Adhesives and metal fasteners have an important place in the content of engineered wood products (EWPs). However, adhesives may cause toxic gas emissions due to their petroleum-based nature, while metal fasteners may adversely affect the reusability of these products. These issues also raise important questions about the sustainability and environmental friendliness of EWPs. Thus, there is still room for a solution that is solid and completely pure wood, adhesive- and metal-connectors-free dovetail wood board elements (DWBEs). There are many studies on the technological, ecological, and economic aspects of these products in the literature, but no studies have been conducted to assess the technical performance of DWBEs. This chapter focuses on DWBEs by proposing various geometric configurations for horizontal structural members in multistory building construction through architectural modeling programs. In this architectural design phase, which is one of the first but most important stages, the proposed configurations are based on a theoretical approach, considering contemporary construction practices rather than structural analysis or mechanical simulation. Further research, including technical performance tests, will be undertaken after this critical phase. It is believed that this chapter will contribute to the dissemination of DWBEs for innovative architectural and structural applications, especially in multistory wooden structures construction.

The experience of liquidation of medical and sanitary consequences of the emergency situation caused by domestic gas explosion and collapse of the entrance of a multistory building in Magnitogorsk on December 31, 2018 is presented. Actions to mobilize resources of the Government, the Ministry of Health and the Territorial Center for Disaster Medicine of Chelyabinsk region, organization of coordinated work of ambulance teams and visiting teams of specialized medical care, forensic experts and psychologists were analyzed. The important role of the Ministry of Health of Russia, of the Government and personally of the President of the Russian Federation V. Putin in the organization of care for the victims, in forming the third echelon of medical forces and means using air ambulance was noted.

Abstract Due to growing population and less availability of land, multistoried buildings are constructed which can serve many people in less area. Purpose of this project is to analysis and designs (G+13) multistory building using E-TABS. Aims are to give proper awareness regarding right design and details of the building. Planning is done using AutoCAD, Designs has involves Load calculations, manually and the Structure is analysis using E-TABS. Codes refer for these projects are NBC IS (456-2000). Concrete mix use is M30. The steel strength for all members is of grade Fe-415 & Fe500. For analyzing the structure, the loads are very important which are calculated using IS (875). The LIMIT STATE METHOD is the method which has been adopted. The manual design is a difficult process and consumes more time. The project purpose is to give the overall experience in the field of planning, design and to gain the knowledge in a practical way.

Abstract: The demand of multistory Building is increases day by day. The residential plus commercial building predominantly used for the need of large span. The large span is needed for Flat slab, Waffle slabs & ribbed slab stands as an excellent option for architects when larger spans in a building has to be covered with the least possible number of columns. The use of different types slabs are evolving as a new trend and are becoming a big challenge for structural engineers. Therefore it is necessary to study about its structural behavior. The paper is review the behavior of different types slab for large span type of building. Final aim to gets the suitable type of slab for large span for effective manner. It is found that very less work is taken setback building with large span, it is required to analysis on the setback building with large span. Explosions caused by standoff charges near buildings have drastic effects on the internal and external structural elements which can cause loss of life and fatal injuries in case of failure or collapse of the structural element. Providing structural elements with blast resistance is therefore gaining increasing importance. This paper presents numerical investigation of RC columns with different reinforcement detailing subjected to near-field explosions. Detailed finite element models are made using LS-DYNA software package for several columns having seismic and conventional reinforcement detailing which were previously tested under blast loads. The numerical results show agreement with the published experimental results regarding displacements and damage pattern. Seismic detailing of columns enhances the failure shape of the column and decrease the displacement values compared to columns with conventional reinforcement detailing. Further, the effect of several modeling parameters are studied such as mesh sensitivity analysis, inclusion of air medium and erosion values on the displacements and damage pattern. The results show that decreasing the mesh size, increasing erosion value and inclusion of air region provide results that are very close to experimental results. Additionally, application is made on a slab-column multistory building provided with protective walls having different connection details subjected to blast loads. The results of this study are presented and discussed. Use of a top and bottom floor slab connection of protective RC walls are better than using the full connection at the four sides to the adjacent columns and slabs. This leads to minimizing the distortion and failure of column, and therefore it increases the chance of saving the building from collapse and saving human lives. Doi: 10.28991/cej-2021-03091733 Full Text: PDF

Приведены результаты анализа и моделирования беспроводной сети интернета вещей в многоэтажном строении. Получено выражение для отношения сигнал/помеха (ОСП) при размещении узлов сети в виде регулярной структуры, представляющей простую кубическую решетку. Приведены зависимости ОСП от интенсивности трафика и количества узлов сети в строении. Рассмотрена возможность применения теории перколяции при описании функциональных возможностей сети. The article presents the results of the analysis and modeling of a wireless network of the Internet of Things in a multi-story building. In the proposed model, an expression is obtained for the signal-to-noise ratio when locating network nodes in the form of a regular structure representing a simple cubic lattice. The dependences of the signal-to-interference ratio on the traffic intensity and the number of network nodes in the multistory building are obtained. The possibility of applying the theory of percolation in describing the functionality of the network is also considered.

Concrete is good in compression and weak in tension and the steel is strong in tension. So the use of reinforced concrete to resist compression and to hold bars in position and to the steel resist tension. In India RCC structures are commonly used in residential as well as business buildings. Nowadays the Post Tensioning method is widely used due to its advantages. Post tensioning is a form of prestressing, that means the steel is stressed before the concrete has to support the service loads. In this paper is exposed to the assessment of execution of Reinforced concrete beam (RCC beam) and Post-Tensioning beam (PT beam) multistoried building structure framework with seismic load using ETABS software. And also evaluate the performance of PT beam under different seismic zone (zone I, zone II) evaluate the performance of PT beam under soil type (medium soil) and compare the performance of RCC deep beam and PT beam with multistory building system with seismic loading performance.
