesol. Conclusion. C. albicans biofilms can tolerate high concentrations of farnesol by activating pkc1 and mkc1 of the PKC pathway and stabilizing ROS levels. The pkc1 and mkc1 are two key genes regulated by C. albicans in the process of biofilm tolerance to farnesol.

Currently, seed priming is reported as an efficient and low-cost approach to increase crop yield, which could not only promote seed germination and improve plant growth state but also increase abiotic stress tolerance. Salinity represents one of the most significant abiotic stresses that alters multiple processes in plants. The accumulation of polyamines (PAs) in response to salt stress is one of the most remarkable plant metabolic responses. This paper examined the effect of osmopriming on endogenous polyamine metabolism at the germination and early seedling development of Brassica napus in relation to salinity tolerance. Free, conjugated and bound polyamines were analyzed, and changes in their accumulation were discussed with literature data. The most remarkable differences between the corresponding osmoprimed and unprimed seeds were visible in the free (spermine) and conjugated (putrescine, spermidine) fractions. The arginine decarboxylase pathway seems to be responsible for the accumulation of PAs in primed seeds. The obvious impact of seed priming on tyramine accumulation was also demonstrated. Moreover, the level of ethylene increased considerably in seedlings issued from primed seeds exposed to salt stress. It can be concluded that the polyamines are involved in creating the beneficial effect of osmopriming on germination and early growth of Brassica napus seedlings under saline conditions through moderate changes in their biosynthesis and accumulation.

The cell cycle of such a subject has been thoroughly studied, yet here we are examining for the second time that we have entered a new phase; Biology always has new insights to show us. This data was amazing. This map is based on this beautiful circular pattern that we have identified as all the different stages of the cell cycle. Have a disease. When Placer and colleagues used the ccAF tool to analyze cell data for glioma tumors, we found that tumor cells were often in the G0 or G1 nerve growth state. With tumor aggression, fewer cells remain at rest in the G0 nerve state. This means that more cells are growing and growing in the tumor. The consequences of climate change are an important point of contention in the current policy debate on the sustainability of economic development and growth. Climate change contributes to many socio-economic disadvantages and risks. The primary objective of global policy 2050 is to fully understand the negative externalities of environmental change. Goal and methodology: the main goal of the study is to examine convergence to the steady green growth state for a sample of 130 countries from 1990 to 2019. Setting up an efficient and consistent policy to fight climate change demands empirical knowledge on green growth. Using log (t) test methodology, we investigate convergence in green growth indicators for selected samples based on available country data. Findings: our assumptions are: (1) economies are not motivated and eager to foster energy transition; instead, they accept it as a random policy goal and (2) economies want to foster energy transition, but they are limited by a significant trade-off factor pulling their efforts down. Convergence testing shows the existence of two significant convergence clubs, one with countries moving to energy transition and the second still promoting national output based on fossil fuels. The findings indicate future divergence between the two clubs and significant convergence within identified convergence clubs. Conclusions: the energy transition is moving forward at two-tier speed with green leaders and green follower clubs. Policymakers and practitioners must closely monitor the dynamics of green growth to assess the risk and uncertainties of climate change.

Abstract. Increasing the level of income and quality of life of the rural population, the creation of comfortable conditions for his residence and ensuring financial inclusiveness is the priority direction of modern state policy. The purpose of the study is an analysis of the state and trends in the development of agricultural credit consumer cooperation, as well as the substantiation of the areas of its further development in the context of increasing financial inclusiveness in the village. Methods. The theoretical and methodological base of the study was the scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists on inclusive economic growth, state regulation and the organizational and economic mechanism for the development of agricultural credit consumer cooperation. The study used a systematic approach using methods for analyzing and synthesis, generalizations, comparisons, inductions and deduction, statistical and economic analysis. Results. The dynamics of the development of agricultural credit consumer cooperation in Russia is considered. The reduction in the number of agricultural credit consumer cooperatives (ACCC) under the influence of a number of negative factors, such as: the absence of the state program for their development; transmission of control and supervision functions for their activities in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation; low level of income of rural residents and distrust of credit cooperation; the lack of an insurance system for contributing members of cooperatives, etc. The trend has been identified to increase the loan portfolio of ACCC, which indicates a high need for affordable loans from rural small businesses and the population. These theoretical and empirical studies reflect the close relationship between the development of credit cooperation on the village with a change in the institutional environment. Scientific novelty. The results of the study made it possible to substantiate measures to improve state policies aimed at creating a favorable institutional environment for the development of ACCC. The interrelation of the growth of the financial inclusion of rural areas and the positive dynamics of the development of ACCC is allocated.

The pathogenesis of respiratory diseases is complex, and its occurrence and development also involve a series of pathological processes. The present research methods are have difficulty simulating the natural developing state of the disease in the body, and the results cannot reflect the real growth state and function in vivo. The development of microfluidic chip technology provides a technical platform for better research on respiratory diseases. The size of its microchannel can be similar to the space for cell growth in vivo. In addition, organ-on-a-chip can achieve long-term co-cultivation of multiple cells and produce precisely controllable fluid shear force, periodically changing mechanical force, and perfusate with varying solute concentration gradient. To sum up, the chip can be used to analyze the specific pathophysiological changes of organs meticulously, and it is widely used in scientific research on respiratory diseases. The focus of this review is to describe and discuss current studies of artificial respiratory systems based on organ-on-a-chip technology and to summarize their applications in the real world.
