The operator of the weak axial meson-exchange currents of the pion range is derived in the pseudoscalar πNN coupling. Leading relativistic corrections are obtained up to the order ~1/M2. The operator is constructed on the basis of a phenomenological locally chiral-invariant Lagrangian and contains all contributions from the A1- and π-pole mediated currents. The extracted nuclear exchange-current operator satisfies the nuclear continuity equation in the considered order in 1/M.
