ABSTRACT Fluorescence histochemical studies in newborn and young golden hamster have revealed that some cells in the islets of Langerhans contain monoamine. These cells can be seen in newborns and up to ten day old animals, at least in three to five days old animals the amine behaves like dopamine and is mostly stored in the A2-cells.
