Today, up to hundreds of RGB and W-LEDs are positioned in a vehicle’s interior context and are able to be individually controlled in intensity, color and sequence. However, which kind of illumination distracts or supports car occupants and how to define such a modern illumination system is still under discussion and unknown. For that, first a definition for an in-vehicle lighting system is introduced. Second, a globally distributed study was performed based on a free-access online survey to investigate in-vehicle lighting for visual signaling within 10 colors, eight positions and six dynamic patterns. In total, 238 participants from China and Europe rated color preferences, color moods, light-position preferences, differences between manual and autonomous driving and also different meanings for dynamic lighting patterns. Out of these, three strong significant (p < 0.05) color preference groups were identified with a polarized, accepted or merged character. For the important driving-signaling mood attention, we found a significant hue dependency for Europeans which was missing within the Chinese participants. In addition, we identified that light positioned at the door and foot area was globally favored. Furthermore, we evaluated qualitative results: men are primarily focusing on fast-forward, whereas women paid more attention on practical light usage. These findings conclude the need for a higher lighting-car-occupant adaptation in the future grounded by deeper in-vehicle human factors research to achieve a higher satisfaction level. In interdisciplinary terms, our findings might also be helpful for interior building or general modern cockpit designs for trains or airplanes.

The importance of reducing discomfort glare during the dynamic development of high luminance LEDs is growing fast. Smart control systems also offer great opportunities to reduce electricity consumption for lighting purposes. Currently, dynamic “intelligent” lighting systems are a rapidly developing field. These systems, consisting of cameras and lighting units, such as moving heads or multimedia projectors, are powerful tools that provide a lot of opportunities. The aim of this research is to demonstrate the possibilities of using the projection light in dynamic lighting systems that enable the reduction of discomfort glare and the light pollution phenomenon. The proposed system allows darkening or reducing the luminance of some sensitive zones, such as the eyes or the head, in real-time. This paper explores the development of the markerless object tracking system. The precise identification of the position and geometry of objects and the human figure is used for dynamic lighting and mapping with any graphic content. Time measurements for downloading the depth maps, as well as for identifying the human body’s position and pose, have been performed. The analyses of the image transformation times have been carried out in relation to the resolution of the images displayed by the projector. The total computation time related to object detection and image display translates directly into the precision of fitting the projection image to a moving object and has been shown.

Overloaded work and life stress often result in excessive fatigue and stresses in people, further leading to psychological burden and physiological disease. In this case, good rest is important in busy life. Good rest could result in good quality of life and work efficiency. In order to assist people in getting into deep rest to obtain a restorative state after fatigue, a dynamic lighting system with low-frequency change for assisting users in effective relaxation is proposed in this study. Heart rate variability analysis is used for discussing the change in the autonomic nervous system of the subjects under dynamic lighting environment, and a self-report questionnaire is applied to understand the subjects’ psychological feeling. The research results indicate that the subjects significantly showed enhancement in the activities of parasympathetic nervous system within 25 minutes in the dynamic lighting process, in comparison with the steady lighting system. The questionnaire survey results also reveal that the subjects receive higher quality of rest, after the dynamic and low-illuminance lighting stimuli, with good feeling.

The paper analyses the original works in the field of architectural light and engineering belonging to the most prominent representatives of the domestic kinetic art of the 1960s (F. Infante, V.F. Koleichuk, L.N. Nusberg, as well as A. Lanin and B.M. Galeev). The conceptual basis of these works is revealed including a special attitude to light as a unique physical phenomenon and, at the same time, the most important component of a new architectural and artistic language. The practical value of the projects of special dynamic lighting of art objects, interiors of exhibition spaces, individual architectural objects and the urban environment as a whole, proposed by these authors and partly implemented by them, is revealed. It is shown in what way and for what purpose this type of synthetic art was formed at the intersection of architecture, design and engineering, which made a significant contribution to the development of both the theory and practice of architectural light engineering. In conclusion, the idea is expressed about the importance of using the considered historical experience at the present time, when every year new technical possibilities appear for creating an expressive light-colour environment, but deep content, philosophical and theoretical foundations for its design, which inspired the masters who stood at the origins of this the most important architectural and artistic direction, are lost.

Abstract Coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19 ) is a contiguous disease which is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus2(SARAS-2) started from Wuhan, china, and spread all over the world within a few months in 2019. Government of all countries had to apply lockdown to decrease the number of affected patient as mortality rate of many countries became very high at that time. In the awake of 2nd wave of COVID 19 WHO has made mandatory to use mask in largely crowded areas, health centers, communities and in different places to prevent spread of virus. Many countries have invented the vacancies but it will firstly available for corona front line warriors only, not for general people, So, people have to wear mask when they are going out from home. But In recent days it can be followed that people are reluctant to wear mask when they are entering in offices, departmental stores or local shops where, gathering might happen anytime. This could lead to spread of COVID-19 among the communities. With the help of computer-vision, people who are not wearing mask can be detected by generating an alarm signal. To achieve this challenging task, a face mask detector ‘HybridFaceMaskNet’ is proposed, which is a combination of classical Machine Learning and deep learning algorithm. ‘HybridFaceMaskNet’ can achieve state-of-art accuracy on public faces. The real challenges are the low-quality images, different distances of people from camera and dynamic lighting on the faces at daylight or in artificial light. This problem can be overcome by using different noise removal techniques. HybridFaceMaskNet is trained with three different classification of images ‘proper-mask’, ‘incorrect-mask’ and ‘no-mask’ which are collected from real life images and some synthetic data , to generate alarm for different scenario .This HybridFaceMaskNet is trained on Google Colab and is compared with different existing face mask detector model. There is a possibility of deploy the model in IOT devices as it is light weight compare to other existing models.

Perovskite nanomaterials (NMs) possess excellent physicochemical properties and have promising applications in light-emitting diodes (LEDs), lasers, photodetectors, and artificial synapse electronics. Potential exposure to these NMs happens in the manufacture and application of the perovskite-based products, however, the biological safety of these NMs is still unknown. Here, we used the LaNiO3 NM (LNO), a typical kind of perovskite nanostructures to study the interaction with macrophages (J774A.1) and to explore its biological effects at the cellular level. Firstly, we characterized the properties of LNO including the size, shape, and crystal structure using Transmission electronic microscope (TEM), Dynamic lighting scattering (DLS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Secondly, to gain a better understanding of the biological effect, we evaluated the effect of LNO on cell viability and found that LNO induced cell autophagy at a concentration of 5 μg/ml and influenced the inflammatory response based on RT-PCR result. Finally, we demonstrated the mechanism that LNO causes cell autophagy and immune response is probably due to the metal ions released from LNO in acidic lysosomes, which triggered ROS and increased lysosomal membrane permeation. This study indicates the safety aspect of perovskite NMs and may guide the rational design of perovskite NMs with more biocompatibility during their manufacture and application.
