Beyond Beatty sequences: Complementary lattices

By taking square lattices as a two-dimensional analogue to Beatty sequences, we are motivated to define and explore the notion of complementary lattices. In particular, we present a continuous one-parameter family of complementary lattices. This main result then yields several novel examples of complementary sequences, along with a geometric proof of the fundamental property of Beatty sequences.

Extended Bounds of Beatty Sequence Associated with Primes

This paper discusses on the estimation of character sums with respect to non-homogeneous Beatty sequences, over prime where , and is irrational. In particular, the bounds is found by extending several properties of character sums associated with composite moduli over prime. As a result, the bound of is deduced.
