Two coordination polymers with reversible mechanochromic luminescence properties, which can be further applied as fluorescent sensors, have been assembled with 1,1,2,2-tetrakis(4-(pyridin-4-yl)phenyl)ethane (tppe) and CdCl2.

Three novel coordination polymers have been synthesized based on Cd(ii) and 2-(4-((E)-2-(pyridine-2-yl)vinyl)styryl)pyridine by employing different carboxylic acids as auxiliary ligands. All of them can function as fluorescent sensors for TNP with high sensitivity, selectivity and recyclability.
