Marchica lagoon offers very favourable conditions for practice of artisanal fishing which is the main socioeconomic activity carried out in this coastal ecosystem. However, artisanal fishing there suffers from a lack of control and management due to the absence of a data collection system on the various biological and socioeconomic aspects of this fishery. Thus, it considers serious threaten their sustainability. The main purpose of the paper to give a comprehensive account of artisanal fishing and its socioeconomic aspects in the Marchica lagoon, through a survey carried out at five sites around the lagoon. It has been found that there a low level of education among fishermen. The fishermen practiced two gears, pound net and trammel net. The economical analysis showed that the total annual gross product per boat is about 15766,80 USD, which gives an average monthly income of about 1148, 10USD par boat. Therefore, the wealth produced by these fisheries have a real impact on the quality of the fishermen live. Hence, ensure sustainable development of this fishery.

Abstract Although water is one of the key elements on the globe and accessible in a large amount, nearly one-half of the people of the globe are suffering from a shortage of freshwater that is increasing at a frightening rate most exclusively in growing nations where commercial water shortages prevail. So, in the regions with ample saline water and solar radiation where freshwater is usually limited, the humidification-dehumidification desalination systems have demonstrated inspiring outcomes. The experimental, theoretical and economical analysis of the BC humidifier, TEC based dehumidifier HDH system has been presented in this work. The effect of various operational parameters on HDH systems like Ta, Tw, H, do and ya has been studied. The daily experimental and theoretical productivity obtained during the analysis of the H-DH system was in the span of 7–13 L/day and 9.1–12.4 L/day respectively for dissimilar functional variables while the greatest experimental and theoretical productivity was reported 12.97 L/day and 12.4 L/day respectively for do=2 mm, ya=0.016 Kg/sec, Tw=60°C, Ta=27°C, and H=7 cm. Also, the experimental results present a fine confirmation with the results of the proposed mathematical model. From the economic analysis, it is found that the yearly price per liter and the payback period of the HDH system are Rs.5.1/L and 2.4 years respectively, which is a very promising value.

In this communication we present the construction of a wind farm, WF, with 10 MW of nominal power. This WF will increase the quantity and quality of electricity in the area of Ambocas, Loja, Ecuador, strengthen a system with many voltage drops. The place chosen is ideal, because it is long from population, in a hill side near an existing road. Wind is persistent and has a constant orientation all along the year. The generated power will be connected with the electricity system in the Portovelo Substation, which is about 12 km from the WF site. We have calculated the expected electricity production all along the year taking into account all important data to simulate successfully the WF operation in real conditions. We have also modelled the interconnexion of the WF with the substation and its effect in the 69 kV bar. Finally, a brief economical analysis of the project gives an annual average profit higher than 3.5 USD million without taxes, while the inversion would be cancelled in less than 5 years of the 20 ones planned for the WF in full operation.

Algeria has embarked on an ambitious renewable energy program in order to increase total food production. It has a large number of remote small villages and islands that lack in the electricity, and probability of connecting them with the high voltage gridlines in the near future is very poor due to financial and technical constraints. This paper proposes the use of a PV, wind and diesel generator hybrid system with storage element in order to determine the optimal configuration of renewable energy in ALGERIA. The principals’ interests of this system are the independence production, and the supplying of electric energy in isolated localities. Have at one’s the energetic and economic models, and simulation tools, we effected an optimization study based on mixed productions. For this approach, the energetic resources of sites where are implanted telecommunications systems and their consumption are supposed known. Then the problem is the optimization of electric generators using these resources, enable to have an optimal type system for the powering of telecommunications equipments in rural site of Algeria. Homer (hybrid optimization model for electric renewable) simulation software was used to determine the technical feasibility of the system and to perform the economical analysis of the system.
