In the Brazilian popular imagination, the discovery of oil was announced on August 9, 1938, by the Viscount of Corncob. The Donabentense Oil Company drilled Caraminguá’s first well, near the creek that passed through the Yellow Woodpecker Ranch (“Sítio do Picapau Amarelo,” in colloquial Portuguese). The latter was the name of a famous Brazilian children’s book. In fact, the first oil well flowed in Salvador, Bahia, on January 21, 1939, discovered by Manoel Ignácio Bastos (1891 - 1940), a Brazilian geographer engineer, whose business partner, Oscar Salvador Cordeiro (1890 - 1970), was the president of the Bahia Commodities Exchange. A brief analysis of documents, such as reports, Brazilian decrees and executive orders, as well as newspapers, detail the actions of these Brazilian oil pioneers. Statistical data analysis was also performed about onshore and offshore oil production between 1941 and 2019, as a part of Bastos and Cordeiros’ heritage.

Introduction. The research is focused on studying self-organization of the personality in aspect of subjectness. The technique of modeling of social and role identification of the personality is presented. The research objective - to define semantic constructs self-updating in modeling of personal identification. Methods and techniques.- Semantic approach in structuring dichotomizing couples of constructs of personal identification is used. Offered original technique "Semantic Modelling of Self-organization of the Personality" ("SMSOP"). Respondents fill "Repertoire lattices" of J. Kelly. Results of sample are factorized. Respondents make modeling of in images "I am-real", "I am-ideal" and also images of "The Self-updated Personality" (SUP) and "Nonconformist" (NC), using a set of the linguistic constructs received by means of repertoire lattices of J. Kelly). The participants are 218 psychology students. Results and discussion. Comparative data of self-renewing constructs (in the aspect of "I-ideal") and the SUP and Oil Company models are shown. Although soup is a reference model of personality achievements (according to A. Maslow et al.), a NK reveals the properties of self-affirmation, In the semantics of mental self-organization (MSS) of a personality, respondents are not fully focused on these standards. The results of the factor analysis showed the peculiarities of the semantics of the students' personality MCO in the aspect of self-renewal ("I-ideal"): emotional spontaneity and, at the same time, fortitude and self-confidence, as well as communication and well-being in life (associated with intelligence, ingenuity). Conclusions.- The semantics of self-renewing personalities is revealed to young people in positions that determine the possible, achievable aspects of the perspective of their life. The SUP and NC models are "perfect" for them.

This study was carried out to examine the extent to which the ecological marketing practice of the oil firms: Shell BP, Agip Oil Company, and Elf Oil Company have improved agricultural economic wellbeing of the oil-bearing communities in Niger Delta. A descriptive survey research design was employed in this study. The population of the study was 37,965,391 drawn from Niger Delta States based on which a sample size of 400 respondents was determined using Taro Yamane’s sample size determination techniques at 0.5 percent level of significance. The purposive sampling procedure was employed to enable the researcher to select the representative sample elements of the population interest from the right respondents who have adequate knowledge of the study under investigation from the different strata that makes up the population of the study. A structured instrument for data collection containing twenty (20) item questions was used for the study. The face and content validation of the instrument was obtained through the judgment of experts. A test-retest method was used to determine the reliability of the instrument and the reliability index of .83 was obtained. The data collected for the study were analyzed using the mean score test and the percentage test method to answered the research questions; while the inferential statistics of the Z-score test was used to test the null hypothesis at .05 level of significance. Results obtained revealed that “Ecological marketing practice of the oil firms does not significantly improved agricultural economic poverty, agricultural market failure, agricultural economic frustration, and agricultural land limitation in the oil-bearing communities in Niger Delta”. The implication of this finding is that the oil firms’ ecological sustainability marketing activities was considered to lack the needed proactive improvement values which, if ethical based ecological effort is not adopted to create sustainable improvement; oil firms might experience unpredicted operational interruption by the oil-bearing communities. It was therefore, recommended that oil firms should consider employing proactive ecological marketing efforts in a more ethical and responsible manner to sustain the agricultural economic wellbeing of the oil-bearing communities.

Abstract In a current oil & gas challenging drilling environment where the fields are becoming very congested, PAD drilling and field grid designs with close proximity wells operation is booming. Drilling challenging wells with high collision risks is common as a result of the requirement to maximize the Asset value of the oil fields. For this reason, the urge for ensuring accurate well placement is becoming critical and as a result high technology methods are required to be in place. Developing new areas where the poor and/or inaccurate drilled wells information (most of them are vertical) affect planning and placement of new wells due to the uncertainty in existing wells trajectories, causing collision issues among the new planning and the "trajectory" of the existing wells, leaving huge quantities of reservoir volume not possible to drain. For this study case, where the reservoir has some complexity due to faults and water, such limitation is critical. The analysis and fusion of new techniques and procedure to manage the risk for the collision were implemented. Directional tools with high level of accuracy measurements were deployed and stringent procedures are put in place. The Analysis, Logic, Considerations, Mitigations, Risk Assessments and a New Procedure implemented to avoid collision issues while drilling horizontal wells with Separation Factor (SF) less than 2 (standard worldwide is equal or above 2 and for this case, it was 0.6). This was developed by the Biogenic / Unconventional team, Drilling Department of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) Onshore with the support of drilling service company and the approval of the ADNOC Head Quarter, to take advantage of around 0.9 km2 of hydrocarbon area for future drain. The well was drilled successfully and safely, no collision or magnetic interference issue in any trajectory survey were reported during drilling and passing close by the existing well.
