Teaching is one of the fundamental professions in society. Pre-service English teachers’ perceptions and motivations may significantly influence their career decision-making to enter the profession. This study aimed to investigate pre-service English teachers’ perceptions and motivations to enter the teaching profession. It employed mixed-method research with questionnaire and interview as the instruments to collect data. The respondents were 44 pre-service English teachers from an English Teacher Education Department of a well-known university, in East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Results showed that the students had various perceptions regarding the teaching profession and most of them were altruistically motivated to be teachers in the future. The current study offers two important implications. First, since perceptions and motivations to enter the teaching profession are not fixed and may be influenced by the students’ family, environment, and study program, building positive perceptions and motivations should be an integrated element of the teacher education curriculum. Second, graduating students need strong support from the family, environment, and the government to maintain positive perceptions and motivations about the profession.

Most individuals are not born to be public speakers; they are educated to be developed as one. When they are in front of an audience being the focus of attention, they experience emotions leading to nausea and excessive sweating because of fear and anxiety. Individuals who have a fear of speaking in public suffer from strong fear in social performance situations and social spheres, which is known as glossophobia. This research aims to discover the different factors that cause speaking anxiety among the pre-service teachers of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College - Teacher Education Department (MPSPC-TED) in Philippines and to suggest strategies that could help prevent them from having glossophobia problem. Samples of interview output, coding, and careful analysis and interpretation of the gathered data from the selected 50 undergraduate students who had research oral presentations, oral lesson demonstrations, and oral speaking presentations have been transcribed and found out major themes that cause glossophobia problems, i.e., linguistic obstacles, audience’s manifestation, mastery of the topic and particular motives. Knowing what causes these problems, this study proposed the DISRUPT strategy to reduce students’ public speaking anxiety effectively.

The research aimed to develop interactive multimedia based on scientific inquiry to improve student mathematics problem-solving as a provision for the era of Society 5.0. The research method used is the Agile Method, which is a software development method. This study involved 120 students from the first, second, to third years who were programming mathematics-related subjects at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Teacher Education department, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo. The results of the development of Interactive Mobile Mathematics Inquiry (IMMI) were valid and proven to improve student problem-solving abilities. In particular, this increase is significant in planning and implementing student plans for a problem. The significance is due to the training in the inquiry aspects during the use of IMMI. The implication of this research in the field of educational technology is that IMMI can be a preliminary study and a pioneer for lecturers, experts, and practitioners to use and further develop IMMI to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills at the tertiary level more broadly as preparation for media availability following the values of technological advances in the future Society 5.0 era.

This research aims to study students’ High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in Primary Teacher Education Department of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) viewed from their Self-Regulated Learning (SRL). The research method in this research is a mixed method of a sequential explanatory model. This research was conducted in the Department of Primary Teacher Education at UNNES for students of class 2020 in the Basic Mathematical Concept course. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, documentation, interviews. Analysis of quantitative data in the form of validity and reliability of the instrument was followed by descriptive analysis. Qualitative data analysis was performed by triangulation and descriptive statistical analysis. Analysis of quantitative data found two categories of the level of SRL, namely medium and high levels. The results of the analysis of student answers were obtained: (1) Students with moderate SRL category interpret the questions into Mathematical language, and the way they identified the problem is less communicative, while the students with high SRL category interpret the questions into Mathematical language communicatively; (2) Based on students’ ability to evaluate, students with moderate SRL category have not been fluent yet, while the students with high SRL category have been fluent in evaluating, and (3) Based on their creativity, students with moderate SRL still need more practices, while students with high SRL category have been fluent. The conclusion of this study is the ability to interpret problems and the habit of examining problem-solving carried out into the differences between the two categories.

This article describes the educational innovation fairs (EIF), a large-scale collaborative action research initiative undertaken by an academic institution and the teacher-education department of a provincial government in India over a three-year period (2015 to 2017). The EIF initiative primarily sought to help teacher-educators in 26 sub-provincial teacher training institutes (STTIs) realize the potential of teacher-generated innovations to enrich the teacher training curriculum in the state-run schooling system. It required teacher-educators to identify and validate innovative teacher-generated work, that was then displayed for two days in a year in a public exhibition visited by a large number of teachers. Case studies of the displayed work were then sent to schools and used in teacher training programmes. The EIF experience indicates the importance of setting the political and academic context carefully if action research is to take off in the public education system. Second, the policy adaptation that is inevitable in such a system implies an understanding of the deviations that might be considered tolerable. Finally, the partners need to jointly reflect on and consciously plan their post-collaboration individual trajectories during the collaboration itself, for the outcomes of action research have to be embedded in an evolving research agenda aimed at continuous improvement.

The recommendation system is a software to provide recommendations to users about the products they can use. The administrative problem in the office of the Primary School Teacher Education department at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang is one of the problems faced by the Administration staff and part timers. The use of manual systems that are still running at this time is considered to be less effective against time, place, and energy, so that assistance in the form of information systems is needed. In designing this information system will use the Okapi BM25 method where this method is a ranking function used by search engines for matching document rankings according to their relevance to search queries, namely in the form of final assignment topics. BM25 has functions that are in accordance with the 3 principles of good weighting, which has an inverse document frequency (idf), term frequency (tf), and has a document length normalization function.
