The problem of computer recognition, both separately printed characters and whole texts, which may contain mathematical formulas, and further saving the resulting document in the "Latex" format, is considered. The developed software implements the ability to recognize printable Latin, Cyrillic, Greek letters and special mathematical symbols. For this, a multilayer convolutional neural network built using the Keras machine learning library and additional validation heuristics are used. To improve the quality of neural network recognition, a sophisticated image processing mechanism has been developed that helps to remove noise from the image, eliminate errors associated with the inclination of characters, and correct character defects associated with the quality of the input image. Also implemented are mechanisms for collecting individual characters into words or mathematical formulas, reproducing the position of signs of indices and degrees, forming ordinary fractions and expressions under the root sign. The results of the recognized text are saved in a file with the simultaneous construction of the "latex" document structure. To demonstrate the capabilities of the developed software, a graphical user interface has been added, with which you can select and inspect the input image even before the start of recognition. During testing of the software, the recognition of images of different types was carried out: completely textual, mathematical formulas without text, mathematical formulas that are between blocks of text.

Alismatis rhizoma (AR) has been used as an herbal medicine in China for over a thousand years. Crude AR, salt-processed AR (SAR), and bran-processed AR (BAR) are recorded in the Pharmacopoeia of the People′s Republic of China. However, the differences of chemical composition between crude AR and its processing products remain limited. In this study, triterpenes were identified from crude AR, SAR, and BAR by ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight-mass spectrometer (UHPLC-QTOF-MS/MS). Subsequently, the differences of triterpenes between the crude AR and processed ARs were compared via a targeted metabolomics approach. Finally, a total of 114 triterpenes were identified, of which 83, 100, and 103 triterpenes were found in crude AR, SAR, and BAR, respectively. After salt-processing, there were 17 triterpenes newly generated, 7 triterpenes with trends of increasing, and 37 triterpenes decreased. Meanwhile, 56 triterpenes including 21 newly generated and 35 with significant increases were observed in BAR. This study could be benefit to investigate the processing mechanism of AR, as well as support their clinical applications.

Previous studies used BA and BEI structures as stimuli to infer that syntax-first models seemed not applicable in Chinese. However, there were inconsistent results of both within same structures and between different structures. Since sentence structures of stimuli were non-canonical as well as lacking wide representativeness in Chinese, we examined the processing mechanism of a more representative structure in Chinese, QING (QING + NP1 + V + NP2) structure in the current study. Four conditions, including correct sentences (CORRECT), semantic-violated sentences (SEMANTIC), syntactic-violated sentences (SYNTACTIC), and combined violated sentences (COMBINED), were composed by manipulating the V between NP1 and NP2. Results with respect to three types of violation were as follows. In the initial phrase (100–300 ms), there existed an interaction between SEMANTIC consistency and the SYNTACTIC category. In the intermediate phrase (300–500 ms), the interaction continued with similar negative waves evoked by three types of violated sentences. In the final phrase (500–700 ms), both SYNTACTIC or COMBINED evoked obvious negative waves. The current research of Qing structure provided new evidence for the processing mechanism of Chinese sentence patterns. Specifically, we found that the interactive model rather than the syntax-first model may apply to the processing of this specific structure of Chinese sentences and compared the results with those reported in previous studies that examined other types of sentence structures.

Abstract Based on the psycholinguistic and neurolinguistic research on bilingualism, this paper firstly discusses three fundamental models and relevant central issues involved in the bilingual processing of interpreting: the selective and non-selective feature of bilingual access and control, the serial and parallel view of bilingual processing, and the coordination view of serial and parallel procedure of bilingual information processing, with the dual purpose of explicating the bilingual processing and cognitive control mechanism in the interpreting process and paving the way for further explanation of the embodied nature of bilingual processing in interpreting from the embodied cognition perspective. Then with the two aspects of processing mechanism and neurolinguistic evidence, it elaborates how the interpreter’s embodied experience and skills in the profession, as a part of cognitive resources, play crucial roles in different levels of cognitive processing which coordinates the serial and parallel processing in the interpreting process. Lastly, this paper argues for viewing the translating process likewise as embodied bilingual processing using a brief comparison between translating and interpreting with a focus on the embodied nature of bilingual processing in their respective processes.

Evolutionary Algorithms (EAs) based Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) path planners have been extensively studied for their effectiveness and high concurrency. However, when there are many obstacles, the path can easily violate constraints during the evolutionary process. Even if a single waypoint causes a few constraint violations, the algorithm will discard these solutions. In this paper, path planning is constructed as a multi-objective optimization problem with constraints in a three-dimensional terrain scenario. To solve this problem in an effective way, this paper proposes an evolutionary algorithm based on multi-level constraint processing (ANSGA-III-PPS) to plan the shortest collision-free flight path of a gliding UAV. The proposed algorithm uses an adaptive constraint processing mechanism to improve different path constraints in a three-dimensional environment and uses an improved adaptive non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (third edition—ANSGA-III) to enhance the algorithm’s path planning ability in a complex environment. The experimental results show that compared with the other four algorithms, ANSGA-III-PPS achieves the best solution performance. This not only validates the effect of the proposed algorithm, but also enriches and improves the research results of UAV path planning.

AbstractTraditional Chinese medicines are an important class of natural products mainly derives from animals, plants and minerals, most of which need to be improved and processed before clinical use due to their own hard texture, impurities or toxicity. As an important part of solid excipients, mineral excipients that contain some metal elements play indispensable and unique roles in the pretreatment process of traditional Chinese medicine. However, deficiency of holistic understanding of the effect of mineral excipients hinders their application and development. This article reviews several mineral excipients including alumen, talci pulvis, soil, soda lime, halloysitum rubrum and cinnabaris systemically. Their processing significance on traditional Chinese medicines were revealed from components, pharmacodynamics and mechanism aspects. Furthermore, prospect and problems including processing technologies, quality standards of mineral excipients and processing mechanism were put forward. This review supply comprehensive information for better and scientific usage of mineral excipients in processing traditional Chinese medicines.

An in-depth and refined empirical study on the emotional expression of information and the information processing mechanism of audiences is carried out to provide enterprises and other organizations with insights and references as regard to the effective utilization of WeChat Tweets for information dissemination and marketing purposes. Based on 1,465 actual tweets from two different types of WeChat public accounts (knowledge communication and information releasing), this paper applies the limited attention capacity model and the signaling theory to analyze the influence of emotional presence, emotional complexity, emotional intensity, and emotional polarity of tweet titles on the click-and-read behavior of the audience. The results show that for WeChat public accounts serving the purpose of knowledge communication, emotional presence and emotional complexity of tweet titles, as well as the emotional intensity of positive tweet titles, has no significant effect on the click-and-read behaviors of the audience. Besides, the emotional intensity of negative tweet titles has a significant negative impact on the audience’s click-and-read behaviors. While for WeChat public accounts serving the purpose of information releasing, tweet titles with emotional presence and lower level of emotional complexity are more likely to trigger click-and-read behaviors of audiences; emotional intensity of negative tweet titles has no significant effect on the click-and-read behaviors of audiences, and emotional intensity of positive tweet titles has a significant negative impact on the audience’s click-and-read behaviors. Thus, this study further analyzes the influence of emotional factors, such as emotional existence, emotional complexity, emotional intensity, and emotional polarity of tweet titles on the click-and-read behavior of consumers and further explores the emotional information processing mechanism of WeChat tweet readers.

Individuals can perceive the mean emotion or mean identity of a group of faces. It has been considered that individual representations are discarded when extracting a mean representation; for example, the “element-independent assumption” asserts that the extraction of a mean representation does not depend on recognizing or remembering individual items. The “element-dependent assumption” proposes that the extraction of a mean representation is closely connected to the processing of individual items. The processing mechanism of mean representations and individual representations remains unclear. The present study used a classic member-identification paradigm and manipulated the exposure time and set size to investigate the effect of attentional resources allocated to individual faces on the processing of both the mean emotion representation and individual representations in a set and the relationship between the two types of representations. The results showed that while the precision of individual representations was affected by attentional resources, the precision of the mean emotion representation did not change with it. Our results indicate that two different pathways may exist for extracting a mean emotion representation and individual representations and that the extraction of a mean emotion representation may have higher priority. Moreover, we found that individual faces in a group could be processed to a certain extent even under extremely short exposure time and that the precision of individual representations was relatively poor but individual representations were not discarded.
