Abstract We derive a quadratic recursion relation for the linear Hodge integrals of the form $\langle \tau _{2}^{n}\lambda _{k}\rangle $ . These numbers are used in a formula for Masur-Veech volumes of moduli spaces of quadratic differentials discovered by Chen, Möller and Sauvaget. Therefore, our recursion provides an efficient way of computing these volumes.

AbstractWe enlarge the class of Rapoport–Zink spaces of Hodge type by modifying the centers of the associated $p$-adic reductive groups. Such obtained Rapoport–Zink spaces are said to be of abelian type. The class of Rapoport–Zink spaces of abelian type is strictly larger than the class of Rapoport–Zink spaces of Hodge type, but the two type spaces are closely related as having isomorphic connected components. The rigid analytic generic fibers of Rapoport–Zink spaces of abelian type can be viewed as moduli spaces of local $G$-shtukas in mixed characteristic in the sense of Scholze.We prove that Shimura varieties of abelian type can be uniformized by the associated Rapoport–Zink spaces of abelian type. We construct and study the Ekedahl–Oort stratifications for the special fibers of Rapoport–Zink spaces of abelian type. As an application, we deduce a Rapoport–Zink type uniformization for the supersingular locus of the moduli space of polarized K3 surfaces in mixed characteristic. Moreover, we show that the Artin invariants of supersingular K3 surfaces are related to some purely local invariants.

AbstractInterval exchange maps are related to geodesic flows on translation surfaces; they correspond to the first return maps of the vertical flow on a transverse segment. The Rauzy–Veech induction on the space of interval exchange maps provides a powerful tool to analyze the Teichmüller geodesic flow on the moduli space of Abelian differentials. Several major results have been proved using this renormalization. Danthony and Nogueira introduced in 1988 a natural generalization of interval exchange transformations, namely linear involutions. These maps are related to general measured foliations on surfaces (whether orientable or not). In this paper we are interested by such maps related to geodesic flow on (orientable) flat surfaces with ℤ/2ℤ linear holonomy. We relate geometry and dynamics of such maps to the combinatorics of generalized permutations. We study an analogue of the Rauzy–Veech induction and give an efficient combinatorial characterization of its attractors. We establish a natural bijection between the extended Rauzy classes of generalized permutations and connected components of the strata of meromorphic quadratic differentials with at most simple poles, which allows us, in particular, to classify the connected components of all exceptional strata.

The Bergman tau functions are applied to the study of the Picard group of moduli spaces of quadratic differentials with at most n simple poles on genus g complex algebraic curves. This generalizes our previous results on moduli spaces of holomorphic quadratic differentials.
