It is an immense honor to have been selected to hold the prestigious 41st Nikolsky Lecture and to have the opportunity to synthesize my experiences with regards to the most important principle that permeates aeronautical engineering—“the concept of safety.” Having worked in the rotary-wing field for 39 years, with growing levels of involvement and responsibilities, I have been involved in the design, development, and certification of many helicopter models at the Leonardo Helicopters Division (LHD; formerly Agusta and then AgustaWestland), such as A109, A119, EH101, A129, NH90, AW609. More recently, I had the full responsibility of design, development, certification, and entry into service of three new helicopter types within the “AW Family concept”, specifically the AW139, AW189, and AW169. I am profoundly grateful for the mentors encountered in my professional life—Bruno Lovera and Santino Pancotti, both of whom were also honored with the Nikolsky Lectureship. In working with them, not a single day passed where the word “safety” was not mentioned. They taught me that “safety” shall be the mantra of every aeronautical engineer because it is our principal duty and responsibility, towards those who travel in, work on, and work with our products and entrust their lives to our work and professionalism daily. I have tried hard never to forget this lesson, and to convey this to the young engineers that I have had the chance and pleasure to work with. If I have been able to pass on this lesson successfully, through my work with others through this lectureship, it would be the greatest achievement of my life. In this vein, this paper is organized in three parts: (i) definitions and principles, along with some “philosophical” concepts; (ii) the application of these principles at Leonardo in the design of the latest generation of helicopters, and finally (iii) a discussion of emerging “safety technologies” that promise to improve the safety of future helicopters and operations.

As you know Islam is permanent law of life it widely contains and provides rules, regulations and guidance for all departments of life. So Islam also provides pure guidance in a complete way to one of the most complicated and enhanced aspect of life that is Finance. On behalf of specific rules and regulations opens the door of easiness, equality and facilitations for business and financial deals with ability of safety of financial transactions over the world. One of important principle in business is Kafala. In financial matters, kafala means that if one party needs to own a debt and the other party need a trust for giving debt. Therefore, the first party provides guarantee means responsibility of paying back on due time and in case of any issues of return the guarantor will be responsible. For example in some situations merchants deals the deal in two different countries presenting the bank as a guarantor instead of individuals. The bank follows formal process named LC to become legal guarantor between parties. Following article contains different discussions like introduction of LC, its methods, types and Shariah issues related.

Abstract Background: Due to their debilitating and progressive conditions, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) can reduce patients' quality of life (QOL) and cause fatigue. This study aimed to compare the effect of telephone and SMS follow-up of an empowerment program on QOL and fatigue in patients with COPD.Methods: This non blind randomized clinical trial (RCT) study was conducted on 105 patients with COPD in 2016-2017 in Shahrekord city. First, the pulmonary empowerment program was implemented for six 90-min sessions. Then, the patients were randomly assigned to three control, telephone follow-up, and SMS follow-up groups (35 individuals in each group) using a random number table. Data were collected in the first and the sixth sessions of the empowerment program and at the end of the follow-up period by demographic, QOL, and fatigue questionnaires. Eventually, they were analyzed through correlation coefficient and analysis of variance (ANOVA) tests using SPSS software (Ver. 20).Results: The study results on QOL showed that the groups were not significantly different before and after the empowerment (p > 0.05). However, they were statistically significant differences were observed between the groups at the end of the quarterly follow-up period (p < 0.001). ANOVA results for fatigue indicated no statistically significant differences between the groups before and after the empowerment (p > 0.05). The three groups were not significantly different after the intervention (p = 0.05).Conclusion: Based on the results, it is recommended to utilize follow-up as an important principle in empowerment using various technology methods and design more comprehensive empowerment to reduce patient fatigue.Trial registration: Iran National Committee for Ethics in Biomedical Research (IR.SKUMS.REC.1398.104) and the Iranian Registry of Clinical Trials (IRCT20170122032101N4) (6/4/2020).

The article examines one of the key concepts of the Eurasianists - demotia. Despite its theoretical significance, the concept of demotia, like many other Eurasian concepts, has not been developed in detail. Meanwhile, demotia, as a concept proposing new principles of self-government, is of special interest and still has a certain practical potential. In Russia, the introduction of the beginnings of local self-government is associated with the Great Reforms of Alexander II. However, the acquired rights were deemed insufficient. Of the constructive criticism of reforms in the sphere of self-government, the most consistent was the theory of A.I. Herzen (communal socialism). It was in it that the Eurasians saw the basis for the future organization of the Eurasian space, which received its form in the concept of demotia. The article examines the views of a number of Eurasians on demotia. According to their views, demotia is the most important principle of self-government, which implements the method of organic representation of the people at all levels of government (N.N. Alekseev); being a Eurasian demotic system - ί, it is fundamentally different from the Western democratic - ί (Ya.D. Sadovsky). They also pointed to the political homogeneity of the demotic system, which was seen as a huge advantage over the multiparty democratic system of the West (N.S. Trubetskoy). As a result of the study, it is concluded that demotia was a necessary part of the ideocracy-demotia construct, actively promoted in the works of the Eurasians, as a project to create a truly classless and harmonious society. Demotia combines the idea of the Eurasian nationality (the circle of traditional ideas of the Eurasian peoples) and the principle of direct democracy, which reconciles the idea of an ethnos as a people as a whole with its traditional ideas and specific ways of being and the idea of a demos as a political people.

Although testamentary freedom is an important principle in succession law, legislators and judges across the world have recognized the importance of certain family members by granting them mandatory claims in the inheritance of their deceased relative (in spite of wishes of the deceased). This article focuses on these rights. The goal is to introduce the Dutch framework of imperative succession law and to demonstrate the possibilities of combining the legal and economic discipline to deepen knowledge on these provisions. Whilst examples will focus upon succession law, the concepts will be described in a general manner. This might inspire researchers to apply a similar interdisciplinary approach in other fields of law. The imperative provisions that currently exist for family members in the Netherlands can be divided into two types of claims. The first is the legitime, a fixed claim for children of the deceased. The second type are the other statutory entitlements that cover a specified range of situations in which judges have freedom in deciding upon the requests of family members. However, this discretion raises many questions on the way judges should handle such claims. A combination of law and economics can aid in describing and interpreting the law, for example by defining the need for support that is often required for a successful claim. By relying on economic data and theory, judges can come to a more consistent and substantiated way of establishing the need for support. The interdisciplinary methodology can also improve comparative legal research. The functional approach that is common in comparative legal research, assumes that law fulfills certain functions. Economic figures provide an objective basis that demonstrates what functions a law fulfills and to what extent this is done efficiently. This information can be used to compare the functioning of laws in different countries.

The authors, a neuroscientist and a Buddhist monastic who met through the Emory Tibet Science Initiative, highlight similarities in the understanding of mental activities found in both traditions. An important principle discovered is the parallel processing of multiple mental activities, which reveals the existence of a unitary self and free will as illusions. These insights provide the rationale in Buddhism to develop a culture of compassion. Meanwhile western psychology and neuroscience have found brain circuits that have evolved to support social and even altruistic behaviors, giving compassion a physical basis in our brains as well. These insights then set the stage for a shared interest in an altruistic compassionate society.

Human is the subject of social and historical development process. The essence of human is the sum of social relations, and the masses are the creators of history. This is the basic content of social subject research methods, and also an important principle that must be followed by the subject category in ideology and politics education in colleges and universities. From the perspective of social subject research methods, the internal examination of the thought and politics education activities in colleges and universities should include three basic dimensions: adhering to examine the ideological and political moral construction activities via communicative practice, adhering to the principle of "all members, whole process and all dimensions (three-all principle)" to examine the "macro ideological and political" education concept, and adhering to the examination of the innovation of the ideology and politics education method system in higher education for the promotion of students’ subjectivity.

Despite the historical realm of security, this concept has been proposed as a social issue only in the modern era and has been tried to be studied empirically. In fact, Islam has considered social security as an important principle in human life and has made other issues dependent on social security. Therefore, the most important issue of urbanisation is social security. Those who commit social offences often do not have a positive view of their society and sometimes of the whole creation and regard social systems and sometimes the universe unhealthy and deviating. In addition, they think that they cannot obtain their true right in an acceptable and natural routine. Islam, along with warning and fear, which can eliminate the root and origin of sin and deviation, has emphasised and encouraged the heavenly reward and worldly happiness. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the role of Islamic lifestyle in social security in Volga Region in Russia. Hence, 10 000 citizens were selected as the statistical population by simple random sampling method. The data have been analysed by Linear Structural Relations (LISREL) software. The participants’ opinions indicated that the Islamic lifestyle plays a significant role in improving social security (P = 0.756; T = 12.453). Therefore, by implementing Islamic teachings in their lives, one will not only have a balanced and meaningful personal life but also security, order and participation will establish social life and society.Contribution: This article contributes to the role of Islamic lifestyle in social security in Volga Region in Russia.

In the pre-revolutionary (it seems, even medieval) four-line songs of the Kazan and pagan prayers of all territorial groups of the Udmurts, some features of the simple subsistence economy of the patriarchal peasant and, in particular, the distribution of income received by them over the past agricultural year were definitely reflected. So, in the last line of a four-line song (by the way, both in form and in functional and content terms significantly different from the chastushka), first published in the collection of B. Gavrilov in 1880 under the number 75: "Odigez vuzhly med kylez" (’One [of them] should remain for the next year’), the most important principle of peasant’s management is expressed: he considered it necessary, after (1) “one share - for food” was allocated; (2) “one share for taxes”/“to pay taxes to the great tsar”; (3) sometimes - one share to feed the hungry and to give to the poor - (4) also to leave “in reserve” at least one stock. And this fourth part was extremely important, rather mandatory for him, and it is for this reason that in previous years in the threshing floors around the Udmurt villages often up to ten years could stand blackened from time hoards of bread left in reserve. The fact was described not only by ethnographers-researchers of the Udmurt people, but also there are many quatrains and individual works of other genres of Udmurt folklore to testify it. Based on such economic and folklore-ethnographic background, the expression used as the title to this article could once have arisen and have been preserved up to the present day.
