In this study, the parallel scheme for LES (Large Eddy Simulation) with GSMAC-FEM is constructed. In terms of the application of the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to the practical problems, the parallel FEM scheme is thought to be promissing. Before applying it to the practical problems, it is necessary to examine the effectiveness of the parallel scheme through the benchmark problem which other researchers have examined. In this study, turbulent channel flow at Reynolds number Reτ = 1180 based on the friction velocity and channel width is analyzed, and numerical results are compared with the DNS data. Through the results, the present scheme is verified. The representative SGS model, the Smagorinsky model, is applied at the first step. The parallelization of GSMAC-FEM is conducted with the distributed multiprocessor, and the effectiveness is discussed in terms of the large scale calculation.
