The presence of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in students inserted in the school system has been a theme in which many areas of knowledge have tried to investigate. The psychological theory suggests that newborns begin their development starting from a similar basis, and that the different types of stimulation and the brain’s ability to adapt to different episodes can be a determining factor in the development of skills and abilities. It is also considered that the family environment is the closest circle and with which the infants have the most contact in this period, therefore, the impact that the stimulation delivered by these people has on the adequate development of the cognitive, psychomotor and of a child’s language, could be related to the presence of SEN and its subsequent consequences in the pedagogical and psychopedagogical areas when they enter the school system.The present work aims to identify stimulation styles to favor the integral development of children up to three years of age.

Belgium: Formalization and Incremental Development of a Supervisor with Increasing Powers and Authority

The formalization process of Belgian banking supervision provides an interesting case. Mixed international influences as well as major domestic reforms influenced the direction of formalizing the supervisory system. It began in the middle of the 1930s as a consequence of the economic and financial crisis at the beginning of the decade. The reforms undertaken in 1934 and 1935 transformed the Belgian banking system from a free and unrestricted market, featuring very influential financial groups operating universal banking, to a supervised and more specialized banking system. However, based on our understanding of “formalization,” the process was not completed until the mid-1970s, because newly created formal supervision agency—the Banking Commission—initially functioned with very little resources and powers on a similar basis as its Swiss equivalent. In the post-Second World War era, the Belgian banking supervisor developed significantly, and its influence reached beyond mere prudential supervision. By the mid-1970s, the Banking Commission got involved in monetary and state financing policy, and the agency obtained the supervision of additional financial institutions.

Signal processing of nonlinear dynamic systems

The paper considers Hermite polynomials that act as a self-similar basis for the decomposition of functions in phase space. It is shown that the equations of behavior of nonlinear dynamical systems are simplified. It is also noted that the wavelet decomposition over Hermite polynomials reduces the number of approximation coefficients and improves the quality of approximation.

John Cage's Concert for Piano and Orchestra

The book is a comprehensive examination of John Cage’s seminal Concert for Piano and Orchestra. It places the piece into its many contexts, examining its relationship with Cage’s compositional practice of indeterminacy more generally, the importance of Cage’s teacher, Arnold Schoenberg, on the development of his structural thought, and the impact of Cage’s (mis)understanding of jazz. It discusses, on the basis of Cage’s sketches and manuscripts, the compositional process at play in the piece. It details the circumstances of the piece’s early performances—often described as catastrophes—its recording and promotion, and the part it played in Cage’s (successful) hunt for a publisher. It examines in detail the various ways in which Cage’s pianist of choice, David Tudor, approached the piece, differing according to whether it was to be performed with an orchestra, alongside Cage delivering the lecture, ‘Indeterminacy’, or as a piano solo to accompany Merce Cunningham’s choreography Antic Meet. It demonstrates the ways in which, despite indeterminacy, the instrumental parts of the piece are amenable to analytical interpretation, especially through a method which exposes the way in which those parts form a sort of network of statistical commonality and difference, analysing, too, the pianist’s part, the Solo for Piano, on a similar basis, discussing throughout the practical consequences of Cage’s notations for a performer. It shows the way in which the piece played a central role, first, in the construction of who Cage was and what sort of composer he was within the new musical world but, second, how it came to be an important example for professional philosophers in discussing what the limits of the musical work are.

A damage model for collagen fibres with an application to collagenous soft tissues

We propose a mechanical model to account for progressive damage in collagen fibres within fibrous soft tissues. The model has a similar basis to the pseudoelastic model that describes the Mullins effect in rubber but it also accounts for the effect of cross-links between collagen fibres. We show that the model is able to capture experimental data obtained from rat tail tendon fibres, and the combined effect of damage and collagen cross-links is illustrated for a simple shear test. The proposed three-dimensional framework allows a straightforward implementation in finite-element codes, which are needed to analyse more complex boundary-value problems for soft tissues under supra-physiological loading or tissues weakened by disease.

TO DETERMINE THE IMPACT OF ERP IMPLEMENTATION IN IMPROVING THE SCM OPERATIONS IN MANUFACTURING

The research is carried out to determine the impact of ERP implementation in the improvement of the Supply chain in the manufacturing sector. The research undermines a detail investigation of How ERP is working to improve the performance of a firm. However, our research is quite specific with improving SCM performance. The identified problem for the research I basically related to process issues, control management issues etc. However, ERP has come up with solutions for it. Previous researches have clearly documented the fact that ERP is based on best practices and therefore, it being’s revolution to the firms. The research is carried out on a similar basis to determine how manufacturing firms with ERP can improve its SCM performance. In conclusion, the research identifies that manufacturing firms through ERP implementation can serve in leading the market, fulfilling the right demand, saving cost and improving operations.

In this paper I examine presumed reasons for the imprisonment of the Carthaginian poet of the fifth century A.D., Blossius Aemilius Dracontius. He wrote a panegyric for a dominus ignotus making a political faux pas – in the result Guntamund, the vandal king, imprisoned him – analyzing Dracontius’s poetry and taking into consideration the political and the cultural background I aim to find out who was the most probable recipient of the poem. These reflections lead in the conclusion to the presentation of the peculiar character of the agreement between Romano-African people and barbarians, mostly on the cultural and literary level. In his poetry Dracontius gives us very important message about the relations be­tween the educated classes of both nations on the Vandal royal court – we can as­sume that in the Vandal Kingdom still existed literary patronage on a very similar basis as it existed earlier in the Roman Empire.
