The ascidian fauna at Campbell Bay, Bquary Beach and Laxman Beach, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, was surveyed. A total of six species –Botrylloides leachi, Botrylloides pizoni, Clavelina picta, Clavelina robusta, Phallusia julineaandPolycarpa pigmentate– were newly recorded in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and the generaClavelinawas recorded for the first time in India. It is likely that the Andaman and Nicobar Islands provide a better environment for the growth of ascidians and this area in particular is populated by a greater variety of these ascidians than any of the other areas of the islands. This paper details their morphological and taxonomical features.

Abstract Porcellana persica Haig, 1966 was collected from off the Kerala coast, Arabian Sea, India. This is the first record of both the genus and the species from Indian waters. The taxonomic characters are similar to the findings of Haig (1966), who described the species, and possibly this is the first detailed report on the species after her original description.

Sarcophyton birkelandi Verseveldt, 1978 is reported as a new record to Indian waters from Andaman Islands.  Colony morphology, sclerite structures and measurements were extracted and examined from the surface and coenenchyme of both capitulum and stalk for confirmation of species.  Structural differentiation was observed in sclerite shape such as club shaped, needle shaped and spindle shaped with a variety of sizes and orientation pattern.

Based on two specimens of the flasher scorpionfish, species of Scorpaenopsis macrochir Ogilby, 1910 (85-96 mm, TL) collected from the Visakhapatnam coastal waters, India, we described S. macrochir as the new record from Indian waters. This species is characterized by having 12 dorsal spines, medial surface of pectoral fins with a black subterminal band along entire margin of fin; supraorbital spine ending in a single spinous point and unserrated ocular spines. Nasal spines usually divided into two to six small points. The present study describes full description of the species with illustration.
