The following palladium and platinum complexes of the chelating ligands 2-thioamidopyridine (thiopic) and N-methyl-2-aminomethylpyridine (picmene) have been prepared and studied: [PdthiopicX2], [PdpicmeneX2], [Pdpicmene2]I2, [PtthiopicX2], [Ptthiopic(NO2)2], [Ptthiopic2](ClO4)2, and [PtpicmeneX2], where X = Cl, Br, I, SCN.
