This paper explores passengers’ perceptions toward airport service quality through a content analysis. Using 1341 review comments posted on the Skytrax website, we identify satisfiers, dissatisfiers, and performance factors that determine passengers’ experiences at the Honolulu International Airport and the world’s leading airports (Singapore Changi Airport, Haneda Airport, Incheon International Airport, Hamad International Airport, and Hong Kong International Airport). The results show that the Honolulu International Airport needs to improve cleanliness of the facilities, signage, and staff courtesy. A context-specific examination reveals that security, check, flight, line, and staff are the most frequently occurring words used by dissatisfied passengers. The most common words mentioned by satisfied users of the world’s leading airports include staff, terminal, clean, time, immigration, and free. These findings provide suggestions and implications concerning customers’ perspectives and may help airport managers enhance airport service quality and renovate airport facilities.

Purpose This study aims to analyze passenger service quality in Beijing West Railway Station from the perspective of passengers, to better understand the current service quality and obtain the areas of weakness for improvement. Design/methodology/approach The research investigates the passenger experience of service in Beijing West Railway Station by using a questionnaire survey. The service quality (SERVQUAL) evaluation method is used to analyze the survey data, and it divides the passenger service into 5 attributes with 20 indicators. This research uses the Likert five-level scale method to process data and calculates the SERVQUAL value and weight difference of each attribute to evaluate the passenger service. Therefore, the deficiencies have been pointed out, so the station manager can improve the passenger service accordingly. Findings It is indicated that among the five studied attributes, Beijing West Railway Station has the smallest service quality value in terms of timeliness, which means this part needs the largest improvement. To the five attributes, each lacks in station security check, ticketing efficiency, station identification accuracy, emergency processing of train delays and the restroom environment, respectively. Originality/value The research can provide specific suggestions for the optimization of the passenger service of Beijing West Railway Station, and provide reference information for the formulation of policies.

Traditional security check technology is mainly based on metal detection by manual inspection. This method is simple and convenient, can detect a few different kinds of contrabands, and also takes into account the safety of inspectors. Because of its strong penetration characteristics, millimeter waves make up for the deficiency of existing security check technologies. Therefore, it is urgent to research and develop millimeter wave holographic imaging technology for human security inspection. In traditional imaging methods, the azimuthal resolution can be improved through various methods of image processing, but the traditional way to improve the range direction resolution is to increase the system bandwidth. However, improvements of the system bandwidth will greatly increase the cost. The bandwidth improvement space is also limited, so it cannot be expanded indefinitely in practical applications. In this study, the interferometric synthetic aperture theory was used to improve the range direction resolution of 3D millimeter wave holographic images without improving the system bandwidth. Phase unwrapping was used to reconstruct the phase information of complex images and restore the continuous phase distribution of the target object so as to achieve improvement of the range direction resolution without increasing the system bandwidth. This work has theoretical guiding significance to improve the range resolution of millimeter wave imaging.

Rational and orderly passenger organization in subway station can improve travel efficiency and safety. How to improve the efficiency of security check, which has a significant impact on the passenger organization, to reduce passengers staying time in the terminal level has the potential to improve service satisfaction. The Weidong Station of Line 1 of Nanchang Metro was selected as the research object. Anylogic software was used to simulate the process of arrival, ticket purchase, security check, gate-crossing machine etc. The results indicate that the dynamic adjustment of security checkpoints and fast passage for passengers without luggage can improve the security efficiency and relieve the congestion in the station hall.
