Measurement using a moving camera and a 6-axis sensor under the camera is proposed to determine the distance from the camera to the surface of a moving object and the object’s position movement in two continuous frame images. This makes it possible to measure the 3D position of a moving object at half of the computational cost while keeping the same accuracy as using a stereo camera. 3D measurement experiments with several original images show that the computational time using the proposal is about twice as fast as that of a stereo camera. The proposed method is planning to be used to vehicles or mobile robots avoid obstacles, and its use as a depth meter is also investigated.

AbstractThis paper focuses on signal processing tasks in which the signal is transformed from the signal space to a higher dimensional coefficient space (also called phase space) using a continuous frame, processed in the coefficient space, and synthesized to an output signal. We show how to approximate such methods, termed phase space signal processing methods, using a Monte Carlo method. As opposed to standard discretizations of continuous frames, based on sampling discrete frames from the continuous system, the proposed Monte Carlo method is directly a quadrature approximation of the continuous frame. We show that the Monte Carlo method allows working with highly redundant continuous frames, since the number of samples required for a certain accuracy is proportional to the dimension of the signal space, and not to the dimension of the phase space. Moreover, even though the continuous frame is highly redundant, the Monte Carlo samples are spread uniformly, and hence represent the coefficient space more faithfully than standard frame discretizations.

This paper describes a method based on the pair edge difference and background subtraction to detect the moving vehicles, The presented method consists of three procedures, using CANNY detector to refine the frame pair edge information, then get -1 and 1 from a edge difference between two continuous frame, thirdly, the background subtraction is used to detect the moving vehicles, at last, if -1 and 1 can pair and the background subtraction edge information 1 ,the moving vehicles are detected. Experiments show our method is useful and has a good result.

The tribological behavior of continuous frame ceramic reinforced Al-based alloy against Cr12 steel has been studied with oscillating dry friction and wear tester under the testing conditions of 70°C, 270°C, and 30min, and the load range is from 40N to 100N. The analysis of experimental results show that it is characteristic of abrasive wear and oxidation wear mechanisms for continuous ceramic/Al-7075 composites. The friction resistance of comb ceramic reinforced composite is better than foam ceramic reinforced composite, since the former is with continuous ceramic frame on the worn surface while the latest is with discontinuous hard convex on the plane; and the metal matrix filling in comb ceramic is not continuous in 3-D space, which leads to the deterioration of thermal metal softening at high temperature. Therefore, the composite reinforced by 2-D comb ceramic exhibits better high-temperature friction resistance than the one reinforced by 3-D foam ceramic.
