Cupriavidus pauculus is an emerging organism causing infections in immunocompromised and immunocompetent patients. We report a C.pauculus pneumonia case susceptible to cefepime in an infant with end-stage renal failure. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of C. pauculus causing respiratory infections in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

We describe a patient with idiopathic membranous glomerulopathy who developed acute deterioration in renal function; this was associated with hemoptysis, severe hypertension, and anti-glomerular basement membrane (anti-GBM) antibody in the serum. Despite aggressive therapy with plasmapheresis, cyclophosphamide and prednisone, the patient progressed to end-stage renal failure and is on maintenance hemodialysis.

Calciphylaxis causes ischemia in multiple organs and skin ulcers owing to progressive calcification in small and medial arteries. It has a poor prognosis and often occurs in patients with hyperparathyroidism associated with end-stage renal failure and those undergoing hemodialysis. Here, we present a case of calciphylaxis associated with a wide range of symptoms, including lower thigh skin ulcers, a rectovaginal fistula, and femoral neck fracture. The patient underwent multiple treatments. However, she eventually died of cardiac failure.
