AbstractIn Chapter 3 of Judgment and Agency, Sosa (Judgment and Agency, 2015) explicates the concept of a fully apt performance. In the course of doing so, he draws from illustrative examples of practical performances and applies lessons drawn to the case of cognitive performances, and in particular, to the cognitive performance of judging. Sosa’s examples in the practical sphere are rich and instructive. But there is, I will argue, an interesting disanalogy between the practical and cognitive examples he relies on. Ultimately, I think the source of the disanalogy is a problematic picture of the cognitive performance of guessing and its connection to knowledge and defeat. Once this critical line of argument is advanced, an alternative picture of guessing, qua cognitive performance, is articulated, one which avoids the problems discussed, and yet remains compatible with Sosa’s broader framework.

The relation between the spin period (Ps) and the orbital period (Po) in high-mass X-ray binaries (HMXBs) is investigated. In order for Be/X-ray binaries to locate above the critical line of observable X-ray emission due to accretion, it is necessary for an intermediate orbital eccentricity to be introduced. We suggest that some peculiar systems in the Po − Ps diagram are caused by their peculiar magnetic fields.

This article deals with the railway traffic control and railway traffic equipment in terms of implementation of TSI. The main goal is to research the optimal priority of international freight expresses, especially in the overlapping sections, which represent critical line sections of European freight corridors. This article shows this problem in the context in the overlapping section of RFC 7 and RFC 9 Kolín – Ceská Trebová. There are mentioned possibilities of using of ETCS and implementation of automatic train paths.
